What problems is Salsa CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?

Salsa Labs is providing the web services for donations for Wreaths Across America - Houston. This organization provides a live Maine wreath at the graves in the Houston National Cemetery at Christmas, and a portion of the money raised by non-profits is retained by those groups. SInce 15 October my Kiwanis club has asked Salsa Labs to resolve problems of login, logins which revert to the program last year, logins which say we have no fundraiser to manage, etc. One MONTH later there is absolutely no resolution and soon we will have no more time left to raise funds for this very worthwhile project. Sadly many of the graves in the cemetery of our military heroes will have no wreath.

Salsa Labs has been totally irresponsible on this project and I can only hope at this point they offer some restitution to the Wreaths organization. I personally would not recommend Salsa Labs for anything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Salsa CRM?

The The ability to track multiple emails and addresses. But that is also part of the software's downfall. Getting cumulative giving data based on queries doesn't work because it multiplies giving by the number of addresses for a constituent. Gift count doesn't work either. What do you dislike about Salsa CRM?

The biggest problem with CRM is that it has a difficult time with queries. Many give inaccurate information. The logic for these queries is not that same as is used for reports, so you cannot confirm info yourself in a usable way. I have many times tried to get these problems fixed through support, but I am still waiting after a year for any real update that fixes the problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

CRM can household members of the same family and that does help with direct mail solicitations. But if you want to segregate list, you wind up relying on queries. That makes good segregation impossible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Salsa was very easy to use and navigate. It made collaborating and keeping things organized simple among a team. I especially enjoyed the tracking and communication features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The more opportunities for linking Salsa with other software the better. Trying to make different systems "talk" to each other would be helpful. Also linking it to social media would be helpful too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Salsa CRM?

I like that we have one location for all donor history and records. Being able to pull up a customer's account and see how and why they have given over the last few years is very helpful in how we target them for future campaigns. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Salsa CRM?

We did not have any guidance in setting up our account at the beginning so there were some complications with how appeals/campaigns/funds were set up and now they are "stuck". It is also very challenging to have a donor sign up for an appeal in Engage and not be able to reallocate or make changes to those funds in CRM, monthly giving is a great example of that. We had donors sign up to be recurring givers in various appeals (Giving Tuesday, Holidays, etc.) and now they can't make changes to the amounts without a cancel and restart, nor can we change what "bucket" they are in so we can track better. What do you like best about Salsa CRM?

Salsa CRM keeps our donor data organized. It is easy to run queries on our data so that we can make data-driven decisions in our organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Salsa CRM?

Salsa CRM has some features that seem to be relics left behind from earlier versions of the app. It would be nice if Salsa either showed users how to utilize those features or if Salsa removed those features so they were cluttering up the app. Those "relic features" also can confuse new users. Recommendations to others considering Salsa CRM:

I would definitely recommend Salsa CRM for a small or mid-sized non-profit looking to organize their donor data. There is a slight learning curve to figure out the system. However, Salsa provides online "courses" and tutorials that are designed to help you figure out the system and feel comfortable. Definitely, don't skip the tutorials. In addition, Salsa Engage, their online tool, pairs very nicely with the CRM and is a breeze to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Our donor data is all in one place, and it is organized. I can easily retrieve information on specific donors or specific campaigns. What do you like best about Salsa CRM?

That the engage platform speaks to the CRM platform and that the technicians are so happy to help me and are patient with my lack of knowledge. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Salsa CRM?

As a member-supported NP, (like many I am sure) that creating a form for online purchases of membership does not communicate with the membership field in CRM and update that data automatically. It is also no conducive to people who purchase memberships for others and the workaround is cumbersome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have solved a lot of problems at my agency in regards to antiquated ways of collecting data and put tracking interaction on the map, which did not even exist before.
