  ### 3. Smooth Migration from PagerDuty and Excellent Support!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gireesh B. | Senior Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2024

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

After over three years of using PagerDuty, we decided to switch to Squadcast, mainly due to challenges with PagerDuty’s pricing and customer support. Squadcast came highly recommended by one of our advisors, and I’m glad we made the switch!

The Enterprise plan at $21 per user per month, with no minimum commitment, makes Squadcast an incredibly flexible and transparent solution. The migration process was seamless; the Squadcast team helped us achieve parity with our previous PagerDuty setup, including migrating all schedules, escalation policies, and configurations. The Customer Success team has been a highlight—they are available on Slack and are always quick to respond, providing us with immediate support whenever needed.

Overall, I find Squadcast to be a superior product compared to PagerDuty, with better pricing, support, and flexibility. Highly recommended for teams looking to make a switch!

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

So far everything is going good. We don't have any complaints.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squadcast is helping us streamline our incident management processes with greater flexibility and responsiveness, solving key issues we faced with our previous solution. First, the transparent pricing model removes the financial strain we experienced with PagerDuty, allowing us to scale as needed without worrying about hidden costs or restrictive commitments. This financial flexibility is a huge benefit for our team, as it aligns well with our budget and user growth needs.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were looking for incident management based on user that we wanted to have account for and Squadcast have all the features that we wanted to start with also the price was within budget.
Since we implemented, all the incident which needs to be taken care on priority are now getting right attention and visibility, also team members get calls and escalation policy helps further that if call is missed by one person then it goes to other and so on.
Which at the end gets acknowledge and team start to work on it or assign to appropriate team after basis analysis.

  ### 5. Easy to set up and maintain incident management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James F. | Software Engineering Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2024

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Squadcast helps us respond to incidents in our software promptly, before they become a significant issue for our users. Squadcast can take inputs from various monitoring tools that we have and its easy to set up rotas and overrides for who should be alerted for different types of issues.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

With multiple rotas set up, it can be sometimes difficult to read the schedules screen for who is on-call in different rotas.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squadcast alerts us to issues occurring in our production software. This helps us to keep our customers happy by responding to issues promptly.

  ### 6. On Call Rotations Have Never Been Smoother

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Desiree B. | Office Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2024

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Squadcast, in comparison to similar providers I've used in the past, far outshines their competition.

My company has a semi-complex series of schedules across our clientele to ensure that everyone is taking care of both during and out of office hours. The team at Squadcast were extremely supportive and eager to connect with us and walk us through everything that we needed to get set up and ready to go!

Whether we're on the web or using the phone application, it's easy to see where the alerts are coming from with the integrations they offer with our existing systems. It's easy to set up how our technicians are alerted and when issues need to be escalated. Some clients require 24/7 monitoring and we were able to create separate indicent handling to make sure our on call technicians were only interrupted outside of standard after hours coverage for those clients for critical issues.

While we've been with them since September of 2023 and in that time we've seen new features released and existing ones improved. Any requests or suggestions we've made are met with interest and sincerity to see helpful changes implemented.

We use Squadcast to even generate alerts and tickets in our RMM software. There isn't a day in the year that we don't use Squadcast to support our clients!

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

There are some limitations I've experienced with having the alerts properly identify our clients, although this may be a limitation of how we've configured the integrations as we have to keep things a certain way with our RMM. Because of that, while we do have runbooks created for our clients to help provide information to our technicians to address the multitude of issues that arise, they aren't automatically attached to the incident.

They have features for notes and postmortems that we do not use purely because it would be doubling efforts with the documentation that needs to happen in our RMM's ticketing system. It would be nice to see more growth on both ends for us to meld these pieces together and lessen the time our technicians need to spend documenting how they fixed the indicents that arose while they were on call.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our techs receive alerts to their cell phones around all kinds of issues in real time so we are able to address them sometimes before a client is even aware. We have different levels set up for during office hours and outside those hours, so non-critical issues aren't sent to on call, thus saving us time and money.

  ### 7. One of the best app for alert management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vaibhav D. | Devops Intern, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2024

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

U get calls and alert also there is escalation automatically if one doesn't respond to the alert notification, because of this I never missed an critical alert. Thanks

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

If u go to see previous resolved alerts and open any one alert in whole list after finding that alert if u get back u r in the first position not where u opened the last alert from. This is somewhat annoying and again u have to go down and search for that alert in the list.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Critical alert management for infrastructure, which helps keeping the infra in healthy state and serve our customers the best we can offer.

  ### 8. Effortless Incident Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jayashree P. | Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2024

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

What I really appreciate is the real-time collaboration—it keeps our team connected during critical incidents, so we resolve issues faster. Overall, Squadcast has helped us reduce downtime and improve the reliability of our services.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

occasional lag in syncing alerts from certain integrations

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before, it was chaotic trying to keep track of incidents across various platforms, but now everything is centralized, making it much easier to stay organized.

  ### 9. Very good service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2024

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Easy to setup with a lot of pre-built integration with major applications.
We were able to build and customize the incident management workflow based on our needs.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Nothing very bad to highlight.
The overall look and feel of the status page could be improved.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We initially chose Squadcast to provide a public status page for the service status of our software solutions. Its incident management capabilities enabled us to establish a structured workflow for incident communication and management

  ### 10. Simple, reliable and effective

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Simplicity is the key for squadcast i'm adoring this feature

Lots of very basic features not included in free plan, not all of bussinsses can afford paid plan that's why some free features can make a loyal user maybe will subscrbe one day

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

alerting , organizing and documenting system failures and outages, it's a vital role for the organization and business runing

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Get from service not working to IT specialist getting a alert to check it out.

**Official Response from Sanjog Sandhu:**

> Thanks for the review! We're delighted that Squadcast is ticking the right boxes for you.

  ### 12. It is good applications.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shadab K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2023

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

It is good for incident notification. It is very fast to notify me of incidents whenever my infrastructure resources are overutilized or any critical incidents are triggered via my monitoring tool. The best part is that it is very simple to integrate with any monitoring tools like Prometheus, Zabbix, and Icinga to constantly notify me of any critical issues in the infrastructure.
I always recommended Squadcast to my friends and team because they instantly got prompted for any series of issues in infrastructure.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

I don't think there is any dislike point in this application. I like these apps and recommend them to other IT sectors to use for Monitoring their infra and applications.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Whenever my applications went down or any issue was raised in my Infra, I got notified by Squadcast, and it helped me to resolve and figure out the problem early. It makes me a professional IT engineer.

**Official Response from Sanjog Sandhu:**

> Thank you for your review :) We're delighted to learn that Squadcast is meeting your needs and expectations!

  ### 13. Its a batmobile, but needs you to be batman.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yash V. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2023

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

It calls me when my code is going sideways.
The on-call scheduling is a lifesaver too, ensuring that the right people are always ready to swoop in and save the day. Third are the integrations, that allow frequent access of alerts and related data. Since its not practical to open any app repeatedly, quick & easy integrations like slack and email are really helpful.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

As for dislikes, I'd say the learning curve can be a bit steep for newcomers.

It's like getting the keys to the Batmobile without the manual, or rather a very big manual. But once you get the hang of it, the power is undeniable. We have a POC from the team attached to our slack channel who's always eager to support our queries and is proactive in resolving them, but I believe the UI could be polished to make it more intuitive, and stop those queries altogether.

The platform a number of features, which is great, but might be a bit overwhelming for beginners. I'd love a wizard that can be played anytime as a walkthrough of the platform.

We majorly use the slack integration to get all alters in our channels. Like linear, if the slack threads could be sync'd with an incident, it'd be a holy blessing. Imaging clicking on an issue and seeing all conversations that have happened related to it. A massive productivity boost, especially for daily users and devops teams.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squadcast solves the chaos that comes with incident management. It's a streamlined solution that ensures everyone on the team is on the same page when it comes to tackling issues.

The on-call scheduling feature is a blessing, making sure the right people are always ready for action. No more fumbling around to figure out who's on duty.

Integrations ensure there's no communication gap, get everything in your mailbox and slack.

**Official Response from Chitra Bisht:**

> Thank you for the fantastic review! We're thrilled to hear Squadcast is your Batmobile for incident management, even if it requires a bit of Batman-level skill to master. If you ever need backup, our support team is just a click away. Thanks again, and keep being the hero your code needs! 🦇

  ### 14. Solid system, user interface a bit confusing but constantly improving and accepting customer input

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** gregory j. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2023

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

My favorite part is the automatic escalation for incident response, and all of the customization that comes along with it (delay time, extra notifications, notification type, etc.) - great frequency of use and ease of integration here. Also, I can't skip out on mentioning my second favorite part about Squadcast - the customer support. I've been on a call or two when their company is releasing updates and wanted to chat and answer customer questions. As far as their updates and improvements that they release, it REALLY feels like they listen to customer complaints, recommedations and wishes.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

It still just seems counter-intuitive on the portal, the app has definitely been improved though. Almost flawless on the mobile app at this point. But getting anything management-related done is odd feeling, such as trying to adjust the scheduling for different teams. This would reduce the ease of use.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squadcast helped solve our issue of needing proper non-business hour escalation. Proper on-call rotation setup with the proper fallback escalation should a response not be given, and all of this setup across multiple different teams (which would all require different escalation configurations).

**Official Response from Chitra Bisht:**

> Thank you for using Squadcast and dropping a positive feedback. For managing schedules for different teams we recommend you to check our documentation once, https://support.squadcast.com/schedules/schedules-legacy/create-and-manage-on-call-schedules-and-rotations.

If you still have doubts and need our help, write to us here: support@squadcast.com and our team will reach out to you. Thanks again. :)

  ### 15. Squadcast is a good tool for critical alerting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott Q. | VP & CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2023

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Flexible alerting. Able to manage a dynamic set of users who might be on call for urgent events.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Until you install theh Squadcast app and manage all your alerts through that the phone interface can be a bit frustrating to navigate. Failure to manage the alerts will cause Squadcast to hound you (not a bad thing if no one is paying attention). However, once you have the app it is mindless ot properly manage the alert stream and silence it once the alert has been properly acknowledged.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a pool of people comprising an upstream vendor's technical staff and our own. Each side has folks responsible for alerts depending on the time and day. This seamlessly manages that and is relentless in making sure someone knows that an extremely critical event is going once an approved person acknowledges what is going on, it quits chasing the others.

**Official Response from Chitra Bisht:**

> Hello!

Thank you for providing your feedback. Could you please specify which aspects of the Mobile App interface you feel could be enhanced? Feel free to share your detailed feedback with us at support@squadcast.com. We are eager to understand your views better!

  ### 16. Minimize downtime, maximize efficiency and ensure smooth operations.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Meet V. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2023

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

I like the integration it provodies with different third party monitoring tools. With the ease of Webhook, you can use it anywhere in your system to send an alarm notification. It has nice and cleaner UI. It also calls you back in case if you have not read the alert notification which is big plus. Implementation is easy enough, it won't take more of it, since it is Cloud managed. Customer support is good with slack channel integration. Greate frequency of use, We use this tool for every sort of production alert which can help us minimize the downtime or avoid it.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Sometimes I find it overwhelming to understand what all features means and where to find it. Other than that, I did not find any issues with it.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy of incident management with different third party monitoring tools and actively minimize the downtime.

**Official Response from Chitra Bisht:**

> Hey there, Thanks for the great review! We're thrilled you're enjoying Squadcast's integrations and proactive features. We have a pretty detailed documentation that you might go through at pace: https://support.squadcast.com/

  ### 17. Much cheaper than Pagerduty, some rough edges

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh G. | Chief Technology Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2023

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

The price is very reasonable for a small team. The app is pretty straightforward with a simple and clean UI. The alerting seems to work pretty well. The new schedules are much easier to understand.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

We've had a couple times where alerts didn't come through. Support helped us out though. Some of the views aren't readily apparent, like the new calendar doesn't default to showing the overrides right the same way I'd expect from Pagerduty. The setup could use some work to guide you how to get everything running. I also miss the multiple levels of alerts that were easy to set up in Pagerduty (like "these alerts ring phones, these alerts can wait until the morning").

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making sure our service is always running and that we know who to look to when something goes down. It's very nice for setting up an on call schedule and rotation.

**Official Response from Sanjog Sandhu:**

> Hi Josh,

Thanks for your comments; we are always glad to hear our customers' experiences with the product!

For your first use-case, we're working on a feature for Schedules that will display a final schedule layer, including overrides and all shifts. We'll keep you updated on its progress. Regarding your second feedback, we've just rolled out Delayed notifications, which should address your concerns. Please refer to our documentation for more details.

  ### 18. It helps to act quickly

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Akshat G. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2023

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

The alerts that we can configure and the escalation policy, the on call calendar. Very well intergrate with alert manager.
The mobile app allows team members to receive and respond to alerts on the go, ensuring that incidents are addressed promptly.
Squadcast provides incident analytics and reporting, which can help you identify trends, areas for improvement, and the overall performance of your incident response process.

Squadcast supports automation through runbooks and alert rules. Runbooks help document and automate response procedures, while alert rules allow you to customize how and when alerts are triggered.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

If not properly configured, Squadcast can potentially flood your team with alerts, leading to alert fatigue. It's important to set up alert rules and thresholds carefully to avoid this.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The succes rate, exception count increase alerts. It helps to act reactively.

**Official Response from Sanjog Sandhu:**

> Thank you for your review! We're pleased to hear that Squadcast is meeting your team's needs.

  ### 19. Squadcast Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vivek P. | Site reliability engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2022

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

I've been using the squad cast for the last year, and the best part is that you can easily integrate this with other monitoring tools. If you are on the shift, it will send you the reminder and alert notifications, So if you are busy with other tasks, you will receive the call for your alert and take action accordingly.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Recently squadcast introduced a new schedule where we can creates the schedule as per the roster, but, we can not give shift time as per our need, if we can select time as per our need that can be easier, and also if we can directly upload the roster in CSV format.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a part of Devops SRE team, we have to monitor the infra and running services actively, Which is not possible to see the monitor screen all the time, And using the squadcast, which give alert notification, sms, and call if you did not acknowledge the alert. You can set the escalation policy for critical alerts, which is the best part.

  ### 20. Squadcast Tool Review

**Reviewed by:** Hemant K. | site reliability engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2022

Their escalation policies structure ,Single to manage all service alerts

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

we are not able to attach screenshots in alerts notes

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Service based alerts , By using squadcast we are able so solve the alerts with in short span of time

  ### 21. Squadcast offers premium features at no cost to users

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2023

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

We are a small to medium sized business that develops and operates cloud based software services to customers primarily in manufacturing. Most customers run shifts around the clock however we are only staffed during normal business hours. If there is a network or software issue that takes place after hours its critical that we be alerted. With Squadcast we have found that we can determined which alerts we want prioritized, which we want to ignore, we can even suppress repeated alerts. After doing research we found Squadcast was the best value allowing us to have many team members on our support rotation and all while still utilizing the first tier of service which does not cost us.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

My only issues have been with the IOS app having bugs however I am not aware of any of the previous bugs that we encountered still being an issue. It appears as though they have all been addressed. These inluded not being able to add notes to a ticket and login issues.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows us to have application up time monitoring to ensure we don't have any outages that go uncaught.

  ### 22. Increase your support operations efficiency

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris A. | Service Delivery Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2023

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Squadcast has all the core functionality to support your operations, alert management, and escalations at a very reasonable price point. Technical support has been excellent, and they provide fast response to support.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

They are minor - the mobile app is not as configurable as some competitors such as custom sounds. That being said, there is always improvements in this space so I am sure it will be addressed soon.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Correlation of multiple alerts to single events to simply our alert management. This eases the interactions for a recurring event (i.e. lost connectivity) where a monitoring system will continuously spawn alerts.

**Official Response from Chitra Bisht:**

  ### 23. Good with one Problem

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pelin C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 14, 2023

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

It's a relatively good price compared to other paging software. It is able to call people in multiple countries and you can create teams and on-call shifts easily.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

We use Sentry for logging and Squadcast for paging. Currently, we are not able to mark the issue as resolved on Sentry once we've done it for Squadcast. i've reached out to both Sentry and Squadcast for this issue, and although you guys allow for outbound calls, the Sentry issue URL ends with /<issue_id> , so we're not able to do a batch operation. Hence, it doesn't work.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Alerting people of fatal issues we're facing.

  ### 24. Great Incident Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonah B. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2021

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

We're able to centralice all Incidences in one single application and it was really easy to implement and integrate.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Sometimes it's hard to find what we're looking for. Better ordering in tables and search-elements would be great.

**Recommendations to others considering SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast):**

Try the free verison. It's just Limited in the amount.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having one place for all incidents.

  ### 25. Keep On Top of Service Failures

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2023

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Squadcast is great for alerting you when important services are experiencing high volumes of errors that require your attention. It integrates well with other monitoring tools such as Azure Insights and Datadog. I'm sure there are more but those are just the 2 we use and there isn't any issues setting up the specific rules for when to notify us.
The on-call feature is great so you can have 24 hour observation without being glued to a screen and it doesn't leave any 1 person or teammate being responsible for the whole show.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Sometimes the same alert will continually blow up your phone while you are currently investigating the issue. This is highly aggravating. I know there are suppression rules and other mechanisms in place to limit these alerts manually, but there should really be something built in where if a second/third/fourth alert comes in for the same issue while the first one is still active then it doesn't need to make that awful noise on your phone that disrupts you while working.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gives up visibility to errors as they happen without needing to stare are incoming logs in realtime.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2023

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Squadcast streamlines our teams communication and colloboration on business critical issues. It has been instrumental in our incident management while reducing support response times which leads to greater customer satisfaction.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

I'd love more options for recording capabilities with the tool. The pricing can also be a bit much for leaner teams at new start ups.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It notifies key team members about business critical issues both inside and outside of operating hours wherever they may be and in the manner in which they wish to be communicated with. This is a huge help as we are a global remote team with a global customer base and our working hours may not always be our clients. However, with squadcast we know when to tune in and add more resources to resolve an issue.

  ### 32. Review Squadcast

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Deep C. | Devops engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2022

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

The escalation policy feature and the incident management calling feature are excellent. It's the best API for managing the user roster and other tasks. I particularly like the support chatbots, which are very helpful for receiving timely alerts to make decisions and avoid issues.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

There is no option to automatically escalate the alert to the next level user if the first level user acknowledged the attention and didn't resolve it for a long time. And the latest schedule v2 UI is not working correctly.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Incident route diversion and helping us to manage issues before the outage and take action timely. Other ways are also to get a call from the squad cast. If you are not available online, you will get a call from AI.

**Official Response from Sai Prasaanth:**

> Hi Deep! We truly appreciate your feedback, and it holds significant value for us. In terms of the requests you've mentioned, could I kindly ask you to connect with us at support@squadcast.com? **What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microservices-based alerts, By using Squadcast we are able so solve the alerts within in short span of time and also do postmortem on them

  ### 34. Squadcast helps with on call, tracking errors, etc.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Spencer C. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2023

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Being able to see other incidents that may have impacted your services as well. Being able to create teams, schedules, etc.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

There's a lot. I haven't found a super easy way to configure it, but that may be the nature of the beast. And since it's an on call type of system, you naturally hate it regardless of product.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeps a playbook, on call schedule so when our team services break, our command center has a place and people to contact.

**Official Response from Chitra Bisht:**

> We're glad to hear that you value Squadcast's capability to provide visibility into related incidents and its functionality for team and schedule management. Thank you for sharing your experience!

  ### 35. Our first month with them is very positive

**Reviewed by:** Iván S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2023

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

The possibilities to personalize the notifications, to show the values, and the way to program the escalations.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

I am waiting for an important feature for us. We need the stakeholders to receive the most critical alerts in real time, not using the notes.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squadcast is being used to handle the alerts triggered in Grafana when there is an issue on our platforms and services. The low time to display those alerts and the ability to notify using push, calls, SMS, chat, etc., help us receive the alert in real time.

**Official Response from Chitra Bisht:**

> Thank you for your positive feedback!

We're glad your first month with Squadcast has been great and Squadcast is effectively handling your Grafana alerts. You can go through this resource for knowing about stakeholder notification, we've introduced a few updates there as well. https://www.squadcast.com/blog/keeping-stakeholders-notified-of-incidents-with-squadcast.

intuitive and easy to navigate, which can streamline incident management and reduce the learning curve. robust automation features, including incident detection and routing, help teams respond to incidents more efficiently and reduce manual intervention. wide range of integrations with monitoring and alerting tools, allowing our team to centralize incident management across the tech stack. flexibility in configuring incident response workflows, on-call schedules, and escalations can be tailored to suit our unique needs (across time zones, managing overrides, vacation schedules, adhoc shuffling etc.,). incident timelines and communication channels, facilitating seamless teamwork and communication during incident resolution really helped us during multiple outage handling scenarios

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Squadcast's pricing is not cheap, but you pay what you get for.
If you have a large team you may find this less competitive compared to other incident management tools.
Additionally, some very specific and complex incident management needs are lacking but this is only for complex scheduling and especially for very big organizations.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squadcast has helped us improve our response times and also reduce the number of incidents by improving the overall feedback loop.

**Official Response from Sanjog Sandhu:**

> Thank you for sharing your insights regarding Squadcast's pricing and capabilities. We are always looking to improve Squadcast's capabilties for Enterprises, can you please provide more context into what improvement would you like to see in our Scheduling capabilities? It helps to see my schedule as to when I will be on call really easy. It can change by month and week and is easy to update. It also will forward all emails that will come in for tickets straight to my email. It is effortless to setup and use. Your techs will love it to be able to see and plan everything around the schedule.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

I did not notice any downsides yet and I have been using it for years.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

On call scheduling is being solved. It benefits us because now no one is not aware of when they are on call and when they are not. No conflicts arise as to who is in charge for the week.

  ### 39. I don't understand who this product was designed for

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2023

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

I'm told that it was cheaper than competitors

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Not very user friendly. For example, as an engineer there was no easy way to see a listing of my upcoming on-call shifts. Instead, I would have to go to the calendar for the rotations I was in and look for the shifts with my name. Overriding schedules due to vacations, etc, was also much more complicated than it should have been.

One of my coworkers speculated that this product was designed for the people who make the schedules, rather than the people who are on-call. However, the person who sets our schedules assured us that using Squadcast was just as miserable for him as it was for us.

My company switched to another product, and everything has been much better since then. Absolutely nobody misses Squadcast.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We stopped using it, so it doesn't benefit us.

  ### 40. Usefull

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

1) SLO tracker: as an SRE its is important to track SLO which will help to track down activity
2)on call schedule: no need to search in roster we will directly know from application who is oncall person
3) Runbook: most use full feature, every one know what step should we follow if we stuck some where with the one go also we can updates runbook easily
And many more

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Overall it is good product, but every thing has some limitations for this product we can see there is no
Free plan and it doesn't let you record vedio in basic paid tier

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have 5000+ servers to monitor, squadcast help us to manage monitoring and incidents

  ### 41. Monitoring and Alerting turned simple and efficient

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2023

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

The best part is that it's a very simple tool. Initially, with other monitoring tools, only technical folks were handling the alerts. However, since Squadcast is easy and includes the "notes" and a few other sections, it is managed by Customer Success itself. If they see any issue, it's easy for them to reassign. Thus, it almost eliminated the L1 layer

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Call rotation seems to be confusion sometimes

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for Server monitoring for various metrics

**Official Response from Chitra Bisht:**

> Thanks for sharing your experience! It's great to hear that Squadcast's simplicity has allowed your Customer Success team to manage alerts effectively, eliminating the need for technical intervention. Could you specify what part of the call rotation seems confusing, so we can take your feedback into consideration!

Learning Curve: Since Squadcast offers various advanced features and integrations, users might need to invest time in learning how to set up and customize the tool to meet their specific needs. This learning curve can be challenging for users who are not familiar with incident management platforms.

Pricing: The cost of using Squadcast might be a concern for some users or organizations, particularly for small teams or startups with limited budgets. ### 44. Cost effective incident management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2023

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Squacast is an Incident Management at cost effective pricing. We migrated from PagerDuty, because of the excessive prize/increase.

The setup was easy and anyone with some basic knowledge should be able to do it. SquadCast has a good number of integrations. A seamless integration with DataDog Monitors. It automatically resolves the incidents when they are resolved in DataDog.

In addition, the OOTB MMTA and MTTR on the main dashboard keep everyone informed about organizational numbers.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

- There has to be a lite offering, to just get notified along with integrations. Incident Management at startups doesn't need fancy metrics and tracking. A lite version with call/sms and tracking support is enough.

- The SSO setup with Google Workspace was not clear. It required back and forth with their support but finally worked. A quick setup demo video should have helped.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squacast is an Incident Management at cost effective pricing.

**Official Response from Chitra Bisht:**

> Thank you for your detailed review! We're delighted that you find Squadcast cost-effective and appreciate its easy setup and seamless integrations. We value your feedback on having a lite version and clearer SSO setup instructions. You can check our support doc for the same.

Your suggestions help us improve. Thanks again for sharing your experience!

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Squadcast was very easy to setup and we integrated it with the Alertmanger and Slack easily, we are able to get the alerts as fired and we are notified via squadcast slack message, email and very awesome feature call

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

There is just one minor thing if there is team and the alerts fired then every person on that team gets the call alert, it eould be better if there is a way to filter the calls to sent to specific people when gets triggered

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squadcast is allowing us to easily visualise the incidents by awesome arrangement, it is easily integrated with Prometheus and of creating teams using service option is too good, we created our team with a name of our choice and added team members in that which I think was not available with other vendors

**Official Response from Sanjog Sandhu:**

> Hello! Thank you for your review! Calls will be received according to the Escalation Policy configuration. If you wish to direct alerts to particular individuals, you can setup Escalation Policies via the following link: https://support.squadcast.com/escalation-policies/create-and-manage-escalation-policies
