While I cannot be certain that it will help in your scenarios, I did want to share a fairly new feature, Admin Mode per https://help.sumologic.com/Manage/Content_Sharing/Admin_Mode that many customers are finding useful for content sharing at an organizational level.

There are some ways to improve query time for older logs if you haven't tried them already. These include partitions, scheduled views, and query scoping methods to improve your search experience.
