I originally found Kentico while attending certification for SiteCore in an attempt to find a new CMS for my organization. A partner of Kentico told me to check it out. When I did I found the best parts of SiteCore that made me think of choosing this CMS in Kentico along with a great host of features I would NOT have to build myself such as an Ecommerce suite. I have since built 4 sites in Kentico and it is my go to CMS for many of my consulting cases I do outside of my daily work. It provides great power and flexibility, a great community of partners and developers and world class support that I know I can reach out to and they will dig deep to find an answer to help me out. From the mundane question to the hard multi-day debugging issues, Kentico support is the best. Kentico allows me to deliver a solid experience with many features I don't need to build out myself like SiteCore and a host of great developer friendly features in their API and built-in macro language that make building solutions on the platform a joy. If you have not heard of Kentico in your CMS exploration, you certainly have missed out on a gem and should explore its richness. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Upgrades can be a bit cumbersome, especially the upgrade from Kentico 7 to 8 was painful. But this was to be expected as it was a fundamental change to the CMS back end and front end features. I would also like to see Kentico get more involved quicker with Microsoft ASP.NET MVC. They do provide a solution but this is one area where you cannot move fast enough. Analytics engine could also be a bit better compared to solutions in other CMS's so that users can either get away from using Google Analytics or have Google Analytics brought in to be displayed as in SiteFinity. XbyK is very flexible and easy to use. Kentico is constantly expanding the featureset and really listens to their partners for feature requests and often will incorporate them into the product roadmap. It provide a robust set of tools for digital experience management, content management and online marketing capabilities.
