I discovered Mmhmm in 2021, and I must say, it's been an absolute game-changer for enhancing my video communication. What I like best would have to be the ability to add recorded video to my live video presentations. I can record myself and playback content that is meant to be more informative and switch to live to engage with others. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Maybe it is just my computer, but it seems to take up a lot of resources. I got a new computer not too long ago and now it works much better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The most useful part of mmhmm is the ability to easily control and manipulate my onscreen image when screencasting. For any video presentation or live video app, like Zoom or Google Meet, my first step is to use mmhmm as my camera which instantly gives me the ability to control the size and position of my live image. After this, I load a slide deck from a powerpoint, or I share my screen of an application or a website I want to talk about. Mmhmm gives me the power to position my image over the displayed slide deck or website. I do this to be able to point at material as I talk about it with my own fingers. This functionally is very natural and powerful for capturing audience attention. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The aspect of mmhmm that I am not satisfied with is that sometimes there is a delay of a few milliseconds of my live image when using mmhmm as virtual camera with some software. I can see a delay of my lips moving and I have noticed it the most when using Classin. I also dislike that there is an artificial cut-off where the virtual camera cannot capture my image. For example, when I lift my arm straight up or too far to the edge of the virtual camera, my arm will look cut off. I then have to adjust the virtual camera image size, to allow my fingers to be seen pointing at the object on my background slide. I hope one day that this functionality can improve, but it may be a computer hardware issue or an issue of the camera itself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have tried a number of apps for virtual meetings, including things like OBS and while other apps work, I have to say the ease in which mmhmm works is astounding. I really don't have time to do a lot of configurations, I was looking for something that just worked and worked well with little setup on my side. mmhmm did just that. I mainly use it while leading company wide training events, or demos to customers where I can embed the presentation or talking points around me on the screen and be engaged with my audience which really makes a huge difference than just presenting boring slides. I do love that mmhmm works just by installing it, selecting your camera and thats it. Add backgrounds, add content, do whatever you need and easily adjust it while in the middle of your meeting. I did have to reach out to customer support one time and they responded very quickly, handled my issue (which was my issue and not mmhmm's) and helped me. Overall great software, I signed up for the yearly plan based on my success with this. Super easy to install and use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I dislike is the lack of customizations in some areas, HOWEVER that is also what I love. For example, I wish I could easily build a lower third that I could customize on the fly, I haven't found a way to do this yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've given hundreds of virtual presentations, and mmhmm has been a game-changer in helping me stay connected with my audience. With mmhmm, you control how you appear on the screen. No longer are you confined to a tiny corner of the screen when doing a screenshare in Zoom. With mmhmm, you have the freedom to position yourself anywhere on the screen so that YOU shine when presenting your content.
With the ability to set up your slides and your screen presence in advance, there is no need to fumble with multiple windows or toggle screensharing on/off. This allows you to keep your attention focused on what matters most—your audience.
mmhmm is easy to use and get started with and is one of the top tech tools I recommend to my friends and fellow educators who are presenting virtually or recording video content. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are two products—mmhmm Desktop and mmhmm Studio. Though I've mainly moved over to mmhmm Desktop, there are some features in mmhmm Studio that I still rely on. Explaining the differences between these two downloads can also be confusing for people getting started.
I would also love to see the mmhmm team add more pre-made templates and share example videos of them in use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Such a fantastic concept and love that it works on different meeting hosting platforms like Zoom, Google Meet etc. Much better than the built in "change your background" of the big guys. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The onboarding experience could be better, but overall a great product. I think it's always hard when you're creating a new category of product, so they should be allowed some grace in my opinion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I recently tried mmhmm.app and found it to be a valuable tool for enhancing my virtual presentations. The dynamic slide features allowed me to create engaging content, making my presentations more impactful. The user-friendly interface and variety of customization options were particularly impressive. As a bonus, the app offers a seamless experience, making it a go-to choice for anyone looking to elevate their virtual communication. Overall, a great addition to my toolkit!” Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
technical hiccups, such as lagging transitions and occasional freezes, have led to a less-than-smooth user experience. While the app has innovative features, addressing these performance issues could significantly enhance its overall appeal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This is the best way to create presentations with your video. It makes it possible to have you and the presentation in the same screen. And love the explaier videos that their team puts out Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Honestly not much, other than the fact that it is not super simple to expalin the mmhmm idea to other people unless you show them the output Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

So many of the video conferencing tools I've tried in the past have been somewhat bland. They tick the boxes for communication, but that's about it. mmhmm, is a game changer. For an application designed for professional use, mmhmm provides a level of fun that brings joy to my day! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish this software was more well known. This software is a hidden gem that deserves to be in the spotlight more often. I would love to see this become something to replace other video conferencing tools entirely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's very intuitive, it has a lot of very useful features, the logo is great, you can make the meeting host larger or smaller, add cool backgrounds, share information, there's a pointer to point to what's showing, it's a very cool way to make and share presentations Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Although it is very cool, they should implement it so that it is compatible with Safari, I mean that it has all the functionalities and features for Safari users. Not only for Chrome and Firefox. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The screen recordings have always a sleek design and look very professional, perfect for a designer like me Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Auto-delete silences would be a great feature but still isn't there Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
