What do you like best about Smartcat?
It is relatively easy to navigate and utilize. The software is very clear and simple to track with through the course of my work on a text. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What do you dislike about Smartcat?
I have had some issues around with the "word-wrap" of Tibetan texts that I work with. Typically this is resolved through adjusting the widow of my browser, but there has been at least one time where there is some deeper issue and we cannot resolve the problem with the source text and several lines were persistently illegible. Still, this does not over-shadow the utility and elegance of the program as it relates to translation memory. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Smartcat?
If you're looking for a CAT tool with the latest widgets, buttons, and features ready from the get-go, you might be disappointed here. While this tool certainly has enough meat on its bones to get the job done from most angles, the core of SmartCat is in its simplicity: it encourages buyers to purchase services from freelance translators in a non-terrifying way. If you look at resources like Proz or do a Google search, despite the availability and readiness of translators all over the world, the barrier-to-entry for the new buyer is daunting and almost off-putting. This platform/community/eco-sphere is important to connect service provider to buyer. Functional and educational at the same time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What do you dislike about Smartcat?
The editor itself needs to grow in terms of spellcheck/auto-populate/auto-suggest/track repetitions. Compared to the top CAT-tools specifically, linguist workflow and efficiency is still a bit slow. This upgrade is important to keep translators/editors engaged and excited in the tool. The other area for improvement would be custom service. The SC crew has always been the best of the best, but I think adding numbers to their staff might help take tech support email turnaround from 2-3 days down to 1, perhaps. the project management system is quite ok, that's the reason I started using their platform. But they deleted my content without warning me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

No matter how good the translation is, if the platform can spontaneously delete your content, then why bother using it?
Plus the team was super aggressive, they spammed different email accounts of your company domain just to get an answer from you. When you politely told them to back off, they continued to spam you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
