Overall, the tool is brilliant, and we love using it despite the points I dislike (which I’ve listed later). We believe this is one of the best tools on the market in terms of price-to-power ratio.
As a UXR, I find the engagement flows, surveys, and analytics the most useful. Creating in-app content—such as feature announcements and onboarding—is more flexible than in many other tools, allowing you to deliver content in the way that best suits your needs. The tool is also very easy to use, meaning the barrier to entry is low. This is great for less technical users, as they can retrieve the data they need quickly.
Being able to click into an individual user and see the events they’ve performed is a fantastic feature for understanding user journeys. The top events and top pages metrics—both at the individual user and organisation levels, as well as across the entire user base—are incredibly useful for understanding what users are doing and where they spend the most time.
Dashboards are crucial for us, and the preloaded ones are particularly useful. We can also add our own custom dashboards, which is valuable for creating organisation-specific metrics that provide our teams with insights into feature usage and product engagement. We use these regularly to demonstrate the ROI of our solution.
The raw events tracking and visual labelling features are excellent, as they allow us to track UI elements without needing engineers to manually add code to each one. This also enables us to back-date event tracking based on the elements we’ve labelled, which is particularly useful for tracking interactions we may not have initially realised were important.
Support is second to none. The live chat with a real person provides fast, helpful responses to technical questions. Our account managers have been a pleasure to work with, as they genuinely want to understand our use cases and help us maximise the tool’s potential—without a hard-sell approach, which we definitely appreciate.
We’d recommend this tool to anyone looking to better understand their users’ behaviours and engage with them in-app in meaningful and intentional ways. We use it daily and without it, we'd be in a bit of a pinch! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The surveys are somewhat limited, and the way segments (user groups) are created lacks flexibility and power.
The analytics interface also differs from other tools on the market and doesn’t quite offer the same level of UX. For example, when breaking events down by user ID, the UI displays all IDs, even if their event count is 0. It’s a minor issue, but probably my only frustration with the tool.
Triggering flows and surveys also lacks power and flexibility. I've raised our use cases with the team, and hopefully, these will be addressed. One example would be the ability to show users a survey only if their first event occurred more than n days or sessions ago. This would allow us to survey users who have tested a feature without prompting them on the same day they tested it. We’d also like the ability to re-show a survey n times—currently, the only options are to repeat the survey every time or at set intervals (e.g., every n sessions, days, or months) until it is unpublished, completed, or dismissed. Our use case is to show it to each user for two sessions and then stop.
When viewing users, you have to set a "last seen" value, with the longest available period being 180 days (unless using a custom date range). This can sometimes result in missing users who haven’t been active for 180+ days, which is mostly fine. However, for historical analysis, it would be useful to set the range to "all time" to ensure no users are overlooked.
Only admins can export data, which is quite frustrating, as we want our team to be able to create trends and export data in CSV format for further analysis—without requiring full admin-level permissions.
Stitching together certain flows can feel clunky because you can't preview them live. Instead, you have to publish them and ensure they’re only triggered for internal users while testing. It would be great if live previews were possible in the builder. Similarly, you can't reset flow analytics—so if you've tested a flow with 10 internal users and now want to push it live, you have to duplicate the flow to reset the analytics back to 0.
It's worth mentioning that the above are more minor frustrations with the product and, overall, the benefits massively outweigh the challenges! The folks at UserPilot are certainly creating a product that will (and already is to some extent) be the best in class. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

My experience with user was greatly positive and it has significantly improved onboarding process and guidance for users through the product that we have.I can only highlight the variety of UI elements which help to create interactive workflows, and the function of previewing product tours in real live. The only thing I can mention is that some advanced features (like event-based triggers) required a bit of learning and experimentation, so detailed tutorials/interactive guides would be helpful for new users like me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Really enjoying how easy it is to set-up event listeners without the need of a technical background.
Weekly notifications of activity on our product is useful, and has a range of useful features to collate that information.
We're integrating it well with our other products to get a wider view of user.
UPDATE : Since committing proper time to learning what it is that we want to track, and how we're looking to leverage it, UserPilot has become a dream to use. The ease of implementation for somebody who has a more technical background is a godsend, as manually writing in hooks would've been tedious given the size of our platform.
I'm using it almost daily at this point to glean insights into how we can best focus on improving flow in our platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes the event listeners aren't highly accurate, and can be triggered by other events. I suppose that's a downside of an overlay as opposed to something that edits the base code of the webpage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Userpilot makes it incredibly easy to create in-app experiences that guide users seamlessly through our platform. The no-code editor is intuitive, so our team can quickly build and test onboarding flows, tooltips, and feature announcements without relying on engineering. The level of customization is great, and the ability to segment users based on behavior helps us deliver the right message at the right time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While the platform is powerful, the analytics could be more robust. We’d love deeper insights into user interactions beyond the basics to better refine our experiences. The UI also has a bit of a learning curve at first, but once you get the hang of it, it’s smooth sailing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As a Product Manager, Userpilot has significantly enhanced my autonomy in configuring surveys, NPS measurements, user flows, and banners without relying on development resources. Userpilot intuitive interface and no-code builder facilitate quick setup and deployment of in-app experiences, allowing for rapid iteration and optimization. Additionally, the seamless integration with our development environment has streamlined our processes, enabling efficient implementation of user engagement tools.
Another plus is the responsive support team, which provides quick answers via chat whenever assistance is needed, ensuring minimal downtime and smooth operations. Additionally, the support and availability of Sarah, our CSM, has been extremely helpful in guiding us to create the flows we needed in the best possible way. While Userpilot offers robust features, there is room for improvement in customization options for flows, resource center, surveys etc. The analytics dashboard, though functional, could benefit from enhanced clarity and more advanced capabilities to provide deeper insights into user behavior.
Occasional bugs in the survey module have been observed, and the inability to preview the resource center based on specific settings poses challenges in ensuring optimal user experiences.
Furthermore, when modifying published content, the "update changes" feature lacks detailed information on what alterations are being made, limiting our control over content updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I love most about Userpilot is its no-code builder that lets our team create engaging onboarding flows and in-app messages without bothering our developers. The segmentation tools allow us to target specific user groups with pinpoint accuracy.
We are using it more and more often now that our data is connected and passed for better targetting and triggering the flows. The implementation and integration required some technical work but was relatively simple. The Support team was always there to help and troubleshoot when necessary. Their analytics provide valuable insights but are a bit limited sometimes.
The organization and search of the different experiences could be better (flow vs checklist vs spotlights vs banners) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It’s been really useful for rolling out new feature announcements and driving adoption without relying on engineering. The no-code builder makes it easy to create in-app messages, and the segmentation tools help target the right users at the right time. Also, the analytics give a good sense of what’s working so we can optimize engagement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Customization is a bit limited unless you’re okay with custom CSS. Would love more flexibility in branding to keep everything consistent. Also, the integrations could go deeper—better connections with analytics platforms like Amplitude or Heap would make a big difference. Pricing can also get steep as you scale. The no-code aspect of userpilot makes it incredibly easy to set-up tracking and analyzing customer behavior. Sometimes we set them up during a meeting and by the end of that meeting we catch up on the data already. That way we'll quickly know if we are on the right path straight away.
The very few times we have been in need of help from their customer support, they have reacted quickly either calling in technical assistance if needed or followed up afterwards to see if everything have worked out.
We use Userpilot in different departments all benefiting, and it simplifies the work that multiple department are on the same track systemwise.
Lastly, their webinars and "training" of us users are well done and very helpfull. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would like more variations in the design of our pop-ups, banners etc.
It is sometimes a little work to make it fit within our company design DNA - so some more possibilities there would be appreciated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Userpilot is super easy to use and really well-priced, making it a great choice for onboarding and user engagement. I love that it comes with built-in templates, so you don’t have to start from scratch. Also it is very easy to integrate with the product. The analytics are also really helpful for understanding user behavior and making improvements. The customer support team is available on chat and quite responsive. Overall, it’s a great tool that saves time and delivers great value! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Userpilot is a great tool, but there are a few things that could be better. While it’s easy to use, some customization options feel limited, especially when trying to tailor experiences to specific needs. The analytics are useful, but they could be more detailed. Would be amazing if the customer support team is available on weekend as well which currently they are not. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

- Very easy to onboard new users inside the tool and get them up to speed with the different features
- Responsive to feedbacks and suggestions
- Fairly flexible design Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- If you need ultra custom solutions this might not be the tool for you, but for everybody else looking for a digital adoption tool that can be used also by people without and eng background, you should give it a try Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Userpilot has been a great addition to our workflow! The best part is the support—they’re always available and genuinely helpful whenever we run into issues. It makes a huge difference knowing there’s someone to talk to when needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only challenge I’ve faced is understanding how different flows interact with each other. It’s not always clear which flow will trigger first, and there’s no way to preview all active flows in one place. Having a more visual overview would make it much easier to manage.
Overall, it’s a fantastic tool with lots of potential, and I’d definitely recommend it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
