We've been transitioning to SendGrid over the past several months, and it has been everything we hoped it would be and more. The ability to manage unsubscriptions from campaigns is more effective than our previous vendor, and the management of users who forward campaigns to others and how this won't affect the initial user is a very pleasant aspect of our increased usage of eMarketing. You can spend a few days setting up your own email server, reverse DNS, keep the server patched, customizing, deal with domain keys/sender protection framework... Or you can just sign up for SendGrid in 30 seconds and start sending emails right away. It's pretty cheap too, particularly for low-ish volumes (though our use case might not be typical, since we're just using it for general email service rather than for marketing purposes). I haven't had any issues with it, it just works well.

Getting shut down for having a 0.03% spam is something you will NEVER deal with of the other mail providers. I KNOW! We have tested them all; looking for the best rate, but most reliable.
They have a policy of ABOVE 80% reputation as being GOOD!
