SEMRush gives you more then a hand full of tools. From SEO over Content Marketing and Social Media - SEMRush normally is the only Suite agencies or businesses will need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
SEMRush is expensive and absolutely not looking good. Where functionality is in power the design is destroying everything. Of course the result matters. And results are always good, but often tools are very hidden or hard to find because of the MASS of informations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

So easy to use, DETAILED analytics, super reliable. In almost 2 years of using the platform it never goes down. The tracker abilities and analytical reporting are incredible and so easy to use, much better than other social media software tools I've used. The calendar is extremely friendly and just flows together, all of it wraps in well and JUST MAKES SENSE. That's one of biggest issues I've seen with other software, data and action points are all over the place. Analytics are great, I have to show yearly reports and semrush makes that incredbily easy. Tools seems to be updated every so often, but the features aren't always the greatest. It's good to see an evolving tool though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's a lot of "N/A" on certain reporting analytics, but that is pretty understandable. Being very picky here, but I think when looking at data over a year or more, the program lacks on the reporting. That being said, I don't think Meta or LinkedIn keep much data past a year, so pretty understandable. I would really enjoy more updates, and definitely try to have more tracker ablilites on LinkedIn. That was a huge loss for us. Customer support is lacking, with the FEW issues we've had, it's hard to get in contact with one account manager, and they seem to change out frequently. There are way too many aspects to modern marketing to NOT have some type of platform to manage it all. Semrush IS that platform. It gives you all the tools you need to optimize and track the effectiveness of your marketing campaigns beyond what the typical Analytics tools provide.
It has been indispensable for SEO & SEM Management, and we have just begun using its Social Media capabilities and are using some tools and receiving some insights we did not have access to before. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's definitely a learning curve and integrations that require some technical know-how, so it may be a bit too advanced for some. Though the pricing is affordable even for small businesses, the costs can quickly ramp up when adding more of the additional a la carte options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Being an SEO consultant, I've tried a TON of other SEO tools and nothing compares to Semrush. I use it literally everyday. I love the depth of data they have, how easy it is to nvaigate and connect different tools together, and just how powerful it is at helping me see the gaps in my client's marketing strategies. Also a big fan of the AI updates they've made recently. In terms Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I do wish there was a "light" version so that I could recommend the tool to my DIY SEO students who don't have a huge budget and don't need all the bells & whistles, but would definitaly use the Keyword Magic Tool all the time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Allows us to see our digital marketing footprint. What works, what doesn't, what needs to be adjusted or improved. It provides a complete picture for our company to create further reach to our targeted audience. The Social AI tools are also impressive. It helps when running into "writers block" to find new ideas and have all of our analytics in one place along with scheduling systems instead of buying other additional tools.
The overall experience is easy to use, simple to implement and integrate into Google analytics as well as the overall website and social media profiles. Allowing us to see our short comings as well as our competitors strengths in one platform helps tremendously to close the gap or expand our market leading presence. I log in daily to use this tool even though SEO is a long term strategy. The helpful tips, guides, and strategy suggestions that are provided is an added bonus beyond what our current strategy entails. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The price point for small businesses can be a bit steep beyond the base level subscription. Those insights are incredibly valuable, so I understand the price. There's also a lot of additional add-ons that are good to have but not included in the base or even in some of the upper level subscriptions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like all the areas it provides, from SEO, Content, and Social. I also find it helpful that they have started coming out with AI content options. If we didn't have our own copywriters, I would definitely trial the AI features for sure. This is the only platform I use currently, I find it easy to navigate once figuring out where everything resides. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Extremely high-cost features. For example, the competitive research cost seems outrageous, especially for a small family-owned business. Sometimes, the Position Tracking Data doesn't seem to add up. And I use the Social Media poster, it used to create a snippet photo when adding a YouTube link in the post box, and now it does not - which is quite frustrating. The abundance of analytical tracking within Semrush is definitely the bet thing for us, as the manager of over 15 websites it's easy for me to see the direct correlations between the content we publish for clients and the impact this has on the website and social media traffic, using this information we are able to better optimise the content in future to ensure maximum traffic is achieved. I frequently speak to the customer support on Semrush to suggest new features and to aid my working style, the discussions I've had have always been beneficial and have quick responses. When onboarding new staff, Semrush has been simple enough to teach and new staff have picked up the software to make it part of their day to day operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have spoken to the support of Semrush who have promised me this is coming but bulk edits for report integrations is a must! Occasionally the stats do disconnect which can be annoying to fix but for the most part Semrush doesn't have any downsides, the features they implement work well and it is constantly being improved upon. I'd say that there are 2 top things about Semrush that won me over.
1) The amount of tools and features inside the platform that can be used for all kinds of SEO and analytics in general. You practically don't need anything else.
2) Before purchasing Semrush for our brand, I wasn't really familiar with SEO, so I had to learn it from scratch. And I literally did it by watching Semrush courses and reading tons of educational articles in the blog. The educational materials were so clear, detailed, and easy to understand - I didn't even think about opening any other websites. Plus, everything is free! I genuinely feel like I learned a lot and became a better specialist.
This free education part is such a nice touch that it made me convince our leadership to purchase the subscription. It is absolutely invaluable! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only thing that I found lacking was diversity in best practices.
It feels like the majority of On-Page SEO-related tools and education articles are focusing on a specific kind of business with a long lifespan content. For example, blogs and e-commerce websites with articles sections.
Since our business is in media and mostly does news articles, all Keyword Research tools and suggested best practices don't really work for us. So, it would be nice to get more information on how to do SEO for different kinds of businesses. Maybe also some industry specific features? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

SEMRush has been a game-changer in driving measurable results for our marketing efforts. Within three months of integrating it, we saw a 25% increase in organic traffic and identified over 200 high-value keywords that aligned with our target audience. The platform’s competitor analysis uncovered gaps in our strategy, enabling us to capture market share in areas we previously overlooked.
Its PPC tools helped us optimize ad campaigns, cutting our cost-per-click by 18% while boosting click-through rates by 22%. The content optimization features have been invaluable, helping us refine over 50 pieces of content and improve our rankings for critical industry terms.
The real-time visibility it provides into performance metrics makes decision-making faster and more informed. SEMRush doesn’t just offer insights—it delivers actionable data that translates into tangible growth. For any CMO serious about scaling digital marketing efforts, SEMRush is the ultimate ally. SEMRush is powerful, but it can feel overwhelming at first, especially for new users. The pricing might also be a bit steep for smaller teams. While its data is generally reliable, occasionally, it may need cross-checking for niche markets. Despite these minor drawbacks, its value and impact are undeniable. First of all, I've tried various tools and subscriptions when it comes to content scheduling and social media analytics.
None had the ease of use as Semrush - their dashboard can be a bit overwhelming at first as it includes much more than their content scheduler and analytics - it's just drag and drop, and you can schedule recurring content for years to come (for example, for my job as a content creator I have to post "anniversary/celebration" posts every year but using Semrush I can schedule content well far into the time, helping me taking off a massive weight when it comes to the bore that content scheduling is.
At the same time, it was really easy to implement into my workflow. I already had everything organized on a Notion board and I just took it into Semrush (you can bulk schedule content, which is invaluable).
Other platforms/subscriptions offer the possibility to schedule content on various social media platforms but usually it's limited to 2 or 3 social media accounts. For Semrush you can link up to 10 different ones from X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook and Tiktok (one thing I requested to their customer support - I sent an email suggesting it so I was happy to see it implemented a couple of months later).
I use Semrush for a personal project - which has daily posts scheduled there -, my agency, Uzumibi Agency as well as my personal accounts (as I'm an author as a hobby).
I can only say that Semrush priced their product well and offer a ton of valuable things in it that I used daily - scheduler, analytics and even the content ideas tab which is amazing to be up to speed with new content I need to cover.
There's nothing complicated when it comes to the integration of Semrush, the platform is easy to use, the UI is a bit intimidating, I'll admit, but once you get the hang of it, it's an amazing tool for content creators on a budget such as myself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes, the profiles disconnect or have errors that aren't weird. I've scheduled content on Pinterest and X/Twitter that ended up getting errors before saying it couldn't post and was going to try a different date and the error persisted to the point that I couldn't delete the error mention and had to manually create the post again - which would immediately post to the social media platform in question.
At the same time, I'd say I don't like the ads they put on your UI. I'm using the content scheduler and I don't want to have an ad - which I've closed before - open again to try a new tool (which is expensive). When you pay for a subscription/tool you shouldn't be getting any ads, even if those are upselling. And if someone closes the ad, it should register as that instead of appearing again, one week later, annoying me while occupying so much space in the UI to the point that it is intrusive.
Now, this is less about the tool and more about the company. I'm an individual contractor based in Portugal and I need to list all my work expenses for tax purposes. Semrush doesn't issue invoices with a valid VAT number in Europe and as such, I can't include this as a work expense. That's a massive draw back for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I almost exclusively use Semrush social for its post scheduling and analytic capabilities. It's also a huge help to keep the platforms I need to use to a minimum.
Connecting the available platforms to Semrush is straightforward and I've rarely encountered issues with publication. Depending on my workload, I use the feature between once a week and every day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Currently, Semrush social doesn't have YouTube as an integration and along those same lines, the features for the use of video are somewhat limited. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
