What do you like best about Huntress Managed EDR?

We recently took Huntress up as our MSP main defensive software. Our Managed customers utilise the EDR and the ITDR. We use the Huntress portal every single day and it's the best software we have used so far.

Rolling out the software was incredibly easy via our RMM software for Windows devices, MACs are a bit more difficult but they always are let's face it. I was able to build a script that installed it in seconds via Ninja RMM.

We have already had several incidents that Huntress has prevented, this includes smaller issues like detecting a spreadsheet containing passwords to more severe issues like Malware being deployed. In both cases, the reports generated by Huntress are easy to read and contain clear instructions on how to remediate the issue.

The EDR works extremely well with Windows Defender and the two products work seamlessly together.

I have recently used the live chat support option and go through to a tech in about 30 seconds, the chap I spoke to knew what he talking about and was able to effectively assist me in my problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Huntress Managed EDR?

As stated previously we rolled out our Huntress via RMM. There is a MAC RMM script but this only installs part of the software. You still need to manually allow full disk access for the extension. A small issue but one I hope they will be able to fix someday. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Huntress Managed EDR?

The upside of using Huntress is how much peace of mind you get. There's a team, a very intelligent team, monitoring things alongside you. Agents go on client machine easily, deployment is a breeze. If you have questions, and during onboarding, someone is there to explain what everything in the portal means. It was truly a pleasure getting things up and running and now that it is, I sleep better knowing it's not just us looking after our clients' workstations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Huntress Managed EDR?

UPDATE: This seems to be fixed! I'm always able to log in to the site now. The one downside I can think of is a very bizarre bug affecting Canadians only that I wish were fixed. It seems that some Canadians (perhaps depending on who our ISP is?) cannot access the huntress.com website. This doesn't initially seem to be about EDR, except Huntress does a FANTASTIC job releasing relevant EDR info and dissections and new threats on their blog. The Huntress portal site is unaffected so this isn't a dealbreaker. I know the team is aware of this oddity so I'm hopeful we'll all be able to access every part of Huntress soon! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Huntress Managed EDR solving and how is that benefiting you?

The biggest problem being solved is that we can't be everywhere at once, nor can we know absolutely everything. The small businesses we take care of rely on us to be up to date with as much about tech security as possible. We in turn rely upon Huntress to leverage their own knowledge and expertise. Seeing them active in the community (on Reddit for example), watching them put out alerts right away... they give me confidence that we have far more capabilities to respond to threats than other businesses trying to keep things entirely "in-house"

I also like the ability for someone at Huntress to make an "executive decision" on my behalf or not. Because of the aforementioned expertise, if someone over there thinks there's a big problem, I want them to act! On the other side of the coin, they keep their costs down by not actioning EVERYTHING themselves. I get a helpful report of things that aren't major and can understand and respond to it myself. All this means our business is in control while still safe knowing if something major happens, we're covered. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Huntress Managed EDR?

EDR was an easy sell to my clients as more often then not, all we had to do was deploy a trial and almost immediately EDR detected threats that the previous managed A/V product we used had not detected at all. The rollout/deployment of Huntress was also a breeze using Connectwise Automate RMM it was deployed quickly and without interaction being required. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Huntress Managed EDR?

Until recently it was difficult to interact with Huntress' NOC directly to ask questions or get specific support on an issue until they added the ability to open a request with them for direct communication. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Huntress Managed EDR solving and how is that benefiting you?

Huntress EDR found persistent threats and unwanted software quickly that our previous cloud-managed AV solution had completedly ignored. The catch rate and automated resolutions was a huge timesaver versus our previous solution that repeatedly required manual admin intervention at the machine level to completely & successfully remove a detected threat. It's also been a very easy sell by demonstrating it's superior detection capabilities over out previous cheaper-but-far-less-effective solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Huntress Managed EDR?

Honestly, the main reason we like Huntress is active community engagement in an industry that's dominated by VC companies with terrible support. Huntress leads the MSP space for this reason. Additionally, they only alert you when you need to be - no alert noise when it's not needed! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Huntress Managed EDR?

Whilst I absolutely recommend Huntress, we use Blackpoint as our main MDR provider. Huntress is rapidly approaching feature parity with Blackpoint, so we'll review in another 6-12 months, but they are still lagging behind somewhat. As of May 2024, Huntress still was not taking asction on MDE (defender for endpoint/business) alerts DESPITE it being an advertised feature - they integrated with it and pulled the alerts in but didn't actually act on them whereas Blackpoint did. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Huntress Managed EDR solving and how is that benefiting you?

Huntress is great for 24/7 peace of mind and solving alert-fatigue, which many other AV/EDR vendors will unfortunately not handle for you. The deployment through our RMM was the easiest I have ever done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Huntress Managed EDR?

Today had a client click on a captcha on a website he thought was secure but turned out to be bad and it started to execute some powershell scripts and other malicious items. Huntress detected and immediately isolated the device until further investigation could take place.

Fact that their monitoring worked so well is what I'm impressed with. Client was unhappy at first but once understood the nature of the isolation we were able to get resolved allowing Huntress Agent perform the remediation steps automatically.

Overall great product and proves how solid this platform is with Huntress

Also support now has a Chat available to assiste with the incident investigation and remediation. The tech was super helpful and had full knowledge how to help me and resolve the issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Huntress Managed EDR?

I don't have anything bad to say about Huntress EDR Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Huntress Managed EDR solving and how is that benefiting you?

Keeping endpoints secure with their scanning tools and isolating them (endpoints) when something malicious runs.

The SOC is also very knowledgeable in assisting MSP Administrators like myself to help with incident, remediations and explaining the timing of releasing system from isolation.

Huntress EDR is primary tool to keep systems safe and secure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Huntress Managed EDR?

Huntress Managed EDR is great. We know that the team that are monitoring our systems know what they are doing. It's simple to setup and maintain and works great with out PSA and Ticketing system. The monthly reporting is great to show customers the value. We get regular alerts and it's easy to review and remediate any issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Huntress Managed EDR?

There is very little that I dislike about Huntress. The only bits that would be great to see are integration with Google Workspace and being able to close off alerts from our ticketing system without having to log back into Huntress. Other than that it's brilliant. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Huntress Managed EDR solving and how is that benefiting you?

As a smaller MSP it's great to have a team monitoring our clients endpoints and alerting to any issues. We use a different 3rd party AV solution but it's great to have another team checking it's work and verifying the endpoints are secure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Huntress Managed EDR?

Using Huntress is like having a wing man in Cyber Security. Always has your back when ever you need.

It has been a dream to use and deploy to our customers. With in a span of 3 weeks, 2500 endpoints. We were online!

The alerts and isolation of endpoints are instant and the reports that come with it, detail exactly what happened and even provide remedation for the endpoint. With a few clicks and a restart that endpoint is ready for action again! Automated remedation.

When ever I need to support from their SOC or Product support, I usually get it all resovled with in a single chat. The live suppport is amazing to work with and has some real personality as well. Shout out to the Support Teams!

We intergrate ours with our PSA (AutoTask) to generate tickets and alerts from the system and helps us keep track of remedations and SLAs to resolve issues. Though, I am usually sitting in the portal everyday watching endpoints come online and begin working with Microsoft Defender. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Huntress Managed EDR?

Huntress is an amazing product, however what would make it better is more reporting!

The reports are based on Monthly and Quarterly for your tenant and each client.

I want to be able to be able to pull a report on Agent Health (And more information around why an agent is degraded like Other AV - AV Name/s), Alerts against agents as like an over view for a client or even for our tenant.

They do have an API that we can use to create our own which is something I am considering devloping for our business however intergrate reports would be amazing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Huntress Managed EDR solving and how is that benefiting you?

The problem that Huntress is resolving is catching and stopping the spread of a worm or a virus and protecting end user data.

Yes, any other AV would do this however the dashboards and interfacing with them can be super clunky. Slow to load or annoying to use.

Huntress sits on top of Windows Defender and doesn't use any extra Firewall/AV engine. Just the one that comes with a Windows PC. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Huntress Managed EDR?

What I like best about Huntress Managed EDR is the team behind the product. From the SOC right through to the account managers (shout out Chris With). We have this enrolled to nearly 4k endpoints and receive constant support and updates via the portal. Features such as ransomware canaries and the ability to manage Windows Defender are big selling points for us, it also plays nicely with other MDR's/XDRs.

We roll Huntress out almost weekly to new endpoints within our RMM platform and the support pages have scripts for almost all RMM platforms. It's so easy to roll out and implement.

The ability to be called or SMS'd when a P1 is active is excellent too, although remember to not ignore calls from Maryland! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Huntress Managed EDR?

I don't dislike anything about the product itself as I think it's the best product we offer in our stack. However, when looking at unresponsive agents, there is no "Update Agent" option within the OS itself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Huntress Managed EDR solving and how is that benefiting you?

Huntress is allowing our end-users peace of mind knowing that if something isn't right with their machine, its being support by a world class SOC and a team that can respond by putting the machine into Isolation should it need to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Huntress Managed EDR?

The most helpful has to be the SOC team that's on hand to help out when there is even as much as a simple question. The product itself is extremely easy to use, and we are able to implement it through out our network quickly! The EDR has a ton of features that are extremely useful for managing devices, when an incident happens I know the EDR has isolated the device. I use Huntress everywhere, and I will continue to do so. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Huntress Managed EDR?

There is not a thing I dislike about the EDR. It works exactly as intended. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Huntress Managed EDR solving and how is that benefiting you?

If there is an incident the EDR can immediately shut off access to that machine to isolate it from the network. In a world of ever evolving cyberthreats, that's extremely helpful to fight back. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Huntress Managed EDR?

I like the 24/7 service. Anytime we have questions or need support, they are very quick to respond and helpful. If they ever see an issue, they alert you of the problem and provide you with the solution before it becomes a BIG problem. Not only does it monitor computers and servers, but it also monitors M365 email activity, quickly alerts you to compromised accounts, and allows you to disable them to minimize damage until they can be cleaned up. They will give you the ability to do some of the cleanups automatically and also tell you the manual steps to perform. The installation of Huntress can be done via various methods; all are very quick and simple. Ongoing use/management of Huntress is straightforward from a cloud-based portal and they are continually adding new features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Huntress Managed EDR?

It is hard to find a dislike. If I have to come up with something, it would be that you cannot see the current logged-in user on a computer in their portal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Huntress Managed EDR solving and how is that benefiting you?

They are our 24/7 eyes on security for computers, servers, and M365. As I said earlier, they are the 24/7 employees we could not afford to hire. The benefit is assurance for our customers and the ability for us as an MSP to sleep better at night. We love their M365 integration and they have helped stop many incidents before they sprawl out of control. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
