We used Melissa DATA as a starting point for Address Standardization. We integrated this using their API so we can correct our data on a regular basis. The results were then used for deduplication of records across thousands of records. It's good for North American based data and does a decent job at standardizing addresses in this locale. We use Melissa on-prem solutions because speed is super important for us. We reviewed other leading address standardization services and Melissa beat them hands-down. Melissa in-network respnse times are in the single digit milliseconds consistently. Their api is easy to work with. We get a lot of actionable information about addresses, phones, and emails. Only one quibble: lack of a test database. We regression test every code change, multiple times a day. It would be great to have a mini-sized db to test the interface against instead of having to download and image the entire multi-gigabyte database for every test run.
