"InterMapper Incredible Maps"

What do you like best about Intermapper?

From the time we deployed InterMapper into our network. We are now InterMapper alert before clients login tickets of outages. To us this tool has been an amazing SNMP networking invention. The Maps and the live alerts are simply amazing Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Intermapper?

I would like to see a more versatile way of designing maps. I think the current setup is limited. I would also like to see when access to Intermapper can be availed from any location without the need for a separate license. I say this because we have a geographical wide network and we are highly mobile and would love to hire Intermapper from wherever we go Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Intermapper:

It a wonderful networking monitoring tool and I make it a point to arrange a meet up with whoever shows interest for a work through Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Intermapper solving and how is that benefiting you?

I run a wide area network. I have displayed Intermapper maps on several screens depending on the role role of the equipment. so I have switches maps, wireless access point maps etc. This helps have a real time view of everything that is happening on the network. any downtime is immediately alerted through telegram on the IT teams phones. The instability of the Remote Access client. It crashes out every few weeks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Intermapper:

Run the IM server product on your VMware cluster, and then scatter IM Remote stations around your organization, with your key employees. The key to successful use of network monitoring is NOT to know what's wrong, but to know what's NORMAL. Having IM available and running at all times gives your team awareness as to what "normal" is...so they'll have a better sense of what's *not normal*...and investigate before a the problem really takes hold. What problems is Intermapper solving and how is that benefiting you?

Beyond simple "up time"...IM helps me plan and forecast network utilization. It shows me when I need to purchase more bandwidth, and do so in an appropriate way to conserve costs while preserving the user experience. It also shows when network equipment needs upgrading, because I can trace CPU utilization and so forth. I've been an IM customer for 20 years now, and I can't imaging doing my job without it.
