I appreciate that Yahoo AdTech DSP gives access to premium inventory combined with strong audience data and targeting options. The DSP's reporting and optimization tools work especially well, providing campaign insights that are clear and actionable. The overall performance management feels reliable. Setting up Yahoo AdTech DSP was very easy with clear steps for account configuration and campaign setup. Although there was a slight learning curve due to the platform's depth, the onboarding support and documentation made the process smooth.

The platform is strong overall, but some areas could be improved. The interface can feel complex at times with multiple settings and menus that aren't always intuitive for new users. The campaign performance and ease of use if great and also the ability to track conversions nad reporting make a go to platfrom

The cost is a bit high and the Yahoo bots that check the creatives regularly for quality and policy caused issues with clients in the past. 
Like Hotjar detects it as bot traffic and are not happy about it

Better CTR and conversion rates compared to other DSP's and the setup and range of audience to target is wide

Easy to set up and use. UI is straightforward to navigate with multiple shortcuts and previews. Customer support is friendly and they have some good ideas on how to optimize campaigns.

Having to log in every day, with the 2-factor auth. Random crashes, reports sometimes take a while. Not having the option to create overlapping segments.

Please think about compatibility with your data onboarding platforms and ability to work without cookie based audiences.

Targeting first party audiences on the web. We also use the predictive audience features to help with prospecting. Retargeting is pretty easy as well. We like that the reporting is instant and the reach, while limited by not having Google inventory, is still good enough.

Verizon Media DSP is very user-friendly, has very little UI latency and is good for analytics purposes.

Verizon Media DSP is sometimes laggy and takes a lot of time to fetch the required the data from reporting dashboard.

The platform is really smooth to work on because of it easy go UI and also the options you get to target audience on it and navigation is super easy.

We have to target the audience at all the line item levels which is time consuming. It would be really great if we can target at the campaign leave where it gets applied to all the line items, which could really save time.

Not much. The only attraction to the platform over the years is direct access to Yahoo properties including Yahoo Email.

Most of the things. Have been using this platform since it was Yahoo Gemini, then Oath then Verizon and at some point hoped there was a light at the end of the tunnel for the UI/UX...alas that is not to be.
I actively ask all the sales in our agency to not use it or promote it to clients in any way. The platform is hard to use, targeting is very meh compared to things like TTD, StackAdapt, and others. The support is non-existent and feels like Verizon either needs to take it seriously or kill this product off already.

I don't recommend using it as I think there are many better options out there.

This used to solve the ability to access Yahoo email advertising and have a bit more controllable Native that had a good engagement. This is no longer outweigh the ability to efficiently use the platform.

Has great customer support/service, its an easy system to work with from a planning/inventory/branding perspective. The interface is different but the end result is good.  If you want to make an impression and target your audience, Verizon has done it.

The system was slower than other programs I've worked with, but other than that its great and cant find many things to dislike about it.

The user interface on Yahoo Gemini is relatively similar to Google Ads or Microsoft/Bing ads, which is helpful when advertising across multiple platforms.

Installation and deployment are similar to other search platforms, which makes implementation straightforward and accessible.
Reports: Data export is straightforward and granular (or high-level) as desired. Exports to a CSV or XLSX file for manipulation and analysis.

**What do you dislike about Yahoo AdTech DSP?**


Yahoo! Advertising tends to lag behind other SEM platforms for more sophisticated advertising options (such as display). They are slowly recovering, but do not expect the same high-powered analytics capabilities from Google, shall we say.
Revenue tracking and linking conversions / revenue to advertising spend can be tricky to implement and unsuitable for full funnel tracking.

Great cost-benefit and allows our ads to be viewed by a broad audience

I like its interface wich is very user friendly and understandable ata first sight, no need to receive a product introduction for starters. also, the planner tool is alway helpful in order to create proposals for the commercial team without having to bid in order to know about the prices on the market.

Sometimes loading times even in a good internet conection can be painful, also, the platform sometimes gets stucked at times.

Lastly, I would add a function to forecast inventory availability even with few data making some predictions with previous campaings

I like Yahoo advertising because wide selection of advertising medium.  Search Ads. Banners (display media), Mobile, etc.  Yahoo has a great audience.  You are able to reach 55+ audience, which is very important.

**What do you dislike about Yahoo AdTech DSP?**

Search Ads are much lower in volume than Google.  Display media is hard to make work on a pure ROI basis.  You need to continually optimize your creative.

Display media needs really strong offers and compelling landing page... otherwise you are wasting expensive traffic.

The business problems I am solving are the need for new customer acquisition.  From a benefits point of view, I have gotten new customers from Yahoo Search on a cost efficient basis, but the volume is low and inconsistent.

Multiple ad formats, optimized display URL, personalized advertising, ability to tell a visual story through sponsored ads in carousel format.

It covers only 30% of your potential market, according to Yahoo. So, I have to use Google ads along with Yahoo ad to cover the whole market.

Set up is incredibly easy. Managing the campaign post founded is incredibly straightforward in terms of the delivery, pacing, etc. you've got the choice with the optimization tab whether or not you wish to optimize toward CTR or completion rate.

There is no method of breaking out stats specifics, you're terribly restricted in your coverage choices that makes it very onerous to seek out and notice problems.

I normally use Google Adwords to advertise our new project -"office management software". But, Google Adwords is too expensive that's we ware searching for another program like Adwords. Also, we are familiar with Bing Ads. All of them are excellent advertising program. But, We decided to choose the best for us. Then, we have started our journey with Yahoo Gemini. Gemini is a advertising tool as like Google Adwords. But, Gemini is more easier than Google Adwords to use. The user interface is really nice and balanced. You need not have enough knowledge about Gemini to setup and run a successful campaign in Gemini. If you have only the basic knowledge about Search Engine advertising campaign then you are perfect to go with Yahoo Gemini. Yahoo Gemini gives extremely great conversion rate for less money. No need to have a mega budget to advertise your product in Yahoo Gemini.  You can set up and run your campaign with less cost than Adwords. There are also lots of ad format like Search Ad, Image Ad, Video Ad etc. All of those features and formates are really excellent!

Targeting and demographic advertising options are week. Need to improve in this section. Otherwise I have no issues with Yahoo Gemini.

Recommended to all of the advertiser who want to advertise their product with lower cost and higher conversion rate!

I use Yahoo Gemini for Display advertising only. Though, sometimes we have some budget for tumbler advertising too. Such a great platform with excellent conversion rate. That's why I use Yahoo Gemini to advertise our new Office Management System.

As compared to Google, Yahoo is not a popular platform so the reach of the audience always less.

It cannot compare to Google's breadth of their DSP. Although it is great, it just doesn't have the same reach.

Yahoo can make it simple to get your message in front of a big audience of engaged clients across products, partners, and properties with confirmed advertising solutions that drive results. It's a great resource for individuals to find you and which the primary goal for me personally. I like being able to reach customers who avoid use Google or Bing. Yahoo advertising is extremely easy to use and follow. The exposure connects you to millions of prospective customers.

**What do you dislike about Yahoo AdTech DSP?**

It is extremely difficult to control which sites your advertisements are appearing Gemini literally does not show you where your advertisements are. The interface is very buggy and almost as effective as it could become. Constantly select a period longer than a month and this is very annoying. Google is not a popular, so the foot traffic will be very low. I've in no way gotten 1/2 the traffic I can get from Google, but I suppose which why the price will be so low.

**Recommendations to others considering Yahoo AdTech DSP:**

Lack of openness prevents me through motivating others to obtain this software program. Right now there are no test intervals, so there will end up being no motivation to try the program out. This particular program is similar in order to Bing's services.

We are reaching customers outside of our own usual demographic. Our growth has quickly grown, due to all of the publicity Yahoo has provided all of us with. The cost per click on on feature permits instant outcomes. Customer demand provides enhanced, but I would choose the higher traffic.

They have search, native and video ads in their portfolio.
Search has the same inventory as bing. So no need to do anything there.

Native is over complicated and you cant even exclude for example mobile traffic by default but just reduce the bid ( e . g. as low as - 800 % from your standard bid ) .  They even say that mobile traffic is really bad and that you should exclude it

For search use google and bing . you really do not need yahoo for  that. Rather concentrate on native ( which is quiet difficult to set up and let it function properly ) . 

When starting a new native campaign there are different different ad space categories - 1 A & 1 B , 2 A and 2 B and 3 A and 3 B 
1 is their direct and best inventory
2 is on direct partner websites - quality is no as good as 1
3 is inventory on 3 rd party websites - quality is not very good

Again you can prioritize by different bid adjustments. I would recommend to concentrate on 1 A and 1 B . The inventory  is the best avaibale and further reduce mobile and tablet traffic.

Retargeting & native to re - / acquire customers on yahoo websites and sometimes with extra budgets you get really great video ads in the mix .

Really easy to upload creatives and tagging. Brightroll makes building campaigns and line items a breeze. It's pretty intuitive. I like the ability to save settings template (new feature) which saves me a lot of time when building out multiple line items. I like the ability to create custom audiences and get a live scale prediction. The customer service is excellent, if there were any issues, it would get resolved within a reasonable amount of time and with a lot of communication in the interim.

**What do you dislike about Yahoo AdTech DSP?**

There are a lot of glitches, sometimes changing my settings without my knowledge (viewability, brand safety, etc). It's also inconvenient to have to submit a negative keywords list to DSP administrators every time I want to incorporate it in a campaign (vs. being able to manual add negative keywords or keyword list). Also, some lines tend to over pace (over 100%) alot.

If advertisers are interested in native ads Gemini is definitely a must as it's one of it's strength and definitely allows to reach a larger audience. Search only makes up a small % of overall volume and it's rather disappointing how limit it is with no opportunity to scale. There have been a lot of changes on the Yahoo side and it's clear that Yahoo Search certainly is not a priority for the company.

The UI lacks a lot of functionality and audience is very limited. Since there is no offline editor available it's rather difficult to optimize campaigns. If you limited your campaigns to Yahoo Search only your reach is extremely limited and does not compare to any of the other engines (less than 3% of overall share). Some verticals are still completely "owned" by Bing (Microsoft is serving ads on Yahoo.com) and it's impossible to scale volume.

Yahoo Search does have a very limited audience at least for the B2B verticals we are targeting, however, I think there is a lot of opportunity with Native advertising - a product that Yahoo has been pushing for a while.

I like the massive amount of inventory available with Yahoo and Brightroll across a number of different exchanges. There are also a lot of audience targeting options and other ways to segment the users you are reaching that can be powerful.

There is certainly a wealth of options with Brightroll but as a direct response advertiser, we have found it difficult for our CPAs to back out on their platform. This could be just too high of a rate being taken by the DSP or it could be that they aren't as good at detecting click fraud as other networks.

Would start small and find things that work and then scale up from there.

Ease of use in using Yahoo has made SEO marketing for some sites I am working on more pleasant, although I have found that there are some glitches that Yahoo needs to work on to make things easier for people trying to utilize free avenues to market.

I don't have any real qualms to gripe about except on something unrelated which is their Yahoo messenger, which did not run smoothly, if at all sometimes.  t did not synch well with phone users so when I wanted to view people using my phone to hire, it was not possible.

more incentives should be in place to market to small businesses e.g. trial periods so that people are motivated to try it out

There's no doubt that Yahoo! has a large network of quality online website and app inventory to choose from and the campaigns I did run generated a strong CPA.

**What do you dislike about Yahoo AdTech DSP?**

My biggest issue with Yahoo! (and this applies primarily to their Yahoo! Gemini native advertising platform) is the lack of transparency. You literally cannot see which websites your ads are appearing on. This was a huge issue for some of the clients I worked with who wanted us to be able to blacklist specifics sites (such as Brietbart) or ensure that their ads didn't appear on controversial placements in general. Not only was this not possible through Yahoo!, but I could not even tell the client what specific websites their ads WERE appearing on. In one phone call with a Yahoo! rep, the individual literally could not even tell me how many websites were in the Yahoo! Gemini inventory network ("probably more than thousands. But I don't know for sure"). I also found the interface itself a little buggy and not as a intuitive as some of the other platforms out there.

Despite generating some strong CPAs and CPCs, the lack of transparency with ad inventory is ultimately what prevents me from recommending this platform.

Native Advertising – similar to display advertising, ads are placed on sites throughout Yahoo’s partner network.

As of now you can’t import Bing Ads campaigns, but our rep said this was on the list for future improvements.

Common features in AdWords and Bing Ads, such as ad extensions, are only available in Gemini via their Bulk Edits process. Unfortunately, this process requires downloading a 51 column CSV and manipulating it referencing the protocol outlined in their bulk edits schema objects and field guide.
