For some reason, I'm unable to get the email notifications to work for this product even though I have the settings set to send emails immediately. Unless I have it open on my desktop at all times, I will not get notified and therefore miss a lot of messages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

How "familiar" it feels - feels like a modern multimedia messaging application. Feature rich including user tagging, media uploads, private conversations, etc. A refreshing departure from the typically archaic DoD toolsets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Maybe not an issue with Mattermost itself, but it seems like alot of people go overboard with the gifs. Maybe add an option to turn off gifs in certain channels?

Also, our Mattermost instance is hosted in a corporate DevOps instance and requires a gateway / VPN to connect to. This basically means I can't use the iOS app. Maybe add an option in the iOS app to connect using a public HTTP gateway / proxy? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is easier to discuss a topic with a colleague who needs a quick response than to send an email. Individual customer service. Open-source community. Very easy to install and maintain. Easy to integrate. The data connects through channels and tags so that it can easily connect to existing tools, and I like the fact that it can integrate with many systems, including SSO. I believe the Mattermost is in a position to adjust the channel to the requirements of businesses. I really love it. For instance, teams are able to work on particular channels to facilitate the exchange of ideas, and you are able to also use regular company channels rather than sending emails. Multimedia communications could be quickly produced by exchanging files, videos, and images. You can improve the interaction of yours with much more than text messages. The chat functionality is really heavy and it is not built into the application. I really would like to open a browser to refresh it every time a new email appeared. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
