Customized workflow, build-in QA, online quoting with automation widget, compatibility with Mac and Linux. It is also very easy to make Memsource a part of academic education. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Most young translators, students and teachers at academic institutions are not acquainted with Memsource. We constantly have to look for more new users to manage bigger projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Phrase tries to cover all angles. It is intuitive to use, the learning curve is steep. When I demonstrate this cloud-based CAT environment to my students it only takes a few minutes to get them up and running. At the same time - if you are willing to bury yourself deeper into the settings - it has all the cogs and wheels for very advanced projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only thing that makes me grumble once in a while is the constant evolution of the product. Naturally, that is a good and inevitable thing that applies to any successful software. It's really not a complaint, just an occasional sigh of a user who has to keep up and learn all the new and amazing stuff :-). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As a university teacher, I like the simplicity and integrity of the system; the students can quickly grasp the essentials of translation management, trying both sides of a translation project - the role of a linguist and that of a project manager. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The problems are not connected with Memsource itself, but with academia being somewhat out of touch with the real translation industry tasks, challenges, and workflows. It might be difficult for beginners to simulate true-to-life working situations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The interface is intuitive. Easy to collaborate and work in team. Cool automatization features. Customer Support. I'm currently working with 20 different languages, there is no tool that can help me work on these projects so quickly and conveniently as Phrase does. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The main disadvantage is that sometimes working with large projects is problematic, often the site glitches and half of the translations are not saved, but overall my impressions are positive. Also i would like you to improve filter for segments. Some times you need to find some sort of word, but starting with a capital letter, not small letter. As the result you get all of them. I'll try to explain it to you. For example I would like to replace word "One"(capital letter!!!). If i use a filter on the word "One", I get all kind of that word. Such as "one", "One", or even "someone". Sometimes it's usefull, but sometimes not. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Using the Phrase Localization Platform allows me to benefit from a CAT tool that is extremely easy to use, implementing projects is a breeze and every time I reach out to customer support, I get a reply within only a few hours, which is great in an environment where time is of the essence.
I use Phrase every day, it's my main tool for work as a translator. The many features it has allows me to do everything and anything I want. It's also very easy to integrate when I need to set up a fellow translator in the system or if I have a huge project going.
I couldn't live without Phrase. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There aren't too many downsides to using Phrase. The only thing is you really need to make sure to check your settings for AI MTUs so that you don't run out. Help from the AI is really useful but if you rely on it too much, it can become a problem.
While Phrase has changed it's AI MTUs settings so that they get used up quickly if you don't look into your settings, the AI does a tremendous job. It's just a matter of tweaking your settings accordingly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like Phrase because its an amazing tool of work specially for translation because it keeps me up to date with the vocabularies and allow me a fast way of working. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Well for me the downsides of this tool called Phrase is because every work that I finish in case I do something wrong I wont be able to go back and fix it, I would like a small feature that can tell me like "Are you sre to complete this work and close your access to Phrase once completed" something like. En nuestra empresa, dimos un gran salto cualitativo al empezar a utilizar Phrase Strings. Nos ha permitido optimizar la gestión multilingüe de nuestro producto y lo usamos diariamente. Un gran avance con respecto a cómo lo gestionábamos anteriormente.
Es una herramienta intuitiva para el trabajo diario y con muchas posibilidades aún sin explorar. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
La implementación ha sido larga al tener que adaptar nuestro código a Phrase y aún sentimos que tiene mucho margen de mejora en ciertos detalles para el uso diario (filtros, integraciones, la base terminológica, conexión entre proyectos, mejora de analíticas), pero, aún así, en nuestro trabajo diario es más que suficiente.
No obstante, creemos que el precio es bastante elevado, no sale barato. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This is about TMS:
The user-friendly UI especially for the linguists. They are able to start quickly using the software without the need of understanding the whole complexity behind. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This is about TMS:
- To keep the overview as Project Manager is not that perfect. I like the "Jobs" section to get a good overview, but still some features are missing there, so you need to switch quite often to the "Projects" section. The "Projects" section is not very user-friendly.
- I am missing a lot a global search within TMS. F. ex. if you want to check, where a term has been used and translated (in different projects and/or jobs) it a nightmare, because there is no global search available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Overall, I enjoy using Phrase. It's very intuitive and user-friendly, even for junior project managers with little experience. Its extensive features streamline my workflow. The Helpdesk team is also great and quick to respond. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ever since the most recent upgrade, it seems like the tool has not been running as smoothly as before. The pages take a long time to load which can be pretty frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
its intuitive interface and robust features that streamline the localization process. It makes managing translations efficient and collaborative, especially with its support for multiple file formats and integration capabilities. The real-time translation suggestions and context previews are particularly helpful for maintaining accuracy and consistency across projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While Phrase Localization Platform is highly efficient, I find that some of the advanced features can be a bit complex to navigate for new users. Additionally, the pricing structure could be more flexible to better accommodate smaller teams or projects. Occasionally, there are minor delays in syncing integrations, which can disrupt workflow. It costs me nothing, includes a sufficient QA tool within itself, recommends machine translations only as options (not so strongly, not as NO.1 options), and has no bugs in essential and frequently used functions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. In QA, dates and numbers (in terms of differences in unit like million and billion) translated from Japanese to English and vice versa are always picked up as errors. It requires certain amounts of time and attention to make sure in QA that these are not errors. Phrase would be better if it includes such typical conversion in QA.
2. Phrase on the translation company side is kind of a black box. I have no need to worry about that but that is not very comfortable. They may stop using Phrase at their discretion. In addition, as I have no idea what are happening on their side, I am not in the position to recommend Phrase to a company who does not use it. (I am not sure but high user review scores may help companies to continue or start using it.). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
