The ability to easily adapt and update the hosting environment depending on the needs of our clients. Supporting over 80 sites on the service - some that we've built and some that we just support means that there are a wide range of ways that Drupal has been implemented. having the flexibility to have different flavours of PHP, MariaDB, Solr and Drupal core within the same overall hosting package is invaluable. The inability to stop a build if it becomes blocked is an issue Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As a project manager, I can create branches or sync content from the main environment to a test environment without support of a developer. The UI is clear and easy to understand. The support answers within a reasonable time and is usually very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The high quality has a considerable higher price than other platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As a developer, you need to understand how deployment words before put your project in production Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is a solution built with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery in mind. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is a great service offering. There are new features added all the time that make it a more appealing service every month. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The deploying of changes, and updates with a simple commit. No messing around with making thrid party CI/CD systems work with your host and no additional CI/CD costs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
They charge per developer on an account. This makes little sense to me and penalizes smaller teams trying to grow as they have higher cost than large agencies who get unlimited users. It would make more sense to just charge solely for the resources each client needs and nothing to do with my agency and number of devs I won't to have access to the site. If you need a dev, stage, or prod platform, then Platform.Sh provides a rock-solid Linux environment. It integrates well with a number of build pipelines, and is more flexible than Gumby after a Yoga class.
If command line ops don't scare you, they are a very good choice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
You don't get direct SSH access (as you would with a self-hosted Linux environment.) Your access point is a layer above, via config files. There IS a bit of a learning curve to this, but it is well worth the time invested. (It is leaps-and-bounds more configurable than competing GUI-Only solutions.) But if you make a mistake, the subsequent mess can be harder to clean-up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Two of the things about Platform.sh that I enjoy immensely are their ability to (let you) automate processes and their focus on security.
As a SaaS company, we're using Platform.sh to run most of our projects. We're actively using their APIs to automate this process. The APIs are well documented and integrating this into our systems is straightforward.
Platform.sh takes the hassle out of hosting security. Having data at-rest encrypted, read-only file mounts and the necessary compliance (SOC 2 type 2) is a benefit for any organization serious about their security.
Our developers simply enjoy using Platform.sh. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It can be hard to determine when you need to upgrade projects to different plans. We've integrated different tools (easy and straightworward1) to help monitor usage and detect issues, having some of that out of the box would've been better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
All of it :-) We've migrated almost our full stack to Platform.sh, and as the platform allows us to manage almost every aspect of the hosting, we had no trouble at all. It's only in rare cases, we tend to reach out to Platform.sh excellent service (Slack, tickets,...) to help us out. Edge cases where we need complex architecture are figured out together, where all P.sh engineers are almost fully dedicated to help us out. I'm not sure what to list as "best", this kind of service or the product itself. Probably the combination of both. Projects running on P.sh are almost zero-worry and we can give some really good assurances to all our clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
At this point, we have over 40 projects and 18 team members. There is no way to manage this in bulk, which leads to a lot of manual actions. But imporovements have been shown during the Agency roadshows, so we're looking forward for these new features. The lack of detailed metrics goes the same way. Nothing in place yet, but future plans show some decent improvements on this topic.
The grid setup is something else worth mentioning. If an issue occurs (which it rarely does), a lot of projects are affected at the same time. This is a busy peak on our own service level, but we can handle this :-) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
