Solarwinds Patch Manager does make patching super easy. It can also generate reports of fixed systems. For extensive infrastructure where multiple servers are involved, manual patching is not even possible.
Patch manager also takes care of conditions for patching; we can have our scripts run in case we need to, also run any pre or post steps for the patches to apply successfully. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The GUI is similar to other Solarwinds products; I would have preferred it to be unique and intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Patch manager was great when pushing out Microsoft updates and the other approved vendor updates supported by Solar Winds. This was very useful when keeping within compliance and made patching easy by creating deployment groups. By creating different deployment groups, we were able to update our systems within a timely fashion and without overloading our network during peak times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Although most updates were easy to deploy, we had issues sending updates through Patch manager if you're attempting to push out 3rd party updates which are not officially approved by Solar Winds. There have been products by certain vendors where Patch Manager could not detect the version differences properly and would not update the software. This process to get the proper file versions identified through Patch manager could be easy, but there have been times where I've spent weeks testing to see if the version differences would be identified properly. If you absolutely need your 3rd party vendor updates pushed by Patch Manager, be ready for a lot of trial and error tests to make this work. Out of 30+ vendor software applications used on our workstations, there are still 6-8 pieces of software which could not be identified properly. There's definitely a huge block of time needed to set this up, but once it's working, everything is great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This program seems very authentic to me since it contains alerts and notifications that allow me to be attentive to any circumstance. In addition to having very good customizable reports, which makes it much more interesting when creating them. The problems of network are easy to identify, allowing me to save time in investigating the causes of some problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The cost is a problem for small businesses or individuals, no doubt those, who are the just beginning to take into account that although it is an excellent solution to systematization problems, the costs can be overwhelming without a prior analysis of the demands of the company and individuals. It shows what patches are missing and if we have already a solutions working in place like WSUS etc, it also shows what patches were missed by them and their unavailability will cause vulnerability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing to dislike, so far. It has shown many things which i did not imagined. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love the ability to choose specifically what updates are installed on the servers and workstations I managed. I am responsible for over 2000 nodes, and Solarwinds patch manager makes patch management a breeze. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I am not find of the amount of time it takes to retrieve patch install status of machines. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This product integrates well with Microsoft products, which we use org wide, and other SolarWinds tools (we use remote desktop and manager functionality for our IT team). It also conveniently sends emails and updates on the status of all machines that our agency uses, which is around 200 computers/devices that are difficult to track otherwise. It can sometimes be slow and slow other device functionality when doing agency wide scans. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Patch Manager is great if you use Solarwinds N-Central or RMM. It has very thorough integration with both products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Patch Manager reporting is not very user friendly, and does not offer a ton of customization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy to use application and I've yet to have any major issues with it. Patching is easy to manage and tends to work without problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Error logging isn't great, so it's hard to tell why something fails when it does. This doesn't usually come up, but it does some times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The software is easy to use and integrated with my RMM tools. Very easy to understand and navigate. Information is very clear and precise. Gives standardized information I can easily relay further along the chain of command. Color coding allows the status to be viewed at a glance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Login and loading can be a little slow at times. With it integrated with my RMM, it may take a little time to navigate to as the different window panes have to reload. Have to navigate through several menus to find the status of all machines rather than just the one I have clicked on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
