What do you like best about Retrace?

Very easy to handle for a moderate price.

Good documentation how to integrate stackify in your business-applications. Support of standard-logging-frameworks. Can be used like a normal logger. I

The "Error-View" is one of our most used features and helps a lot to find, analyze and keep track of bugs.

If you're using services/tools like docker, aws, azure or bluemix it is a must have.

What do you dislike about Retrace?

The performance of the web-app is not always the best. Especially if you're changing some filters on the log-view.

This is NOT a show stopper, but sometimes it is a little bit annoying (depends on your mood) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Retrace solving and how is that benefiting you?

We're using Stackify to find potential misbehaviour in our software and to improve the performance of our Support-Team. Most of our incoming tickets can be solved or least linked to our trace/error-logs in stackify.

As stackify supports diagnostic contexts, it is easy for us to filter the logs by LEVEL or customer and to retrieve valuable meta-data about the log context Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Application monitoring performance and troubleshooting solution

How do you position yourself against your competitors?

Stackify is the only company that offers this level of real-time app performance and depth of APM analytics. There are a lot of tools in the market that provide some of the information (only APM, Log Management, Error Tracking, App monitoring(, but when an issue occurs it is very hard to pinpoint the problem across multiple tools, servers, and environments.

Stackify Retrace APM works perfectly with .NET Core and ASP.NET Core web apps on Windows. Apps targeting the full .NET framework, as well as Core CLR/netcoreapp, are supported. Retrace works with ASP.NET Core apps running behind IIS or running kestrel directly. If you have a .NET Core windows service or console application, you can configure Stackify Retrace to profile and monitor these applications. You must tell Retrace to specifically monitor non-web apps.

What do you like best about Retrace?

It's easy to configure Linux Agents in our cloud architecture with the Retrace platform since our network traffic flows through proxy servers. Since Retrace is a lightweight & powerful APM tool, it's reliable for monitoring our production servers. Its code profiling feature helps minimize complexities in our key application framework methods and ensures optimized implementations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Retrace?

Integrating our data connectors and application triggers is quite challenging to establish between our cloud platforms and the Retrace environment. Also, it's tedious to go through the entire log files for RCA since it generates a large number of entries. All other features are good to work on for our application monitoring and exception handling requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Retrace solving and how is that benefiting you?

We can set up error exceptions, custom alerts and consolidate log files across our environments for addressing our client's concerns directly using Retrace. Since its data processing is done as an isolated & secured process, it's easy to implement highly optimized code with our benchmarked standards. We can also create log queries easily from its drop-down list and assign a search timeframe for each query. Based on the parameters defined, Retrace monitors our Dotnet & Ruby applications and provides immediate alerts for critical issues and outages which is beneficial for us. What do you like best about Retrace?

Effective for bug management and fixing them at a rapid pace and gives in depth performance and error monitoring of application on different servers and there is an option to include both API as well ,the environment has a lot of variables to send regular updates and data about crash logs, error logs, capture statistics and also monitors the regular required app at a specific point of time and we have deployed across multiple teams so far . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Retrace?

The cloud integration took a lot of time although we use it for performance monitoring just like consumer call management tool to track the incidents and requests ,the triggers and query monitor just keeps running in the background and occupies a lot of time to get across with valid data and API calls are quite complex Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Retrace:

It has stronger alerting, analytics, performance, log management and there is no need to change code when monitoring or supervising the other background applications and the best to use and also the ability to search and filter exceptions are classy Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Retrace solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have lot of dashboards and reporting tools and to go back in time for specific reports and data tables, business intelligence this one works like a charm Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Retrace?

IT makes it so easy to see how long processes are taking and, more importantly, what ran as part of that process and how long each of those parts took. Finding and addressing database performance issues is made easy as it shows exactly what queries run and how long they take. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Retrace?

It can sometimes be difficult to filter out some of the DotNet overhead (e.g. garbage collection) that can make a usually fast task slow occasionally. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Retrace:

Couple Stackify with Prefix (prefix.io) on the development machines, and you have a great performance toolset for all of your developers and support people. Stackify gives insight as to how things are running on the servers; Prefix gives insight as to how things are running in a development machine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Retrace?

Log aggregation was my favorite feature for quite some time and is still one of my favorites, but I am a big fan of Prefix now. The ability to profile your web app during development is a great feature. Then with Retrace you can profile your production systems as well. Beyond this, the dashboards provide the window directly to your systems, stacks and help interrelate software and hardware systems, even across multiple data centers and cloud sites. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Retrace?

There aren't many things I would say I dislike. As with any system like this, there is configuration time, but Stackify does aim to have fast configuration while you are involved with it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Retrace:

Prefix is free and is a great way to get started using one of the products from Stackify without having to incur expenses while you realize some benefits. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Retrace solving and how is that benefiting you?

Until Stackify, there was no one tool to do monitoring, performance dashboards, log aggregation, APM and more. This same technology would come with half a dozen or more products and even more expense several years ago. Stackify provides all of this functionality out of the box, in one package and provides you the actionable insights necessary to target problems when they happen and point you directly to where they are happening and all systems/software affected. A product like Prefix does so many things to aid development and is free! It's hard to beat that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Retrace?

sometimes the search functionality can be a bit irritating. If you have large logs, drilling down to the right thing can sometimes be difficult. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
