I love the ability to create custom landing pages for every deal that I am working. It is SO much better than Google Slides/Docs and sending a ton of content via email. It's more efficient for the rep and a much better experience for the prospect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish there were automated email notifications for their "Comments" feature. Meaning, it would be great if I could say something like "@BobSmith check this file out" and Bob got an email notifying him of the comment. Also, it would be great if I had the option to notify specific users on the evaluation plan regarding specific content that I shared on the evaluation plan. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best part of this is getting tracking data on the prospects' engagement with the tool. In the rare occasions that prosects view the action plan, there is excellent tracking on what tabs/sections were viewed by the prospect, what they clicked, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In my experience customers do not see nearly as much value in this as you might think. Having utilized this tool in 6-8 deals now, I haven't once been told that it made a difference in the outcome of the deal. Even while actively seeking feedback ("Please let me know what you think of the Mutual Action Plan" or "We are piloting this tool and would welcome any feedback or comments you have on the Mutual Action Plan"), I never got any positive or negative feedback from the prospects.
The reality is that customers will have their own internal version of their requirements, capabilties etc, so even if you provide a cleaner and easy to use version of that via Recapped, there is no guarantee or proof that the customer will use it, since they are already maintaining their own internal repository of information about all the vendors they're looking at. And even though I always clarified that prospects can log in and edit their requirements or use cases, I have never once had a prospect actually make any changes to the action plan. They simply don't care. Sort of like "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink"; even though Recapped may provide a better overview of a given vendor in an evaluation, that doesn't mean the prospect will choose to use Recapped over their own internal repository of information about you as the vendor.
Finally, there are some weird UI things that need fixed. Not sure if this has been remedied but the Recapped experience on mobile in tabbed format is positively atrocious. The hamburger menu all but disappears, so if a customer happens to click the action plan from a mobile device, they will never realize there are other tabs with additional information. Also, the dragging of line items between checklists, specifically in the Action Items section, does not work smoothly. The template action plans need a lot of work and massing to be customer-facing. There are many things I like about Recapped.io. I like the ability to create templates to reuse for my opportunities. I like that I can hide/share certain building blocks on a page. I like that I can save down content blocks to utilize across my templates and that I can pull from other content items my team has created. I love the timeline feature as a place to collaborate with prospects on what we have to accomplish. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are a few tweaks/changes I hope the product/UX team continues to iterate, all smaller items. For example, I would like the ability to hyperlink within a table. I would also like the ability to add in a variable to use throughout a template - for example, use [company] to then fill in the company name throughout the template. The fact that we can show some information to our clients and keep some information private all within one template. Also the sync to SF 💯 !!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I need the sync to salesforce to work with custom objects as well and I need the ability to sync different field types :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
