What do you like best about SimplyMerit?

Loved that it was a live system allowing multiple users at the same time. This allowed us to move away from managing spreadsheets and keeping version control. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SimplyMerit?

No at-a-glance dashboard to show how much was spent on merit, promotion, and adjustments. We exported the data and created a dashboard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is SimplyMerit solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are working through the budget setup. SimplyMerit could not split out the merit & promo/adjustments budget and then provide the total roll-up.

We can see a total % increase and total dollar increase by person when the data is exported.

Is there a better way to identify ineligible employees, while still leaving them in the budget

Benefits realized - Overall, we saved numerous hours managing /combining spreadsheets to calibrate with managers and then rolling it up. The tool was intuitive and easy to train managers. SimplyMerit customer support was very responsive and helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about SimplyMerit?

*Great interface to use

*Customer support is awesome

*Can have multiple complex bonus plans

*Very customizable! We can change the names of some fields to make them our own

The only thing I can think of is that we are unable to create the letters on our own. But customer support is very fast with producing the letter templates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about SimplyMerit?

We were able to upload all necessary data such as prior compensation history and compensation bands, which allowed managers to make informed decisions for their team. The support we received was responsive and we were able to provide comprehensive training prior to inviting managers. Overall the team found SimpleMerit to be a helpful tool and relatively intuitive to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SimplyMerit?

Equity, bonus, and salary are all split out on different tabs, so some managers needed additional coaching to ensure they completed all three sections. We wished there was some additional flexibility around locking certain cells, for example, we loaded in market adjustments that we did not want managers to be able to edit, but we could not lock the field. It was relatively simple to cross-check throughout the cycle but I think having the ability to control what fields can be edited and what fields are locked (market adjustments, performance ratings, etc.) would be a nice to have feature. What do you like best about SimplyMerit?

The customer support and responsiveness has been really great.

In terms of user interface it is very intuitive and easy for our managers to use and a huge step up from a spreadsheet-based process.

We always get our questions answered very quickly, even if the answer is "we can't add that functionality at this time". I've used other platforms where they either overpromise on functionality / customization or give unclear timeframes as to when things can be changed / added. This can make planning and designing a compensation process extra difficult given the training/communication aspects to managers of using a tool.

With SimplyMerit, I find they can often accommodate customization requests and if they can't, they are clear about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SimplyMerit?

The tool is still mostly geared toward merit. For a company that fully utilizes bonus and equity planning cycles, those functionalities are not as fleshed out as the merit portion is.

Very minor items like not being able to lock the scrolling when you have many fields in the planning panel was an issue for some managers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering SimplyMerit:

Given the relatively low cost, what they can do, and the level of customer support and engagement, I would recommend SimplyMerit to any smaller sized company looking to step up from a manual/spreadsheet based approach. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is SimplyMerit solving and how is that benefiting you?

Our goal is for managers to have more ownership and for planning to go down to the first line manager. SimplyMerit has greatly moved the needle for our company in that respect. Our first year (without a tool), almost all planning was held to the Director/VP level. We've managed to increase participation and ownership for planning and decision making with each cycle we've used SimplyMerit for.

In addition, this has greatly reduced the manual and administrative work that was required previously including tracking multiple spreadsheets and versions and creating mail merge letters for employees. What do you like best about SimplyMerit?

The team that sold us SimplyMerit implemented it! Everything they promised was delivered & with white-glove service (not all HR systems can do that even though they promise it!) They were there in the details with me during implementation as an extension of our HR team. I was also impressed with how quickly it was implemented! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SimplyMerit?

I can't think of anything! It was incredibly customizeable. The only thing I can think of (which is more an issue of our internal team) is that I wish I could auto-approve everything at once because our managers aren't the best systems users and I had to go through and approve several for them. What problems is SimplyMerit solving and how is that benefiting you?

We haven't found a system that actually did what we needed (layered market adjustment, promotion, merit increases together but kept them and reported them separately) Other tools just werent customizeable enough for us. What do you like best about SimplyMerit?

What do you like best about SimplyMerit?

It was a simple and easy implementation. Also, managers were easily able to navigate the tool with minimal assistance from Human Resources. SimplyMerit provided documented instructions on how to implement the tool and tutorials for managers. It was great having those resources available rather than having to reach out to SimplyMerit for help. When I did need help from SimplyMerit, the team was always readily available. Recommendations to others considering SimplyMerit:

SimplyMerit does everything you need to increase the dollar or percentage amount for merit, bonus, stock options, and stock options. I have implemented other tools before and implementation support was always challenging to receive. SimplyMerit was always readily available to connect with me over video or phone to assist me with any technical issues I had. If you have limited time to implement a merit tool, little time to provide training to managers, and a limited budget, then SimplyMerit is the tool purchase. The implementation was within a week at most. I provided managers with the resources SimplyMerit already had in place. SimplyMerit can also offer live training. What problems is SimplyMerit solving and how is that benefiting you?

My main concerns and priorities when looking for a new compensation tool were: automation and cost. I had previously used spreadsheets to manage merit for several hundred employees. It was a very manual process and prone to error. SimplyMerit automated the whole process and helped maintain accurate information. In addition, the tool itself was affordable. What do you like best about SimplyMerit?

As an administrator of the Simply Merit tool I find the data upload template is lengthy with many fields not relevant to our organization and I wish I had the ability to customize emails sent from the tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
