Improvements needed: -
1. System lags a lot, we need to open multiple screens to work.
2. Multiple sub-screens are getting opened to update a single piece of information.
3. Needs a separate chat window for the messages sent by the customer. It becomes challenging for us to search the chat between the task notifications.
4. In the project dashboard screen, after opening the project and completing the task, if we come back, the page doesn't remain the same, and again, we need to search for the project name; this takes more time.
5. The chat screen needs to improve, as the real-time update takes more time to load the chat.
6. Rocketlane mobile app is required for ease of use.
7. For updating the time for the task, it loads one time and suddenly disappears again. We need to select the timer again; it consumes a lot of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's new and doesn't have any of the technical debt you see in other solutions. I love that they provide a Customer Portal - a place that our customer can go to at any time and immediately see the status of their project, tasks status (filterable by type and by owner), announcements, attachments, and form capability for our customers to submit feedback directly into the project as a task (and the ability the track that feedback). The Customer Portal is fantastic. It also means we save a lot with licenses and don't have to struggle with access or permissions and trying to teach our customers how to navigate the application itself. Customers have one plact where they can see everything they need to see and they can share or invite others. It's ultimately what made us select Rocketlane. And Rocketlane's implementation was relatively easy and they use their own application to manage it (they "drink their own champaigne") That helped us understand how to use the product and leverage ideas they used in our own implementation. I think because their solution is relatively new, it makes it cutting edge, but it also means that somethings need still to be added or modified. That said, when we bring up enhancements or ideas they seem very quick to get them in their backlog and alert us when the functionality is available. I would like to see more AI options that summarize the Project and Project status and sentiment from the feedback forms. Also need better adoption metrics for the Customer Portal. There are plenty of metrics for the internal use of the tool (us), but I am not seeing a lot of reporting capability for the our customers (the Customer Portal side) - yet. It offers flexibility for adding custom fields and automating processes, making it easier to maintain live project tracking and to map all necessary information against each project. It enables real-time data visualization through customizable dashboard and project field views, which also be easily shared among team members. It completely eliminates the reliance on excel as it can keep the real-time data and can exported easily.
Implementation is straightforward, they have the guides and article handy and can be self-learned, Supported by highly responsive customer support that consistently delivers solutions within the SLAs. The platform does not support bulk data uploads directly. To update the data in bulk, users must reach out to a support agent for assistance.
Additionally, capacity planning is based solely on the total allocated hours per role and does not account the total number of allocated projects and the target number of projects.
The dashboard can not show the number of roles and users , to access the numbers, we need to go to the settings option. which is not very convenient in case we want to solely rely on the dashboard for the presentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Rocketlane is a very flexible, powerful tool. You can adopt its out of the box version or customize it to your liking. I appreciate how it considers the needs of multiple, interconnected stakeholder groups including Professional Services, Operations, and Finance - it is not a "one team tool" by any means.
The Implementation team we worked with seemed very knowledgable about Rocketlane's capabilities and workarounds to achieve our exact use case. They were always willing to take and disseminate product feedback internally as well and always strived to understand the WHY behind our requests to ensure we are following best practices and not just haphazardly configuring our instance. We did not find the implementation process to be completely smooth, but we were certainly underresourced and on a difficult timeline from our side contributing to some of the issues. Our migration from GuideCX and Clockify to Rocketlane was not successful, which caused us to have to attempt multiple re-migrations and finally just manual fixes to remedy everything because we were not able to figure out whether the problems originated in the initial tools, data export, data transformation, upload, or mapping. Despite our needing to re-migrate many times our Implementation Manager, Jasmine, was with us each step of the way willing to try as many times until we were satisfied. In the end, it became too complicated to continue trying to re-migrate as we had already begun entering new data into the tool so we launched and fixed data as we found errors, but I really appreciate our Implementers devotion to our account as she never left us behind struggling alone and was always willing to go back to her team internally to get us another re-do.
Don't purchase and try and implement this tool without a resourced team on your side. You need a decision maker who will ultimately be owning the tool and familiar with all of the ins and outs of being the administrator, and without truly prioritizing this effort on your side, you will struggle to have a successful launch. The features and set up can be a bit manul at times which makes onboarding this tool move slower than I would like. I wish some of the features were more intuitive and more UI focused. Customer facing interfacing is lacking in easy of use and can create bottlenecks. Support team is overseas and creates a less than seamless experience in terms of trying to resolve issues quickly. It allows us to ease the process sending weekly status report to the customer of a particular projects. Resource management part is also very helpful to track all the projects and and time allocated for them to examine the occupancy of an individual weekly and monthly. Timesheet feature allow us to track hours of every project weekly which is helpful to track bandwidth of an individual for upcoming week.Its very finely integrated with slack also Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If I open two tabs simultaneously while submitting a timesheet and I need to add a project from resource management in order for the timesheet tab to reflect it and add the hours for it, I won't be able to see it until I reload the website and all the time allocation for projects got vanished when I refresh the page Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Customer portal is fantastic. Provides a shared view of onboarding projects. Our new customers LOVE it and the transparency it provides. As a Project Manager, RocketLane enables me to keep better track of ongoing projects, provide more specific timelines and gives the customer more insight to the project. Resource management and timesheet integration is one of the useful features that come in handy while dealing with clients. Moreover, the ability to connect with clients within Rocketlane makes this platform very efficient and productive.

Rocketlane has a very modern and intuitive user interface. It takes new users just minutes to get acclimated to the software and begin working on projects/tasks.
Template creation and updates are easy as well. Plus, it can be very powerful if you utilize the dynamic conditions on templates to dynamically control when certain tasks are included on projects. Its very helpful to prevent template explosion when you need some variability into a project type's task structure.
Rocketlane is setup well to easily track key dates, milestones, and phase start/end as well as calculating the intervals between planned and actual for all key project dates. It's very easy to start generating valuable and useful statistics from your projects.
The ability to add external members to projects so you can work alongside of and provide clear visibility to your customer contacts is absolutely second-to-none. Rocketlane was designed with onboarding and implementations in mind and is a software uniquely tailored to manage those kinds of projects.
Using Rocketlane itself to onboard onto their platform helps you visualize how your customers will use the platform and shows you first hand some of the best practices Rocketlane helps champion. Implementation is quick and easy if you know your project and task structure.

Rocketlane's Salesforce integration lacks some complexity that I would like. I am unable to sync data TO a record that is different than the record that creates a project. This means I can't update an Account field based on a project unless I use the Account record to generate the project. This can be overcome through a couple methods, though, so it certainly shouldn't be a deal breaker but it would be nice if there was more flexibility in how projects are created through the sync and how you can integrate project data back to Salesforce.
Additionally, there is not syncing of task data, which makes it challenging if you want to track task-level details in Salesforce vs. Project-level details. It is possible to use Rocketlane automations to update project-level fields in Rocketlane and then sync, but that's cumbersome and not ideal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
