I like that the test gives an insight to cognitave ability, as well as motivation, extrovert/introvert, etc. The website is also very easy to use for both the employer and candidate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes what it scores candidates on can be irrelevent, resulting in an unnecessary low score for the profile. For example: Why is an office assisant being scored low for not having a sales motivation? Of course an office assistant isn't going to be interested in sales, and their position will rarely, if ever, require them to sell. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I do like the personality portion of the assessment. However, I believe that employers get hung up on it and make decisions ONLY based on the assessment which creates bias. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing about the science makes sense and the people who are supposed to have the answers can never fully explain the science behind it. We find over and over that our questions go unanswered which gives me no confidence in this assessment. The scoring changes and makes no sense and is not consistent at all. I also believe there are many factors which could skew someone's results based on the environment or headspace they are in when taking the assessment. No one with Wonderlic can ever put my mind to ease on these questions. I feel like calls that are supposed to explain the science and scoring are nothing more than inflated sales calls.
I also believe that clients become too dependent on this assessment which ends up with making poor decisions in hiring. Hiring based on an assessment alone not knowing what someone was dealing with when they took it should not be the only hiring decision. For me, I would put more stock into it adminstered in a controlled environment, but when someone is taking it on their own, it puts more questions in my mind than answers. Wonderlic is able to accurately and quickly give us valuable insignt on a potential candidate before we move forward with the hire. In my experience, the coginitive thinking and personality portions of the assessment have been very accurate and reliable. Although it is not perfect, I am very impressed with how well it is able to analize an individual and present this informtion to us in a simple manner. The interface is easy to use and very well thought out. Candidates tend to have an easy time taking and completing the assessment as well. My experience with Wonderlic has been great and there is not a single dislike on my end. As some constructive feedback, I would love the option to have a much shorter assessment if possible. Somewhere between 20 to 30 minutes max, perhaps focusing more on the personality and cognitive thinking scores. It would also be interesting to see more details on the congnitive score, perhaps dividing it into sections such spacial, mathmatics, and linguistic. Our company uses it as a tool in the hiring process. It helps evaluate congnitive, motivation and personality of the candidate to help make a more informed decision. It takes about 40 mintues for the candidate to complete so it is an investment of time on their part so we only send it to the top candidates. There is a timed math section and I think there are quite a few people that have test anxiety especially when it's timed. It would be much better if candidates could take their time on this section. Wonderlic is a great baseline assessment that we use for all of our candidates. We have progressed from using the paper assessment and now administer all online. The Wonscore platform provides great insights and the ability to compare candidates interviewing for the same role. Our team likes the ease of use and informative insights.
