TalVista Overview

What is TalVista?

TalVista is a SaaS-based Diversity Recruiting Decision Support Platform. TalVista is uniquely positioned to help companies increase their pool of diverse candidates and increase the likelihood diverse candidates will advance through the recruitment process based on their experience, skills, and qualifications rather than be turned away due to their gender, race, ethnicity, orientation, creed, or physical ability. With technology, diversity training is reinforced and enables behavior modification rather than relying on theory or the memory of a member. TalVista improves diversity recruiting in three ways. Job Description Optimization – With our job description optimization, we analyze the job description and identify problematic words, based on research, that have been shown to detract underrepresented applicants from applying for a job. We are the only platform that goes beyond gender parity, compared to others on the market, to ensure the broadest and most diverse applicant pool is attracted to the job. Redacted Resume Review – We have digitized the process of reviewing the candidate resume. We process PDF and MSWord documents and identify personal identifying information in the resume. We then redact “block out” candidate name and personal identifying URL and email address. Additional redaction can be enabled to “block out” photographs, school/university, and company names. The hiring manager reviews based on skills and experience rather than fixate on a name that may denote a gender, race, or ethnicity. No other platform does the redaction within the original resume. Structured Interviews – Our structured interviews focus the interviewer on what matters most, the core criteria of the job. Interviewers can be assigned questions based on their expertise. Interviewers are empowered to focus on each response and collect vital notes during each response and then refer to those notes during the grading process after the candidate has been excused.

What do you like best about TalVista?

I like about TalVista’s feasibility of the structured interview feature. This helps me and the interviewer be focused and makes sure all the right questions related to candidates are asked. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TalVista?

The redaction feature in TalVista seems to be a work in progress which has not been fully developed. It conceals simple personal details which do not advance much. I would prefer not to reveal the names of schools and previous companies either . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is TalVista solving and how is that benefiting you?

TalVista’s structured interviews and initial redaction make using objective criteria to minimize prejudice in hiring possible. A more general redaction would enable me to have a pool of applicants that are more diverse and qualified based only on merit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about TalVista?

For me, it was useful to embrace the structure of interviews in TalVista’s framework. Designating certain questions that directly relate to the job made it possible to set a high probability that various hiring managers would be impartial in their assessment. What do you dislike about TalVista?

The only disadvantage I saw was that is didn’t link with our current Applicant Tracking System (ATS). This entailed the need to copy-paste candidate details between the platforms, which was not efficient and inefficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about TalVista?

I believe that the more flexible dashboards are useful for defining vendors’ KPIs to monitor their performance. Since all the information about vendors, contracts, and communication on this matter exists in one place, my everything fits perfectly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TalVista?

It can be inconvenient to go through details like micro-level data or creating ad hoc reports. For example, if I wish to compare spend across vendor categories, I have to export the data to a spreadsheet program in order to format it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is TalVista solving and how is that benefiting you?

The use of Talvista has made my work in monitoring vendors quite effective, to say the least. No more searching for contracts or recalling the discussion with different vendors ever again. What do you like best about TalVista?

There are cases when some of the skills or experience marked as key competencies in the resume are removed together with personal data. This can lead to certain aspects of the candidate’s experience not being captured as they can only tick off certain prerequisite boxes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Talvista handles the problem which is so prevalent in organizations; that is, the issue of unfair employment decisions due to bias. What do you like best about TalVista?
