I had used Intermapper for several years while working on a federal contract. After accepting a new job and finding they did not have the software, my first recommendation to my new Director of IT was to purchase it. After 4 years of using it, the team does not know how they managed using only a competitors alerting tools. There is no substitution for having a visual real-time representation of my network status... and its pretty impressive having hundreds of nodes spread out over multiple maps in our operations center. We use Intermapper remote clients on 4 different workstations. Making changes on one work station does not always update the same on all screens which sometimes requires that all the clients be closed and reopened to determine which map is correct. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really enjoy the automated mapping provided by Intermapper, creating automatic network diagrams is very helpful and very awesome. The interface is also quite functional, if not pretty. I felt I was able to navigate and use the product as needed without a whole lot of learning or Googling. I was happy with the resource usage on our server for what we gained as well. I personally feel that the monitoring aspect of Intermapper felt a little flakey. Sometimes, my sensors would show a device as unreachable when it was in fact still reachable. Accuracy is the prime requirement for monitoring and it let me not to trust the sensors very much. If they can get monitoring to a point where it feels as robust as its competitors in this price range, they may have a top tier product on their hands. Development seems to have slowed since Dartware sold the product to HelpSystems. Still no provision for IM RemoteAccess on IOS and the web interface is limited. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Outdated product, has not been refreshed in years, no smartphone apps, difficult to use web interface, old bugs that the company is taking years to fix or ignores and worse of all, an archaic licensing system that is linked to some unknown HW MAC IDs, which if they change or if you need a new laptop, you have to send an email and wait to get a new license key. No self serve license management or online license check. Really outdated and annoying, especially when you need it most.
