What I truly like as an accomplice is that Rootstock is a develop Cloud ERP Platform arrangement that gets every one of the advantages of the Salesforce stage. Work by ERP veterans, which utilized their bundled arrangement information to make a fresh out of the plastic new ERP environment. Modules like the Salesforce Sales Cloud, Avalara, ZenKraft, FinancialForce and numerous others that all keep running on a similar stage. Therefore, the execution system is increasingly nimble then when utilizing bundled arrangements and we had the capacity to abbreviate usage lead times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Right now not by any means any significant aversions, yet perhaps an interesting point is that for further developed Supply Chain Demand Planning an extra arrangement is required. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Rootstock, in combination with their integration with FinancialForce.com, provides us a complete ERP package that allows us to grow and customize changes as we need. Although it was built primarily as an MRP application, we have been able to tweak it with Rootstock to make it suitable for our job-shop environment.
The project environment, once understood, is a powerful way to manage the business.
We now have a streamlined process where we can convert a won Salesforce Opportunity to Sales Order and Work Order without double entry. Then we buy and issue material to the job, build/print the shop router, and track all labor/direct/indirect costs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Locked user interfaces:
Rootstock developed their pages almost entirely in Visualforce. This makes for some neat functionality, but the downside within the managed package environment is that this reduces the end-user's ability to customize pages. There is a lot of "clutter" -- fields that don't pertain to our business -- and we are not able to remove or rearrange the coded Visualforce pages. There are some objects that can be overridden, but it is a large effort and often clunky (unexpected errors that need to be sorted out with Rootstock Support) implementing.
Rootstock has put a lot more resources into customer satisfaction over the last few years. It is definitely helping. I give them credit for listening to customer needs and making positive changes.
-PO Requisitions for service items is not currently available, despite being on the roadmap. No target date provided.
-Their new app RootScan is designed to transact Rootstock on mobile. This comes at a hefty premium price. I do not think they should be charging a premium for RootScan.
-Integration between Rootstock and FinancialForce could use improvement:
COGS is tracked in Rootstock properly broken out as we like among Material, Labor, and Other Costs. However, Rootstock sends only one bundled COGS amount to FinancialForce which means our Financial statements cannot be broken out the way we are used to seeing it.
UPDATE: Rootstock now has a great distribution feature that solved for this problem (which we paid for).
Hardened objects is a real problem for salesforce customization. It limits our ability to do standard workflow automation, list view in-line edits, and much more. This is all to do with the complexity of Rootstock pages and their code.
We could do more with Rootstock if all objects that our end-users use were hardened. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Rootstock has extensive functionality with configuration options. Training & documentation are excellent Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As with all systems, it is complex enough to make it seem cumbersome to some users, but that degree of functionality is what allows it to serve many types of users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I really like as a partner is that Rootstock is a mature Cloud ERP Platform solution that brings in all the benefits of the Salesforce platform. Build by ERP veterans, which used their packaged solution knowledge to create a brand new ERP ecosystem. Modules like the Salesforce Sales Cloud, Avalara, ZenKraft, FinancialForce and many others that all run on the same platform. As a result, the implementation methodology is more agile then when using packaged solutions and we were able to shorten implementation lead times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
At the moment not really any major dislikes, but maybe something to consider is that for more advanced Supply Chain Demand Planning an additional solution is needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Rootstock is a complete ERP system with exceptional functionality from the manufacturing and supply chain management side.
All information is highly visible at all levels - great depth of reporting and search functionality brings all information to a single screen.
Software is also very customizable (using Salesforce side). Large variety of third party consultants, partners, add-ons, and other resources due to Salesforce's popularity.
Great improvements in customer service in the last couple of years. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Rootstock benefits from the Salesforce integration and platform, but Data costs on Salesforce are quite high for large enterprises.
Interface can be non-intuitive for some users, it is important to really drive end-user training during the pilot/launch period to ensure all functions are understood. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We ended up changing our business model several times over the last three years. Our Implementation Services Team Roger Brown and Dan Ramey did an excellent job of working with our team to put together a really light weight implementation process. This was key to our success as we ended up changing our business frequently. Rootstock was able to accommodate the changes quickly and efficiently. And our implementation team was very knowledgeable and quick to respond and resolve issues. This great combination allowed us to reconfigure out business model several times with a minimal cost and short timelines. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Rootstock met all of our requirements. Some of the users thought that they process was a bit heavy and required a lot of clicks to get through some transactions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Positive and negatives but developing financial functionality still required. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As a native application on the salesforce.com cloud platform, it is a straight-forward project to deploy Revenova TMS (transportation management system) alongside to provide an integrated freight quoting, tracking and management solution. The Rootstock team was easy to work with and very collaborative in delivering the integrated solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As an integration partner, we've had a highly positive experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the fact that Rootstock is focusing on its core industry. Their strategy mostly related to manufacturing is great and is a game changer for all Non-Cloud ERP manufacturer users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some limitations on roles and access to objects that could be enhanced. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
