What do you like best about Logi Symphony?
I began developing within LogiAnalytics software in 2007, and, despite several job changes between then a now, have spent more time using this software than any other. I have also served as an administrator for nearly all of that time. In both of these capacities, I have developed everything from simple, web-based reports through dashboarding and Analytics, to building mission-critical, enterprise-level applications, as well as configuring and maintaining user-driven data exploration environments.
LogiAnalytics solutions have been a pleasure to work with. Whenever I have gotten stuck, I have found that the documentation - both within the IDE and on-line - is incredibly helpful and intuitive, as have the support staff.
Interestingly, when presented with a new requirement - as happened just a couple of months ago - I inevitably stumble across an element that fits the bill nicely, and that was there all along. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What do you dislike about Logi Symphony?
This is a tough question. It would be nit-picking, but passing parameters from one report to another, or from one process to another, can sometimes be troubling. That said, I have never had an instance where I was not able to get the information that I needed relatively easily.
My only overarching concern is that when using software that is so intuitive and that allows for such rapid deployment of pretty much anything that an organization may need, I have had to become very cognizant of users wanting features simply because they can be achieved and not necessarily because they should be achieved.

What do you like best about Logi Symphony?
The ease of use and productivity gain in developing BI projects. Logi Simphony is a great product with awesome features, like an ETL layer with cache on it, pixel perfect dahboards and reports, data annotation, email and data driven notifications and so much more. What do you like best about Logi Symphony?
Integration of various types of data sources is simple and easy; even with multiple ETL steps and data enrichment features, you still can easily navigate the tool. Using JavaScript and CSS, you can step up functionalities and make them custom to your objectives—a good amount of built-in graphs and charts that would handle diverse reports and data formats.
Dundas BI is my go-to data viz tool for making a highly customized dashboard! I have used it every day, for at least 6-7 hours a day, for the last 16 months. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What do you dislike about Logi Symphony?
The product has many "gotchas" and some unwanted behaviours that sometimes are not solved by support or future updates. Despite customer support being very responsive, the time it takes for a solution can be months long, and some don't have a solution. Intermittent bugs and some other types of faulty features
The Developer Seat limitation is also an immense dislike on Dundas BI, as you can only develop and fully edit with limited user seats, creating an unnecessary paywall for customers. At the same time, the supplier operations costs are not being impacted by this. A different license system, in that sense, would be beneficial.
Removing the forum discussions was a big setback as there was no way to connect with others and explore the many use cases and scripting one could use to solve the problem. Dundas BI documentation is shallow and sometimes ambiguous, so if the customer support is sometimes limited and there is no community or board to share/absorb knowledge, how will the developers make the product better? Dundas, included in Logi Symphony, is a highly flexible tool - every data visualization can be almost endlessly modified. I'm still working to learn the "scripting" features which open up even more options but require a much more detailed understanding of python which isn't needed for the more basic work. What do you dislike about Logi Symphony?
There are a few "unhappy Easter eggs", such as that if a formula returns a null in the first row of a table then all of the rows won't show data, even though the formula is valid for them.
There's an opportunity to improve the software by adding feedback on what is wrong when a metric set fails. Often the failure report is generic and doesn't provide detail or actionable feedback. Honestly, what makes Logi Symphony a lifesaver is how user-friendly it is. I'm not a data whiz, but I can drag and drop my way to clear, insightful reports. It's a huge time saver - no more waiting on IT to decipher my requests. Plus, the visualizations are fantastic and it is easy to implement and can be integrated easily with other applications . The interface of Logi syphony seems very intutive to me. The learning curve is very easy. We can learn and apply analytics very fast using this software.
