PushPress Overview

What is PushPress?

PushPress is a full-stack gym management system that is here to help you grow your fitness facility. With PushPress, you'll be able to manage classes and privates, take payments, track attendance, manage leads, and maintain member relationships all from the palm of your hand! PushPress was founded in 2012 to solve the modern-gym owner's problems. To truly understand those problems, we decided to open a gym and go through the pains of building and running a gym. When we came up with problems in our gyms, we would explore how technology could help solve them. The result is a platform that can integrate with third-party software to allow gym owners to build the system their business needs, a system that is easy and intuitive to use for the gym owner on the go, and paired with rockstar customer support (who all have owned gyms)

Product Description

PushPress is a gym membership and management software platform that helps gym owners to run their fitness facility. The suite of products allows users to manage classes and privates, take payments, track attendance, manage leads, as well as manage and maintain member relationships. Users are able to access all system features via mobile device while on-the-go, including built-in complimentary task based apps.

How do you position yourself against your competitors?

PushPress is a software built by gym owners.

We built PushPress to solve the needs of gym owners, through the lens of being a gym owner, ourselves. Every other solution we tested, was too complicated, not powerful enough, not customizable enough, or had terrible customer support.

We pride ourselves in being on the ground level and in the community of passionate business owners, set on helping their communities get healthier and more fit. We've built several online groups of thousands of other gym owners, to collectively share what is working in their communities. And in 2020, we created the PushPress Grant, to help provide some financial help for gyms that needed it the most.

Gym management software should be more than a tool. It should powerful, customizable, and easy to use. It should help you build community. If not, ditch what you have and join PushPress!

What do you like best about PushPress?

The quick and easy installation is beneficial. The integration with Stripe makes it simple to create recurring payments and remove the hassle of taking money from members and wondering if they will or won't renew their subscription. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PushPress?

The product is mainly US focused and it would be great if the system would integrate with my door entry system so when a member renews (or not) it resets their door access. It would also be good to have a notes field to capture anything about the member. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is PushPress solving and how is that benefiting you?

Push press makes it easy to set up your business, add members and products and take recurring payments. It is quick to setup and provides lots of great ideas on how to extend your customer experience with nutrition, workouts etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from James Plata of PushPress

Hey Darren! Thank you for the great review! We've worked hard to create a very tight integration with Stripe to make the experience for your members as easy as possible. We are in the works with adding some functionality in our system to be able to connect with door access companies. It's a popular ask from gyms!

What do you dislike about PushPress?

I am ready for TRAIN, but know it's coming! I'd also like a coach's "view" in the member app (so I can see coaches' notes I added to the workout). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering PushPress:

Be sure to give time and attention to billing cycles when migrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is PushPress solving and how is that benefiting you?

For a growing gym, this has been the perfect solution. I got into an amazing product with minimal investment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about PushPress?

Easy to use. You can see all the classes for the day, who is teaching, and what the class is about. You also get the address and who else is attending the class in view. Simple to reserve and unreserve. Also, the appointment is added directly to your calendar, and you get a reminder, THIS IS BRILLIANT!

Push press is also an excellent platform for communication with your members - sending out scheduled emails and texts, checking birthdays for specialised messages, and CRM to keep track of everything, especially when more than one coach is working on leads etc.

It integrates with SugarWOD to show WOD Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PushPress?

If an athlete attends a class but didn't reserve, they can not click reserve/attend at a later date so that your history shows you went to that class. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering PushPress:

We have used a few different apps/ systems over the years, but Push Press has been our favourite and the one we have stuck with the longest. I would definitely recommend using Push Press for ease, compatibility, and smooth service across the running of your business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is PushPress solving and how is that benefiting you?

From a user's perspective: the previously mentioned calendar entry and reminder are brilliant to avoid missing a class. You can see who booked in, so if you want to avoid a particular person, you know they are going and can reserve a different time!

From a management point of view: It's great that you know who is coming to class so if there are any special requirements you can prepare. It also means that limited numbers dodon'to over capacity, or if we had to do a track & trace case, we know who was in and when.

The 30mins before class reservation cut-off is a good tool. If noone is booked in by 30 mins before class is due to start, I know that I can cancel and get on with other things.

Clients being able to purchase their memberships is quick and straightforward. And when selling packs of 5 or 10 we do not have to keep a count of classes, the app reservations does this for us.

Push press has some great integrations that other reservation apps do not so that you can set up a seamless system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Eric LeClair of PushPress

Thank you so very much for taking the time to share your feedback. It is sincere and honest feedback like this that really helps us govern our decision-making process for all future projects. We truly vale the hard work that you put in on behalf of your facility, and we hope that you enjoy our platform as we build out new features for you. Thanks for all you do...

What do you like best about PushPress?

PushPress is simple to use and their customer onboarding process and support is second to none. They are always quick to respond to any issues and very much a customer focused busienss. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PushPress?

There's not many downsides to be honest. If I was to be picky, it would be great to get more regular updates about new features. They do this but being even more regular would be useful to understand how their platform is developing. I would also like to see the customer sign up pages developed into a more aesthetically pleasing design, or have the ability to customise the design from the backend. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is PushPress solving and how is that benefiting you?

PushPress provides an easy lead capture solution for new contacts coming in to our business. The sign up process for new members is seamless which makes signing up new members really easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about PushPress?

Check ins are super simple and allow me, as a coach, to know what to expect for my class size. The fact that we can cap the class sizes is also amazing. Sometimes it's hard to coach if the class is too large, so it allows us to pull and extra coach in if needed with advance notice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PushPress?

The interface can be a little clunky here and there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering PushPress:

None! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is PushPress solving and how is that benefiting you?

Class sizes and coach staffing for sure! Keeping track of memberships is also super simple! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about PushPress?

I like how PushPress covers all the important needs of a gym, and more! As a first time gym owner, PushPress has helped get my business started with a low cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PushPress?

The multitude of options offered means navigation could take a while. You should be able to find your way around things after a couple of uses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Try it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is PushPress solving and how is that benefiting you?

My main concern is members management, and low cost. I have surveyed a few other competitors and found that for the same features of PushPress, I could be paying nearly 200 dollars or more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from James Plata of PushPress

Thanks for the feedback! We're always working to simplify the experience inside PushPress.
