When we used ACS it was capable of collecting a wide variety of data. For instance, you could have primary addresses, secondary addresses, multiple different email address that you could rank in terms of preference of use, etc. There was a lot of information you could gather for the system. ACS was not intuitive to use in the slightest. It literally required taking classes to learn how to use it. When I would need to run reports to gather specific information, nearly every time I had to call ACS to ask them how to do so. The ability to run reports that could capture different types of data for different purposes was the most important thing for me to be able to do with a database and ACS was not good for that. What’s most helpful about ACS is having one platform to keep all of your church community’s data. You can create individual and family profiles and assign them to groups. If you have multiple employees imputing data this can lead to duplicate entries/files and if you don’t have full permissions it can be a bit hard to correct mistakes.
