If you use Quickbooks Desktop, and have employees, Payroll for Quickbooks Desktop is a must have. New payroll tax rates, forms, and topics are available for download frequently. I feel like we are always up to date and in compliance. All withholdings are automatically calculated and deducted from employees' paychecks. All liabilities are tracked on the payroll page, showing the date the remittance is due and the amount that is do. It is also easy to run reports of the liabilities due, along with other payroll data. Some liabilities are also available for epayment. For instance, I can pay the IRS directly through Quickbooks. My only real criticism of Payroll for Quickbooks Desktop is that it is very expensive. There is a huge (and constantly growing) annual subscription fee. Plus there is a fee for each check that is direct deposited. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's a real workhorse and it does everything that we need it to do in the realm of accounting and payroll for our small business. Setup is so easy and efficient. Once you have your account information entered you log in and you're set to begin entering your customers/vendors/accounts. I have had to call customer service a couple different times and the wait sometimes isn't good. Calling Intuit is always this way. This is a downside, but when you do get customer service on the phone they are always nice. Also the price isn't the best. They also went up and you can find less expensive services now.
