Ability to interactively edit and correct address and location data. So many industrial strength tools on the market claim to provide a superior output, but I've tried many of them and found them difficult to set up, take time to train properly and have little if any interactive way to correct errors. Human eyes are so much better at identifying errors and patterns. By incorporating this interactivity, Melissa adds a level of sophistication and ease of use to their service line. Nothing. I've been a user of Melissa products for over 15 years. I have tried over a dozen products in this category and have found nothing better than Melissa. I'm a data perfectionist and Melissa gives me data files that are as close to perfect as possible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Nothing I didnt like, she even gives you 1000 free credits Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to stay up-to-date with our customer's address as this saves in returned mail and costs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The incorrect address changes we receive, especially those related to a family member that moves not the primary household member. The lack of an ability to provide those errors as feedback to prevent them in the future Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
DQS includes several components that can be utilized in most popular programming languages, each of which targets a different type of information (e.g., phone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses). These components allow us to write business applications or integrations that keep our data clean and standardized. Melissa Data also offers a real-time API to perform the same validations, which can be helpful for identifying potential corrections during data entry. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Updates come only once monthly and are distributed via a link in an automated email. The disk size required is sizable, over 10GB zipped for each update. The software can be challenging to configure at first, but once complete is simple to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We can access the services through the Internet or through a software that I can use on my workstation. I can clean the data from different angles. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not much. If I have trouble with anything the tech support is readily available to get me through it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the free 1000 credits, which can at least get you going. I like the Bulk upload function using listware. I like the fact that it takes less than a minute to get the data ready. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I feel that there can be improvement in understanding the result code in the address lookup section. When you download the result file it will be helpful if the bad addresses are automatically highlighted instead of the user decoding the file. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It has made our address validation process incredibly easier, helping us serve our clients better and always keeping our databases updated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The cost, they give excellent service but could help a little with the cost to your older clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The dataquality suite does a good job of ensuring mailing addresses are USPS verified. The Presort library for actually compiling a bulk mailing would often break when updates were released and it took tech support an average of a week to fix the issues. This meant not being able to do bulk mailings for a week which is not conducive for running a business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When new updates come out undocumented changes in the code breaks our implementation leading to days of work getting everything working again. Tech support knows NOTHING about the changes that are made in updates so they are completely worthless to turn to for help.
Very poor, practically non-existent documentation.
Cryptic (if any) error codes returned from the object.
No input validation in the library so strings that are too long cause the library to crash without any information about why it crashed.
No documentation showing the maximum string length that can be put into each field of the library which makes the above problem darned near impossible to solve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Melissa is the most accurate and best address service.
It has a very friendly API available in a variety of formats (SOAP, REST, others).
Melissa offers a huge array of different fields that can be used for many practical business purposes, both about the customer and about the addresses you submit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only drawback I found was there wasn't a PHP SDK available out of the box. I ended up writing one and open-sourcing it, and a number of other people are now using my SDK. It's not the end of the world, other services don't have that as well, but it'd be nice if they'd offer that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
