## About PDQ Deploy & Inventory
PDQ Deploy & Inventory is a self-hosted, agentless endpoint management and patch automation solution that helps IT administrators scan, organize, and maintain Windows devices on on-prem and VPN-connected networks. Common use cases include: automated third-party patching and Windows Cumulative Update deployment, software inventory and compliance auditing, dynamic device group management, PowerShell script execution across targeted endpoints, and recurring maintenance automation for on-prem/on-network Windows fleets. PDQ Deploy & Inventory consists of two complementary tools sold under a single license. PDQ Inventory scans Windows devices across the network to collect hardware specifications, installed applications, OS versions, Active Directory attributes, and custom data defined via PowerShell Scanner. It automatically groups devices into dynamic collections based on criteria such as software version, disk space, or AD membership, and syncs with Active Directory to keep computer records current. PDQ Deploy uses those collections as deployment targets to push software, run scripts, and automate patch management on a defined schedule and silently, without interrupting end users. The Package Library provides 500+ prebuilt packages covering popular third-party applications and Windows Cumulative Updates for workstations and servers, maintained and tested by PDQ. Key features include: - Automated patch management: Schedule recurring deployments of third-party software and Windows Cumulative Updates to targeted device groups, with heartbeat-triggered retries for offline machines - Dynamic Collections: Device groups that update automatically based on defined inventory criteria, enabling precise and up-to-date deployment targeting - Custom packages and scripting: Build multi-step deployment packages, deploy executables/installers/msi packages, and execute PowerShell or batch scripts across targeted devices for configuration changes, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks - Reporting: Prebuilt and custom reports with scheduled, automated email delivery — commonly used for compliance audits and management reporting - Central Server mode: Connects multiple admin consoles to a single PDQ server, allowing IT teams to collaboratively manage packages, schedules, and deployment histories from their workstations Unlike PDQ Connect, PDQ's separate cloud-native, agent-based product for remote and hybrid fleets, PDQ Deploy & Inventory is purpose-built for on-prem and VPN-connected environments where devices are network-accessible. PDQ was founded in 2001 and is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. The company develops device management software purpose-built for Windows-focused IT teams, ranging from solo sysadmins to mid-sized IT departments. PDQ's product portfolio includes PDQ Deploy & Inventory for on-prem environments, cloud-native PDQ Connect for remote and hybrid fleet management, SmartDeploy for Windows imaging, SimpleMDM for Apple device management, ISL for remote access and remote desktop support, and PDQ Detect for vulnerability management. PDQ Deploy & Inventory is used by IT teams in education, government, manufacturing, healthcare, and finance. Licensed per administrator with unlimited endpoint access — not per device.

## PDQ Deploy & Inventory Reviews
 ### 1. Excellent Simple On-Network Deployment Tools

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darin H. | IT Helpdesk Technician, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2025

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Fast. Able to deploy using IP address and rapidly query installed apps for audits.

Multiple ways to setup credentials (deploy as other users, as admin, etc).

Relatively clean interface with advanced options but a straightforward path when you just need to query or deploy to a single endpoint.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

UI is a bit cluttered and scripting/automation could be a little simpler to build and test. Highly dependent on Active Directory services and DNS. If you have iffy DNS you will need to use IP address to bypass DNS queries that bring blank results.

If PDQ Deploy and Inventory integrated with PDQ Agent Services which are independent of your network and simply require an Internet connection, the product would be perfect.

As it is this is a part of your deployment and audit plan, not a "kitchen sink" solution that is completely self-contained.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This product allows us to audit existing deployed devices, and rapidly deploy and uninstall apps across our network.

 ### 2. Outstanding Experience with This Software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert P. | Chief Technology Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2026

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Able to keep internally approved software up to date using automation, which cuts down on IT task with a limit number of IT personnel.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Doesn't work for clients which are located outside the office but we use PDQ connect for those units.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

cuts down on IT task with a limit number of IT personnel.

 ### 3. If you only need on premise solution, this is it!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Youssef K. | IT-System Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2025

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

PDQ Deploy & Inventory offers an unbeatable combination of affordability and powerful Windows management. Its simple installation and maintenance, coupled with a wide range of features, make it highly attractive.

The agentless architecture, while beneficial, also introduces certain constraints for remote end-devices.

Inventory's ability to create and manage detailed groups and subgroups is a crucial asset for effective organization.

If your focus is on on-premises networks or you utilize a mandatory always-on VPN, PDQ is a reliable and efficient solution!

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

While PDQ Deploy & Inventory consistently meets our needs, the primary driver for exploring alternative solutions was the requirement to manage remote endpoints beyond our on-premises network. This limitation, rather than any inherent deficiency in PDQ itself, motivated our search for a more comprehensive solution.

However, if remote endpoint management is not a requirement, PDQ remains an excellent choice!

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a pivotal solution for IT teams managing Windows-based environments, particularly in mid-sized organizations. By automating software deployments, maintaining real-time hardware/software inventories and integrating natively with Active Directory, the platform addresses critical pain points around patch management, compliance reporting and operational efficiency.

 ### 4. A Life Saver

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael B. | Network Support Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2024

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I love the fact that I have many ways to deploy software and keep an accurate inventory for the 150 Windows computers I manage. I have real-time monitoring and tracking on how current and new deployments are going.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I can't think of anything I dislike about PDQ. It's an all in one package that just makes my job so much easier.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work in a public school in Western Australia. The Department of Education manages the whole network including putting Read Only Domain Controllers in every school. Since on-site technicians have only read access to the RODC, we were only able to deploy MSI packages and this meant a lot of work to convert various software packages over to MSI, and even then, it was hit and miss on whether they would work or not. Then, Adobe decided that Acrobat Pro could only be deployed through SCCM or via a script, neither of which we could access. Until PDQ came along that is. I heard about it around 10 years ago and tried the free version and was instantly hooked. I then wanted all the features and my school approved. I went from installing and troubleshooting almost every computer (almost 900 at the time) to remotely pushing out and troubleshooting packages. I could start scripting the deployments with very little effort. The reporting in Inventory is amazing and I was able to drill down to areas that needed my attention far more quickly. I went from a hair-tearing, angry technical support officer to a calm one. I was the sole technician at the school. PDQ saved my sanity.

The DoE eventually gave us SCCM/MECM online via a website they built. But any packages we create are not available for up to 24 hours as the RODC has to sync back to the DC at central, so none of us who use PDQ use it. We stayed with PDQ as everything is instant, and testing can be done quickly.

I now work at a very small school that caters to those with various disabilities and challenges. I look after about 300 devices, 150 of which are Windows devices. When I first started here, I put forward a proposal to subscribe to PDQ D&I and it was approved. Even if I was only looking after 50 computers, the package is still well worth the cost and you get your ROI back so fast you don't realise just how much time and effort you save.

 ### 5. Used PDQ Deploy & Inventory to deploy applications to desktops for over a year.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle D. | IT Infrastructure Support, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2024

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

PDQ Deploy & Inventory was extremely helpful for pushing out various applications to our fleet of desktops and laptops. It was convenient and time saving pushing out applications without needing to physcially be near the terminals.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

We were limited on PDQ resources since we were using the free version without a subscription.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the major problem of installing applications on a fleet of computers. We were able to use PDQ to push application installations onto multiple computers throughout our organization without having to physically be near the computers the entire time.

 ### 6. Love the Software! Makes my work in IT so much easier!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathanael H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2024

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I really like that the software is very simple and that it does not need much to start going. PDQ provides a lot of helpful videos on there YouTube channel, so for every problem I had, I found a solution there. I deploy nearly everything with it now and I like that it work across diffrent domains as well. I like that the packages such as Adobe are updated by PDQ regulary, so I do not need to search for new version and adapt them.
Also the error logs are easy to read and if something did not install the way I wanted, I know always what I need to change. The inventory option is also brilliant, especially, that I´m able to set my own variables and fill them automatically. This lets me creat whole automatic processes. Really love the software!

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I recently had a problem with the Service of PDQ Deply, that stopped every 3 minutes.
However, the new version fixed it and after this.
One minor thing that you need to take care of, is that if you work with diffrent credentials for a one time deployment, it changes the credentials for all other deployments htat follows.
If you forget to change it back, all automatic deployments run in to error.
This is annoying, because you cant set diffrent credentials for just one deployment and the others are unaffected by it.
Would appriciate if they change this.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It´s helping us setup new computers, implement new software, remove software and keep default software up to date as well as install client windows updates.
The available time for other task increased, since I am working with PDQ deloy and PDQ inventory.

 ### 7. Easy to deploy patch to the remote desktop and server

 ### 8. Indispensable product suite!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff P. | Network Admin, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2024

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I have immediate access to real-time information for essentially every one of the PCs on our network. The ability to immediately update computers that have been off of the network for an extended amount of time is cruial for security and network uniformity.

One of my primary job functions has become "The PDQ guy" due to licensing restraints. I use both Deploy and Inventory numerous times every day and am able to have a great overall concept of how our computers are running company-wide.

The flexibility to find out pretty much any left field piece of information about any computer within seconds is extremely useful when planning projects and making new purchases.

This software has become absolutely indespensible to me over the past few years. I wouldn't take a bullet for PDQ, but I would take numerous punches in the face if needed without question.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

While I'm sure there are some companies that only use one of the two products, it would seem natural for Invventory and Deploy to be condensed into one full-featured program instead of having 2 separate programs that need to talk to eachother. Being able to piggy-back PDQ connect onto that single unified program would be great.

While I think the pricing is fair, I don't love the licensing model. There are times where it would be convenient for my coworker to occasionally run a deployment, but his very limited usage wouldn't warrant doubling our PDQ expense. I understand that a line has to be drawn somwhere and this is likely better than a per-device model.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PDQ handles 100% of our patch management as well as many dozens of custom software deployment packages. With the evolving abilities to run remote commands and Powershell scripts, we can do pretty much everything we need to do without remoting into machines.

As mentioned before, the Inventory data that we can pull up at a moment's notice is always very impressive. If there isn't a baked-in way to find out what we need there's going to be a way to create our own tool to use with PDQ to get the info we need.

**Official Response from Keaton Wagner:**

> Glad to hear you wouldn't take a bullet for us — we don't want any blood on our hands.

Thanks for your thoughtful review. ❤️

 ### 9. PDQ is a timesaver

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shelby J. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2024

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

With PDQ we are able to visualize and coordinate maintenance of over 1600 devices between a relatively small and disparate IT support staff. By leveraging smart scans on inventory and automating deployments of crucial business software, we are able to eliminate time wasted on mundane, repetitive tasks, freeing up support hours for the more unique problems and most importantly allowing time to be proactive instead of reactive in our organization.

The ability to export and share content is also great, we have several groups using PDQ and we can share rules/filters/scans/reports very easily, so we can 'steal' things that work well.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Being limited to only AD connected devices on our network is the only real complaint. We have a lot of off-site users that are not connected via SD-WAN or VPN so we don't get as much visibility or control on about 15-20% of our devices.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Too many computers/users, not enough IT staff to support them

**Official Response from Keaton Wagner:**

> Thanks for the review, Shelby! Take a look at our new agent-based solution, PDQ Connect, to get at those pesky off-site users: https://www.pdq.com/pdq-connect/

 ### 10. PDQ Deploy and PDQ Inventory have been invaluable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan J. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2024

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

By using PDQ Deploy and PDQ Inventory I have been able to automate a great number of tasks. The ability to deploy to automatically grouped devices has been a huge time saver. Finding computers by user is something I use every day, and being able to identify devices by what software is installed, or by model, etc. has come up more times than I can count over the last few years.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Not much I dislike about this software, there are limitations sure, but nothing I actively dislike.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have it set to automatically push a number of applications, dependent on a number of different criteria. Most of them I don't have to think about anymore. I also use it for installing software for computer labs where certain applications aren't part of the imaging process. Being able to quickly identify computers, and connect via VNC, or quickly push software makes my time much more efficient.

**Official Response from Keaton Wagner:**

> Ya know, we can't say we actively dislike anything about you either, Jonathan. Thanks for the thoughtful review!

 ### 13. I'm sure there is a more expensive, far more confusing alternative provided by Microsoft

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Safety | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2024

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

The support. Whether it's a KB, a YouTube video, or an email, an answer for what I'm trying to do is 2 minutes away.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

The interface is a little dated. The UX is fine, it's just very clear this was designed by people who use the product rather than someone producing Apple commercials. This is fine.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Patches, deployments, identifying (and remediating) vulnerable software packages, and it's tied to our imaging solution.

Imaging went from a hands on multi hour process to 95% unattended, plug, click, click, type, click, go.

Patching and deploying user software generally involved interrupting a users work, taking a technician out of service for 15 to 45 minutes, and lots of "argh, I need to walk down there". It's now a scheduled deployment for after hours, an email reminding the user to leave their PC, on, but applicarions closed, and the technician is off to the next ticket.

**Official Response from Keaton Wagner:**

> I buried my Apple audition tapes deep in the earth for a reason. Thanks for the thoughtful review!

 ### 14. PDQ Deploy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2024

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

We have used PDQ deploy for various task and it is infact the awesome tool to get things done faster. Collection of package libaraby is the best in PDQ Deploy which makes it easier to get common task done faster in Windows environment. Custome scripts are very easy to execute and hence we use it very frequntly to get job done and saved many ours from tedious time consuming tasks. Sales and customer support are good and resposing quickly. Tutorial avaialble on the site for various task is also very helpful in implemenation of any new task.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

It does not work with mac OS. I wish it can integrate with our MDR solution to auto patch some the vulnerability existing in our system.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PDQ Deploy is big help in Windows update, 3rd party app update/patch, custom scripts to modify, add or remove Registry entries and various file operation like file copy, delete etc. With use of it we can saves many of technician hours to perform tedious time consuming tasks.

 ### 15. The Only Set of Tools Like This

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2024

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

It's really awesome to use. It's easy to set up, and it syncs with Active Directory, and you can also use direct IPs as well. There's pretty much 0 set up time, no clients on other PCs; all you gotta do is add a single client firewall exception, and you're off to the races. I use Inventory pretty much every day, and I find that it helps when I need to connect to a VNC client in a pinch. The community is fantastic, and they'll pretty much be able to answer any question quickly. Oh, and did I mention it's free? So what are you waiting for? Why haven't you tried it yet!?

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Sometimes it's a bit annoying when you have to set up the integrated service again after changing your DA password. I wish there was a simpler method that didn't involve force-closing the application, and then running it again.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I like how I am able to see all of the computers in my network easilly, which programs they have installed (and being able to install updates and new programs), their IPs, and whether or not they're online.

**Official Response from Keaton Wagner:**

> Loved your description of how easy it is to get up and running. If only it were so easy for us humans.

Thanks for the review!

 ### 16. PDQ Deploy and Inventory... Worth every penny

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dave H. | District Technology Support Specialist / Network Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2024

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Both PDQ Deploy and Inventory are worth evey penny you spend purchasing them for your school or business. They Help you keep your computers up to date, and easily mass deploy software. This makes is very easy, as you do not need to update individual computers one by one. Also you can take inventory of what software is on the computers, and havwe it keep them updates using a combination of both software packages (inventory & deploy). For our school dostrict, this saves a lot of time, with the numbers of desktop and laptop computers we have. Also, you can schedule updates and installs, so you do not need to be here to start the install/update. it also has a great library of updates, that stays up to date and you can use those to deploy to all of your computers. Very helpful!

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

There is nothing I do not like about either siftware.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keep our inventory up to date, so we can automatically update specific software when a computer checks in, and also schedule installs/updates on multiple computers at the same time.

 ### 17. Fantastic PC Management Tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2024

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Very easy to use and create packages, Inventory is also very easy to get machines in and scan and create collections to deploy apps. The heartbeat feature comes in incredibly useful when deploying new apps to the organisation, or for patch management to make sure apps are kept up to date that may not auto update.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I wish the on-premise apps supported permissions to lock certain people from making changes to packages. Also, DFS pull with LAPS doesn't work, it would be useful if the agent could login with the LAPS account but then use a different account to connect to the network share (or even the logged on user).

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have no thin clients, all users have full machines, so deploying apps previous to PDQ Deploy meant installing manually with the user. Now, this is all automated, and completely silent for the user. WSUS was also missing some machines, so PDQ fills those gaps. Other patch management is also very simple to see what is missing updates and what is not at a quick look at the different collections.

 ### 18. Excellence Experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan A. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2024

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I have been using PDQ for almost 10 years and have been very happy with it. The combination of PDQ Deploy and PDQ Inventory has been very helpful. Comparing this to SCCM, this product is a milion times easier to use. Deployments are instantaneous, easy to craft.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I would appreciate the ability to have a hold deployment 'hold' or wait for the machine to be powered on. Sometimes we have deployments overnight for clinical updates, and I would like to deployment to not be in a 'failed' state if the machine is offline. I would like it to just try again later that day. Having a heartbeat deployment is a little different as that just generates a new deployment.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it to patch software, and in particular deploying our main clinical app.

**Official Response from Keaton Wagner:**

> This was great feedback, Nathan! I've passed your comment about a deployment "hold" on to our product team. Thanks for the review!

 ### 19. Extremely useful, not great performance

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Farming | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2024

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

It makes deploying software and scripts across our environment of 300+ computers very convenient and easy to manage. The software itself is easy to deploy and creating new packages is a nice and easy step by step approach.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

The interface is very clunky. The program sometimes sits at the loading splash screen for minutes and then fails to launch. When it does open, clicking between screens isn't very smooth (we're using it on a Azure VM with considerable resources).

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We roll out new computers constantly, several per month. We have a set of standard applications that need to get deployed, and PDQ makes that process easy. When we need to push out an update, new script, or a simple shortcut, we go to PDQ and can usually count on it achieving that.

 ### 20. Easy to use tool for inventory management and program deployment

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2024

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Some of the most helpful features are the AD network scanning of our workstations. It's organized in a really helpful way and gives tools within PDQ to manage each workstation individually.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I would like to see some easier to use report functions. Perhaps a walk through on how to create a good report?

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Every 4 years we update our workstations and PDQ helps me easily manage our desktops and laptops to see and notify when each workstation is up on the cycle.

 ### 21. PDQ is the IT/Security Solution For Deploying Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2024

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I appreciate PDQ Deploy's efficiency in streamlining software deployment across our network, saving time and ensuring a seamless update process. The user-friendly interface and customizable deployment options make it a valuable asset for our organization's IT management.

**Reviewed by:** Andrew S. | Sr Sys Admin, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

There are several things that I really like about PDQ Inventory and Deploy.

First and foremost, I appreciate the efficiency and effectiveness of these tools. They have saved us significant time and effort in managing our IT assets and deployments.

I also appreciate the level of detail and customization available with these tools. The inventory component allows us to see a wide range of information about our devices and software, including hardware and software usage and trends. The deploy component allows us to schedule deployments for specific times and target specific devices, which has been extremely helpful in minimizing disruption for our users.

Overall, I think that PDQ Inventory and Deploy is an excellent suite of tools for IT management, and I highly recommend it to any organization looking to streamline their IT processes.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

To be honest, there isn't much that I dislike about PDQ Inventory and Deploy. I have found it to be a highly reliable and effective tool for managing our IT assets and deployments.

If I had to pick one thing that I might dislike, it would be that the interface can be a bit overwhelming at times, especially for users who are not familiar with it. However, this is a minor issue and can easily be addressed through training and practice.

Overall, I have been extremely satisfied with PDQ Inventory and Deploy and have not encountered any major issues or drawbacks while using it. So, I can't think of anything specific that I dislike about it.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PDQ Deploy & Inventory is an effective tool for managing our IT assets and deployments, improving efficiency, productivity, and problem-solving capabilities in our organization. It allows us to quickly and easily track and manage our hardware and software assets, as well as efficiently deploy updates and new software to our devices.

 ### 49. Does what it says

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert M. | Infrastructure Team Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

We use this tool to manage and deploy to our employees' workstations. Discovery and setup was very straightforward with excellent integration with Active Directory. Workstations are easily sorted in Collections, where you can create Dynamic Collections and collect Machines based on a number of useful filters such as Operating System. Applications installed, Hostname, IP Address and much more. You can easily have collections of only servers, desktops in a particular office, AWS Workstations, machines with MS Office installed etc..

With these collections, you can fine-tune where you have specific reports and then deploy certain software or have updates enforced and much more. Apart from software one can even deploy firewall rules, powershell commands, copy files and more. This tool made managing machines and audits a pleasure since you can schedule reports and ensure everything is fully up to date.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

There's not much negative that can be said about this tool. We have tried similar tools in the past with much worse results. There are sometime hiccups and machines which won't connect and you have to troubleshoot but overall we are very satisfied and these incidents have been sparse.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to ensure at a minimum that all machines are kept up to date with OS and software patches especially since lately so many critical security flaws are being discovered. We also use this to generate reports which keep auditors and management satisfied.

 ### 50. Happy Customer!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick U. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

We have been using this as the primary way we patch all of our software and cumulative windows software for over 2 years. We how easy it is to create an automated deployment. Using Inventory is easy to create automated weekly/monthly reports on our inventory. Overall, we are very satisfied with the price point as well.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

The only issues I really have are now that some of our work force is becoming Hybrid. These users rarely VPN into the network, so I have to look for alternative options to manage mobile devices, tablets, and these roaming laptops. The price point still works for us as I use PDQ to manage all of our internal desktops and kiosk type machines that never leave the network. I also use it when setting up my machines to automate the installs of 3rd party software based on specific groups like engineering, office user, plant employee, etc.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PDQ Deploy & Inventory are helping me automate a lot of daily, weekly, and monthly tasks. It's an efficient way to keep third party software up to date (as long as it's part of the Package Library). It also excels at creating inventory reports.
