Recommendations to others considering Intermapper:
The web interface is a bit limited, so you'll want to use the client/server model. Luckily, the licensing is fairly reasonable. We run it on a Linux server, with Windows IM Remote clients. Be sure to provision lots of disk space for chart data, as unless you implement data retention standards, chart data can eat a LOT of disk space.
The markup language for creating probes is pretty simple. Read the Developer guide, download the community examples, and open them with a text editor. Pretty easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What problems is Intermapper solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used The Dude before switching from Intermapper, and this is MUCH better and more stable. The ability to view/create graphs in real time is great, and Intermapper Reports gives us the ability to do availability reports. As a WISP, we are constantly adding new technology to our network, and it's easy to create new Probes to talk to those devices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
