What do you like best about JDXpert?

The ease of entry by our hiring managers, followed by the access to search the job description library and start a workflow to kick off a new job description, alleviates the email headaches we all have. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JDXpert?

We have been on the platform for two years, and the old user interface (UI) was not the most appealing. We are finally getting the next UI which brings the platform to the next level. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is JDXpert solving and how is that benefiting you?

When it comes to keeping job descriptions compliant, JDxpert helps with this immensely by archiving our job descriptions so we can also go back and see a version at any time. With this, the new bias tool helps remove potential future litigation by making the JDs more in sync with the current work environment Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Ashley Johnston of JDXpert

Daniel, thank you so much for your review. Great to hear that JDXpert is affording you efficiencies in your review process and enabling you to keep up with legal and work environment requirements. And the updated UI, a game changer, am I right?! Thanks again for your continued support and for entrusting JDXpert to bring your JD management process from "archaic to modern."

What do you like best about JDXpert?

You are forced to have a template, which I truly appreciate as it keeps a consistent flow when building job descriptions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JDXpert?

If you are a "techie" type of person, you can easily get lost with the "behind the scenes" details in trying to perfect the ideal JD Template. it can become a bit overwhelming, but recommend upgrading to the Enterprise edition to have the support and help you need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is JDXpert solving and how is that benefiting you?

Having a consistent "go to" tool when it comes to our Hiring Managers building their own JD's. Having the parameters of the template created for them is ideal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Ashley Johnston of JDXpert

Thank you so much for your review! The idea of creating consistency is very important to us so I'm happy to see that you feel the same way. We do pride ourselves on being a very flexible tool that can be configured to meet the needs of most organizations but to your point, it can be a bit overwhelming if you dig too far without a knowledgeable guide. But, that's what our support and customer success teams are there for! Again, thank you for feedback and continued support. We're so happy that you chose us to be your "go to" job description management tool.

What do you like best about JDXpert?

I like that the fields within a job description are customizable and able to be pre-loaded for any job specs that are standardized across an organization by level. The workflow process is relatively straightforward, as well, with ability to push job descriptions out to multiple staff within the org to review and provide feedback. Similarly, it is easy to see the complied feedback and implement job description updates based on the feedback. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JDXpert?

I strongly dislike the keyword search capabilities, which are seemingly only functional in the largest "bucket" of data. For example, roles at my institution that we house in JDXpert are all staff positions (largest bucket). Within that, they are sorted by job function and then job family. I am able to search roles within the staff position bucket with the keyword search, but if I try to apply filters like job function or job family, the search engine in the software will not pick up any results. A broader dislike is the inability of JDXpert staff to handle certain requests, such as facilitating an automatic upload of all our jobs into our HRIS system, helping with troubleshooting when the software has an error, and being available to discuss requests. While I have not personally initiated help with any of those items, our systems specialist and manager have both spent hours on calls trying to negotiate help when needed. It's been a frustrating vendor relationship. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering JDXpert:

Be clear on your terms and non-negotiable needs before signing on with this vendor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is JDXpert solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have been able to create some 1300+ role descriptors to define work across the entire staff function of our university. These are sorted by job function and job family, and it's been nice to be able to view them in various formats across levels of the organization within the JDXpert interface. When we finally were able to coordinate an automatic upload system that plugs role descriptors into our HRIS system, it made maintaining our role descriptors relatively simple (save the occasional need for manual manipulation of coding in our HRIS to fix text errors in the data transfer). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Ashley Johnston of JDXpert

Hello Kelsey and thank you for your feedback on JDXpert. We love to hear that you appreciate the system’s configuration abilities, flexible workflows, and reviewer experience. To address your concerns over our keyword searching, error troubleshooting and integrations with your HRIS, I want to first apologize for any frustration that this has caused. Not knowing your company or the specifics of your system configuration, I am unable to address your concerns within this review. Please know that your success is extremely important to us. I would like to suggest that if you’re feeling that your relationship with JDXpert isn’t 100% positive (which I can discern from this review that it is not), that you have your system administrator reach out to your Customer Success manager at success@hrtms.com and have a conversation that not only addresses your specific roadblocks, but how we can collaborate on a strategy that strengthens our relationship and improves your experience. Thank you again for your honest feedback. I have already shared your review with our Operations team who will use your comments to fuel future roadmap and process refinement.

Take the time to figure out how the tool will best support the needs of your organization and continuously gauge the needs of the organization and the capabilities of the system to meet your current needs and future needs as your organization continues to develop or change. What do you like best about JDXpert?

JDXpert team has really thought about all aspects around building a Job Description. I like the intuitive way the tool is structured to capture information and meet our requirements despite our JDs being quite unique. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JDXpert?

Nothing, so far. I haven't come across any areas where i felt JDx could've done it better. The only area we haven't explored as of now is direct integration with our newly upgraded Cloud ERP solution and user friendliness in accessing using phone, tablets etc Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is JDXpert solving and how is that benefiting you?

Our Job Descriptions used to be maintained in word documents earlier using a team shared drive. However many a times we had issues with finding out latest versions and we used to spend a considerable amount of time for searching for latest versions, sending emails to multiple stakeholders involved in updating and accessing JDs etc.

With JDxpert we have saved considerable amount of time that we used to spend in creating, maintaining and retrieving JDs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Ashley Johnston of JDXpert

Prabodh, thank you for your feedback! We take each and every review to heart and hearing that you appreciate the tool lets us know that we are doing what we set out to do...bringing a sense of "I got this!" to job description management. Thank you again for being such a strong advocate and supporter of JDXpert.

What do you like best about JDXpert?

The ease of creating workflows for job description review where all reviewers are working off the same document with all changes tracked. I am also a fan of the FLSA questionnaire. It actually saved a previous client from a major lawsuit because they were able to show the rigor around the job description review and approvals as well as the ability for employees to access their job descriptions and recommend changes that were sent through an approval process. Additionally, the software has an amazing audit trail. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JDXpert?

I cannot think of any dislikes I have with the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering JDXpert:

Job descriptions can be very difficult to manage because no one likes writing them! JDXpert makes that process so much easier. Everything being cloud based allows easy access and the client has the control over who in the organization can access which content and functionality. It can also can feed your HCM and can link to MarketPay making it a one stop shop for Compensation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is JDXpert solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use it for clients undergoing compensation design/re-design projects and job description development/consolidation projects. It allows you to ensure consistency among all job descriptions and use a central repository that management and even employees can access. It saves me a tremendous amount of time of job description projects because of the global search functionality where I can search jobs scraped from the web, the vast JDXpert database, O Net jobs, and company jobs for content. Additionally, I can see the most popular content for most sections of the job description: job summary, essential functions, education, experience, certifications, licenses, and KSAs. It takes the pain out of writing job descriptions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about JDXpert?

Seamless integration with our HRIS. Ease of use for hiring managers who historically hate the notion writing job descriptions. In-flight tracking of deliverables. Job family vertical + business unit "horizontal" comparisons of job descriptions to ensure pay equity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JDXpert?

Still looking for a reason to dislike the software : ) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is JDXpert solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before: Prior, job descriptions were getting old and some were lost. It used to take too long to support leaders who were restructuring their team(s)/Business Unit(s). Competitive compensation market pricing of jobs sat alone and static in a disparate system. Job description drafts were confused with final versions..."Who has the pen?"

After: Problems solved Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about JDXpert?

Manager and employee self-service is great. Appreciate the ability to build job descriptions utilizing sources curated from the web. Like having workflows for non-admin users to propose changes, get approval, etc. and like that it can create designated URLs for granting non-users temporary/limited visibility during these workflows. Eager for upcoming enhancements that promise to improve intuitiveness and overall appearance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JDXpert?

Outdated and messy appearance. Overly-complex logic to the backend structure, naming conventions, and overall design/build of the system. Incredibly difficult for customers (even technical system admins) to autonomously maintain/optimize on their own. Available training resources for system admins is abysmal. Technical support is hit or miss (often miss). Overall JDXpert puts customers on an island: seems it was perplexingly designed to keep customers reliant on tech support/account reps, while providing minimal customer support in return. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is JDXpert solving and how is that benefiting you?

Accommodates huge quantities of job descriptions for large, complex organizations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Ashley Johnston of JDXpert

Before addressing your feedback, I want to apologize for your dissatisfaction in our tool. We understand how frustrating it can be when a solution does not live up to expectations but please know that we take your comments very seriously and even before you posted this, have already begun addressing many of your concerns. Regarding the design of the tool, we agree. Our focus in years’ past was to create a flexible, robust and powerful system. We find ourselves in a place where we can acknowledge our design’s shortcomings and are planning to release the updated user interface late 2020/early 2021. If you or your system admin has not been approached with an opportunity to see the new design, please reach out to your customer success manager. As far as support and training, we’ve recently added more members to our support staff to manage support concerns even faster and recently rolled out our new learning management system – read all about it here - https://blog.jdxpert.com/archives/07-2020. Again, we never like to hear that a customer is displeased with their experience and encourage you to reach out to your customer success manager at success@hrtms.com to continue this discussion and resolve your concerns.
