What do you like best about OnBase?

I like the intentions behind the product, it intends to be a good ECM with inovation propelling them forward. Unfortunately Hyland does not work on improving components of OnBase that would make it a more sought after product. The Web client should have the full capabilities to match what the Unity client or Thick client is capable of. Scanning is almost nonexistent for web and the Unity client does not have great scanning features, users should not be required to be experts in the field of scanning to have the product work for them. What do you dislike about OnBase?

The product is worse than our own we are replacing it with, it lacks scanning capabilities and has little to no web client functionality, it requires thick client installs with config file maintenance. The IIS resets force admins to be active after hours to be able to implement any changes when it should be easy for admins to push changes out. creating a user group should not require kicking users out of the system. users should be able to scan multiple document types without needing to change settings for the scanner inputting them. we cant even swap out licenses when we have 9999 workflows licenses for any workview when we only have 25. What problems is OnBase solving and how is that benefiting you?

OnBase is creating more problems than they are solving, our admins have to create more 3rd party components to support systems that used to be integrated in our old ECM Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OnBase?

WE USE ONBASE IN SEVERAL AREAS, AP, AR, PLANTS, ENG, MEDICAL, CONTRACTS AND IT WORKS VERY WELL WITH WORKFLOWS AND ASSIGNMENT. VERSIONING IS A KEY FACTOR WITH SOME OF OUR USERS THAT IS VERY LIKED. HISTORY AND AUDITING IS ALSO A EXTREMELY LIKE FEATURE. SAP ARCHIVE LINK IS A GREAT PRODUCT. BAR CODE WORKS WELL IN FOR OUR PLANTS AND INVOICES. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OnBase?

We use OnBase for AP and it has greatly improved our processes. We have eliminated the need for paper invoices and storage. It allows us process invoices much faster as it goes through approvals quickly and doesn't need to be passed around for approvals. It also provides reporting tools and allows us to research invoices easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OnBase?

We use the Line of Business Broker which occassionally has some connection issues. I the LOBB is down, we can't use OnBase at all since there is no connection. A recommended improvement would be for it to cache the GL coding so that it can be used if the connection is down. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OnBase solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are now paperless with AP which is saving on storage space and offsite storage. It also allows for approvals while individuals are traveling and we no longer have to wait until they return to physically approve the invoice. We can process invoices much faster this way. What do you like best about OnBase?

There are many no-code or low-code solutions. I like having a community space to collaberate with questions or suggestions to further my solution. End users find it easy to navigate the solution. What do you dislike about OnBase?

Many times when searching Community I find a post of the question I am asking and it was never answered. Also there is at times so much information to seach through it can be time consuming. On Hyland University it is frustrating how many are premium subscription. I try to be as self sufficient as possible so I don't have to innudate tech support with tickets. What do you like best about OnBase?

I have a background as being a traditional software devleoper for 2 years in addition to working for a no code development platform startup.

When I first started working with onbase, I was blown away by how simplified the UI design is. I know what I need to do immediately. There are so many customizable options of how to make the product your own. The interface is so clean and simple. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OnBase?

What do you like best about OnBase?

A popular entry path for our business units is to lift and shift excel spreadsheets and access databases. We always throw in some extras for automation and quality of life. Additionally we can transform major projects that have grown beyond their original scope and can benefit from OnBase's flexibility and power. WorkView has been a lifesaver for many of our processes. What do you dislike about OnBase?

Upgrades are difficult. Sometimes we cannot justify ROI for some of the modules. Hyland is always innovating and coming out with new modules, however, if OnBase is not your first line of business application, it can be hard to justify spending $20,000 plus $25% for yearly maintenance to use SOME of the features of a new module. What problems is OnBase solving and how is that benefiting you?

OnBase allowed us to automate our Accounts Payable process. Invoices are scanned and routed to approvers. When they are approved, they are sent back to Finance for processing to be paid. Staff can verify if an invoice has been approved as well as view an image of the check cut for the invoice if contacted by a vendor and cross reference the invoice with P.O. as well.

Human Resources was able to digitize the employee folders and allow Directors/Managers to view candidates for job postings. They no longer have to call to find out how many or even if applications were received for a posted position. They have also taken advantage of the Document Retention module to allow they to purge documents according to a standard schedule.

Clerks uses OnBase as the keeper of documents and contracts. With ease they can provide specific contracts, legal documents, respond to FOIA requests and produce meeting minutes for Council and Boards.

Community Development stores various documents in OnBase freeing up time and money from retrieving the documents from a storage facility. Like Human Resources, they also take advantage of the Document Retention module to purge document in accordance with an established schedule. OnBase integrates with the Community Development line of business application so that large documents line plan sets, can be displayed when clicking on an item in the line of business application

OnBase is an overall GREAT software application! The capabilities available in Workflow and Workview are incredible for automating manual processes !!

We have a subsidiary that is using OnBase for their invoicing, as well as their travel and contracts. Our Corporate Finance, Legal and HR all utilize OnBase for automating requests and approvals. Our Information Security team is using it to manage their File Transfer process. We are getting new requests from all areas of the company to automate manual processes. What do you like best about OnBase?

We dislike the inability to create a software enhancement request. We "understand" the whole voting thing but sometimes we have literal business critical problems with the software that are communicated through Deluxe to Hyland and into a forever black hole. We have a write once read many environment that is benefitting the global treasury management sales of products and services to the bank. We use Workview to create a custom application that is the vehicle for all of the GTM applications. Its ability to be custom and granular helps shape our solution that has to be easily modified per the industry and its continual shifts. That flexability is unparralled. What do you like best about OnBase?

When we switched to OnBase, we were able to downsize our paper storage down to almost nothing. We previously had all of the walls in our front office lined with filing cabinets. We were able to get rid of all of those. We also save so much time processing things through the OnBase system - people throughout the building are able to quickly and easily pull up documents that they need.
