What do you like best about Mailgun?

The free tier is very good and the service is really easy to use. I think the web interface to check on sent email is easy and clear to use and the support tickets have always been responded to promptly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mailgun?

We had some deliverability issues when other users on the mailgun server were blacklisted. Raising a ticket meant our issue was dealt with quite quickly but this happens every 6-12 months on average. We don't send enough email to get a dedicated IP. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Mailgun solving and how is that benefiting you?

We send all our transactional email from our webapp via mailgun. We also use it for the some other bespoke scripts we made for notifications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Mailgun?

Mailgun allows me to send our newsletter to over 10,000 recipients for a very affordable price. I use a WordPress based Newsletter system that I modified to efficiently send out my emails through Mailgun. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mailgun?

Statistics retrieval is limited to 30 days with my plan. I still need to automate the monthly retrieval process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Mailgun?

There is no buddy can take responsibilities,

When I send a mail regarding campaign there is no response from customer care executives. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Mailgun?

Simplicity and effectiveness for sending and receiving mail. Webhooks and reporting are the most useful for my main project Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Mailgun?

I use Mailgun for email confirmations of registrations, sign-ups, lost passwords etc and it hasn't let me down once.

Their customer support is very friendly and responsive when it comes to helping or fixing any issues you might have.

Their free plan is amazing and has no competition. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mailgun?

So far, I have been using Mailguns free plan for over 2 years and I haven't come across any major issues.

The only problem that occurred was one of the shared IP addresses was blacklisted by an email provider (Hotmail) but that issue was resolved within a few minutes by moving me to a different IP address. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Mailgun?

Mailgun provides the largest amount of free outgoing/incoming emails of the major SMTP relays, and provides several easy to follow guides in order to implement it on many popular self-hosted platforms. If you need to pass more than 10,000 messages per month, they are reasonably priced. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mailgun?

Mailgun is marketed primarily towards mass-messaging businesses, and as such, the tools and dashboard are biased towards that service. It's understandable, as the prvoder makes its money off those tools, but it would be nice to be able to adjust the dashboard and message privacy settings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

After reviewing multiple possible solutions, Mailgun stood out as the easiest to implement SMTP relay service for a self-hosted provider. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Mailgun solving and how is that benefiting you?

Recently, I have suffered from a rash of spam-boxings and message delivery refusals. After 4 years of self-hosting a mail server for small local businesses, I finally gave in and shifted my SMTP outbound mail over to the Mailgun relay. It took about two hours to adjust the DNS records and authenticate the 30-ish domains I host, and from the moment I adopted the relay I noticed changes in mail delivery. Messages from domains that were previously defaulting to spam moved to a test account's inbox, which is a big deal when some customer's recipients are not accustomed to checking their spam mailbox. What do you like best about Mailgun?

It was very easy to switch to Mailgun sending email using the SMTP, and then later upgrade to the API. However best of all was the introduction into the world of email reputation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mailgun?

tech support can take a day to respond, and the responses tend to be cookie cutter and not always customized to my issues. The reality is that the issues are normally at my end, but I may be asking for some info to try to solve the issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I was limited in how many emails I could send through my company email system. This was stepping up into the big leagues. For me a 25,000 recipient email is a big mailing, and Mailgun beautifully solved the issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I wish there was better visual alias account separation, but this is very minor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Mailgun is an excellent tool and security measure for sending email from WordPress websites. It allows admins to disable PHP's mail() function, which is a great help when fighting hacks that turn servers into spam nodes.
