The CMS is very clear and easy to use, and navigating around is a breeze. Very quick and responsive much better than most cms, if you are looking for cms to use this is the one to go with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only downside I can think of is having to upload media content separately when adding content onto a page but hopefully this feature could be added in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Clean frontend and CMS that can be tailor-made for the client's requirements
Umbraco is highly flexible and can be used as a platform to build any kind of web application
A properly build Umbraco website doesn't need any admin / content-editor training as the backend is very intuitive and straightforward
Out of the box multilanguage support using language variant
Out of the box multisite support
Out of the box full text search support Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Developers without proper Umbraco knowledge can build the cms in the wrong structure and make the admin's life difficult
There is nothing else I don't like in Umbraco - its an awesome CMS :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I would like to make changes to the backoffice of Umbraco, I mean I would like to create a button on the backoffice to generate a pdf or excel file of the reports of the users that make changes in the content of my web site, and there's not a straight forward way to make changes on the backoffice. I think that there could be more documentation provided by us as a community, because sometimes is a little bit difficult when there are some issue and there are not enough documentation about common problems and I don't mean that the documentation that is on the umbraco's web site is not a good one, what I mean is that the community should provide solution or they approach to the common problems that we have when working with umbraco. Writing as a non technical user, I love how easy it is to use. I don't come from an IT backbround but I find it very easy and intuitive to add content and images and make changes to clients sites as and when they need. It is one of our selling features for promoting Umbraco websites... if I can do it, so can you!
If there isn't the option for something I want to do, my husband can easily write the code to add the feature. It's brilliant! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I can't really think of any other than if i need a new feature or something doesn't do what I want it to I need to ask for help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We use it for the interface for our journal's website. Prior to moving over to Umbraco we had a clunky, hand-coded interface that was lovely but could only be maintained by a computer programmer. From the day we transitioned to using Umbraco I found updating content mostly intuitive and straightforward. I did not need training, That was a big surprise. Almost every new system requires some kind of training. After our system manager implemented our site we could also manage graphics in a way that previously had been awkward and clunky.
In the beginning I had to access Umbraco a lot, almost weekly, until we had stabilized the content. Now, whenever I access it, I get the content edited and posted in literally minutes.
There is programming side behind Umbraco that our system manager handles. However, based on how quickly he handles any customizations, it seems like that end is easy for him to do as well.
I can only relate to the content management side of Umbraco -- but clearly there is a lot more to this system than the side I work on. Based on my experience, this is a reflection of ease of use of all other features.
We integrate Umbraco with proprietary software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
For me, it's not really a downside to Umbraco. I simply don't have the knowledge our system manager has, so he has to handle the customizations and special display changes. It would be nice if some of these things were more straightforward, but they may be in the new version. I"ve not had a chance to look. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Umbraco has clean editing interface that works well for our team. There are very granular permissions levels and the templating is easy to understand. Coming from a background working with PHP based open-source CMS I have been impressed with Umbraco. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Umbraco is a relatively small community and sometimes the documentation is difficult to interpret. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Umbraco is friendly! Friendly to all users no matter their role - developer or content editor. Keeping up with the latest dotnet technologies is remarkable! Working with the product is pleasant and the community is really helpful! Support is getting better and better with every month! Umbraco Cloud is evolving as well! Congrats, team! Overall, I don't have real issues with the platform. I would like to see further improvemente to Umbraco Deploy regarding handling large amount if content (I am familiar with the latest work on the subject and it is great but I still feel like it nees more features to simlify the transfer of portions of content from Live to Development environments) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The part I like best about Umbraco is the flexibility. Plain and simple. It's a blank canvas for you to build upon, with many many built in features that are easily configured to suit your needs. As a developer, or even using Umbraco cloud, you can setup a site in minutes! Even so much as intergrating it with other systems you may have, such as logging into the back office with Active Directory for just one example.
There's also a very strong community, with forums and even a discord server, where people will post daily with problems and solutions to support each other.
Personally I use Umbraco every week day (sometimes on the weekend too) for my job. People often ask if I have used other CMS's before and the answer is, yes of course, but the best one to use in my opinion, by far is Umbraco. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
For me there is no real dislike about Umbraco. The features and updates are very frequent, support and help can easily be found online with the use of, forums discord and an extensive docs site, featuring; hints, tips, tricks, how to's and example code to help you get started!
