What do you like best about Silverware?

very straightforward. easy to use, easy to train. lots of functionality for splitting bills and types of service. back office is incredibly intuitive and user-friendly compared to other POS systems I've used. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Silverware?

Silverware needs to up their game with customer service. Their support staff can be helpful, but you're never sure what you're going to get and it's next to impossible to get the same person on the phone if you have to call in again, which is time-consuming and frustrating to always have to re-explain the issues. Have also tried to expand into Reservations and the sales people are absolutely terrible at getting back to you, especially considering we're trying to give them more money! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Silverware:

A word of warning that you can't actually access your own back-BACK office of the software on your own - you ALWAYS need to call support and they can log in and work on it. I think it's really weird that you don't have total control over something you have purchased for your own company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Silverware solving and how is that benefiting you?

easy interface between Silverware and our PMS allows us a pretty seamless room billing option that works in real time. Lots of flexibility with posting to different revenue classes as well, which helps keep our accounting more streamlined. Working on a mobile options, which has been somewhat helpful, but still trying to work out the kinks over a year later... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Silverware?

I've used Silverware for the past 3 years in our hotel restaurant/bars. I found the system to be very user friendly both for the servers and on the back end (creating buttons, schedules, reporting, etc). Support was responsive and quick, but most issues I could solve myself. Implementation and training was a breeze. By the second implementation, I could basically do it all myself. I would use this system again. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Silverware?

Integrations can become costly and some are a little glitchy. Besides that, most other issues we've had were easily solved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Silverware solving and how is that benefiting you?

Robust reporting capabilities helped to keep everyone in the loop in our multi-outlet business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Silverware?

Silveware is a very user friendly point of sale system that is easy to navigate. The system allows the admin a quick way to add or delete items. There are many useful features such as the time clock and recipes that we like. I have seen Silverware in several other local establishments Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Silverware?

Back office isn't very useful for us. We do most of our back office stuff at the main terminal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Silverware:

It is an easy system to set up and use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Silverware solving and how is that benefiting you?

Silverware solves our front of house servers needs and getting the correct orders sent to the bar and the kitchen. For validation below I took a snapshot of our bank statement showing the monthly maint fee that comes out of our bank account for Silverware. I am out of town and can not get a screen shot of being logged in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Andrew Kritiotis of Silverware

Thank you for your review - we're glad you found Silverware very user friendly and easy to navigate!

What do you like best about Silverware?

Front end is very easy and straightforward to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Silverware?

Lack of any real actionable data or analytics.

Service/Support levels were previously lacking, but that has improved significantly in the last 12 months. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Silverware:

Have a clear and concise understanding of what they have integrated to and what they can or are willing to integrate to and get it in writing.

Make certain you are not stuck paying a monthly "licensing" fee/location for every individual API, most providers include integrations at no cost as part of their systems maintenance fees, Silverware does not and instead typically charges monthly per integration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Silverware solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have not used Silverware to "solve" any needs outside of basic POS requirements.

Previously trying to get any third party software integrated was a hassle almost as though it was bothersome or a burden, this has improved slightly in the last 6 to 12 months but still has a long way to go. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Silverware?

The system is intuitive, not terribly complex to administer, and is capable of almost any configuration that works for you. It connects to our KDS and can integrate to our hotel's PMS system as well as a variety of other integrations that streamline our operations. As far as security goes, they use a strong encryption solution that reduces our PCI footprint, which cuts on cost and effort. Because it's cloud hosted rather than local, we can offer more flexibility to managers and finance who need reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Silverware?

The Clover Flex units, if you choose to use them, can create some server distress as they learn the hardware, and it's still not that common to have pay-at-the-table in the US, so a small minority of customers find it awkward. The scheduling is not totally there yet, so we couldn't use it to remove HotSchedules. We did notice some faults with the menu translation from the terminal screens to the Flex that required additional support. Print Routing is a lot more complex than in our previous systems, but it also has automatic failover and other features that remove the need to modify routing as often. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Silverware:

Go the extra mile to train people and provide documents for training. The Flex will be a huge shift for experienced servers, and not handling that well will ultimately hurt morale in a big way Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Silverware solving and how is that benefiting you?

Silverware offers a cloud-hosted solution that delivers on POS and reporting. The Flex units offer new ways to see efficiencies in our waitstaff as well as our finance teams. Enterprise Menu Management offers a better controlled approach to working with our menu. Overall, it has moved us forward in how we operate our food and beverage operations Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Andrew Kritiotis of Silverware

Hi Shaun!

Thank you for your kind review, we're happy to hear you're finding our cloud-based solutions useful!

What do you like best about Silverware?

It is a very user friendly POS system to use. Both at store level and management. It is great to use on the back end to pull various reports that are useful to me as the CFO. They work in a very timely matter as well, from first filling out a new store questionnaire to ordering the equipment to shipment, the system has been seamless. They also offer many different options for a restaurant, from Ipad ordering at tables, to screens in the kitchen. All of these things are improving the speed at which can get food out and also is cutting down on errors made when server writes down order and then goes and punches into POS system. We have found these new systems very beneficial and are very happy with them all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Silverware?

nothing it is a great POS system. The customer service needs some improvement, they do not always help in a timely fashion and have been rude to us on occasion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Silverware:

it would be great to anyone in with numerous restaurants that wants to pull reports from stores individually and as a group as a whole. The implmentation has been great with all of our new locations and quick deliver of the products.n Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Silverware solving and how is that benefiting you?

Looking up past checks and tracking fraud issues. We can track by employee, date, check number, so it is very beneficial when we suspect a fraud issue. Also increased speed of getting food out to guests, with Ipad ordering and screens in the kitchen. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Andrew Kritiotis of Silverware

Hi Sheelah!

We're extremely happy to hear we're helping you solve fraud issues and that you've increased the speed of your service! Thank you for your review!

What do you like best about Silverware?

The system is user friendly and is easy to add specials or new menu items to. There are many reports that can be acquired to compare sales, see how many customers come in, what the avg sale is and when your busy & slow times are. Tech support has been very helpful when needed. It's great that you can carry the ipad from table to table and input orders faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Silverware?

We had an issue with it using up all of our hard drive space at first, took a while to resolve the issue, but its working well now. I just wish we were able to get the dales directly into quickbooks. System does tend to go down or stop working right in the middle of a transaction Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Silverware solving and how is that benefiting you?

The wait time for customers is reduced. You are able to pull up reports on just about anything the system does Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Silverware?

We have been using Silverware since August of 2000. It has been consistently stable and a solid workhorse for us. We originally and continually use the program in three separate retail environments. Although not as a food service app the software completely fills our needs. Selling gifts (scanned items), candy(scale items), and or everything from fresh fruit to coffee the program just plain works. In the last year we have utilized integrated credit card processing which is quicker than anything else we have used in the past. Service is always there and able to correct the our issues.... (Not like NCR /Aloha which struggles to correct their confusion). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Silverware?

Program needs a next dollar cash acceptance option (Example: check total is $3.28... register should give the $4.00 cash accepted option.) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Silverware:

give it a try Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
