Easy to install and set up. I currently use the Help Desk and I am deploying this to learn more about my network Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It cost a little bit. If you search, there are other free “like” software, but they do not provide the detailed information that IP Scanner provides. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Not much to dislike--one feature that would be nice to have is the ability to switch to other networks that are in your profile. An example is on my home network, I have a Guest network that would be good to login through the app and check the traffic without having to change my wifi connection. It's easy to get started and does pickup most items quickly. The IP Scanner from Spiceworks helps to make network management easy. It scans your network and gives you a list of devices. The tool also has the ability to enable additional protocols so that you can even remotely management some devices in some cases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The initial setup is rather cumbersome. After the product has been set up though, it works great! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's an incredibly simple cloud based software with a thin client to install on a PC or multiple PC's. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Like all other tools in the Spiceworks suite, this tool is dead simple to use. It's straight forward and does what it says on the tin. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It doesn't always pick up everything, and I've also had random issues where it won't pick up host names or resolve DNS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that it's free, but other than that I disliked the product. I came bundled with the spiceworks helpdesk and frankly we never found any good in it, quite the opposite in fact. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ressource hog. We ended up turning the feature off because of it. I would not re-use it at all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Love the scan tool - just don't care for how much it uses local resources and bandwidth when running. It is a memory hog Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
