Workday Adaptive Planning Pros and Cons

The ability to budget and forecast collectively as opposed to very centralized is a huge benefit of Adaptive. We have team memebers request the inputs they need so they can plan effectively based on our operations. This increases throughput significantly compared to planning in Excel. There aren't many things to complain about. Workday makes great improvements to the software twice a year and users should keep up with those updates, otherwise those using the software could get confused on improvements that impacted them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The seamless integration to the general ledger is really helpful in creating cost center and company level forecasts. The planning team loves the tie in to Excel for day-to-day use. Go live was seamless, as we were going live with a FINS-first implementation at the same time. We are using it every month to update the outlook, as well as for the annual budgeting cycle. After the initial build, you really need to know how the behind-the-scenes work in order to make any significant changes in Adaptive. Workday offers limited resources for free and often will require users to spend money for anything beyond basic level support.
