We've been with HUMI for several years, and they've grown immensely with many amazing tools that have saved us tons of time.
As our own business has scaled, having HUMI's Tools has allowed us to scale without the typical overhead we'd have with the processes we had prior to going with them.
The ability to make suggestions, then see them happen within a reasonable time has been great, and they are very responsive to questions about how do I do this.
They have minimal downtime, and wonderful task management, so all those little things such as did they get a first aid kit are never overlooked. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We are still working through some challenges with document formatting, as the fillable document has to be from a PDF, as a result there are spacing/formatting issues that you would not have if it was a dynamic "word like" module that you filled in the spots, then it turned it into a PDF to send to the staff to sign. It is easy to navigate, and the support team is very helpful when I have any questions and need help.
I also love that they are always continuously improving the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The emails received for time off requests - I would like to approve directly in the email. Too many times it states 'there is an earlier request' and then I have to go long in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The user experience of using the platform is so straight forward and intuitive which gives me peace of mind as a small business owner. It also makes on-boarding quick for new employees without endless training. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The price is fair, but I do think that once you start to add a lot of components it starts to get a bit unaffordable for a small business owner. It would be great to have plan options that have an included number of members e.g. 1-5 employees for a basic plan, 5-15 for a medium plan, 15-50 for a large plan and 50+ for an advanced plan. Humi has transformed our HR administrative processes. It has cut down on lag time, has improved efficiency, and has greatly improved all of our administrative processes (time off, and payroll in particular). The customer support has been quick, professional, and extremely responsive. When we switched over to the Humi system, it was incredibly easy to implement. Finally, I like having the HR information so easily accessible, as I refer to Humi multiple times each week. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't have any complaints about Humi or the services. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like their vacation tracking and employee profile. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are so many things to dislike. Humi rolled 3 products into one but never considered a user at all. It is very clear the user workflow is solely designed by engineers who avoid proper infrastructure. It is frequently down Their customer success agents are stoned or stupid or both. Their hello sign integration sucks, you cannot have individual contracts for employees because of field limitations and it is the most confusing workflow. They priced themselves out of the market. They bait and switch the price. Pricing was raised the price per employee by $2 per user during a 3 year contract. There is no live support. Their own support has to meet with you only to have to get back to you. It is perhaps the worst value HRIS you can buy, and I am stuck with it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The only good thing about Humi is that the user face looks nice, however it's not properly functional. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are several fundamental issues with the software that are very concerning. Humi is unwillign to fix these issues. They will tell you that they have role level secuirity features, however if you give employees access to the reporting feature they could have access to all payroll data. They will tell you that it integrates with Indeed but it doesn't. They will tell you things are customizable however that's an extreme understantement. Poor customer service and ticket response time. They do not actually fix any problems or issues whether small or large, their reponse will be "sorry we can't do that" and try to give you different solution that is not efficient. There is not one feature that works properly. The app only works for the time off feature. Don't waste your money on a system that doesn't work, invest in something you can trust. Humi simplifies all our day to day uses. Easy to manage vacation requests, performance reviews, benefits, recruiting and so much more all in once centeralized place. We are looking forward to adding the payroll component in the near future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Often humi emails get trapped by spam blockers, which has caused some problems for the hiring process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The usability, It is set up in a way that is straight forward and has lots of features that are easy to implement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It doesn not sync to quickbooks but still is helpful with the journal entry export Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is straightforward to navigate, very user-friendly, and the customer support team is very responsive and helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The performance section is not as useful as it could be for performance appraisals. I have to use an additional program/platform for this purpose. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

In my original review, I noted that this platform was the easiest to set up. I have implemented 4 different payroll systems of different magnitudes in my career. We are a team of 35 and Humi by far has been the BEST platform for me to naviagate. It was easy to set up, but the training was missing key components. The training was live so you couldn't do any of it on your own. and each training session reviewed the easy parts of navigating. It didn't go into detail on how to actually set things up.
Upon signing up - I had explained how we operate, we have two sets of employees both paid on different dates. I was told that it wouldn't involve having two accounts and that it would be easy to integrate them all together. That was definitely not the case. We were looking for a low price per month for pay, but it has costed me alot of time trying to bandaid solutions together. We were issuing cheques beforehand and it was quite a lenghtly process, but Humi has become a much longer process with all the additional adjustments and checks and balances we need to do to ensure our employees are being paid correctly.
H/R:
- The App is great but would be nice if admin users were notified when the app goes down or changes have been made to it that requires employees to reinstall.
- The H/R side of it is great - which is my understanding (I learned after) that Humi is more HR focused. It's similar to Docusign. the only downside is that if you have a co-signor, the co-signor account stores all of these documents which can be confusing
- you can't edit the default permissions for 'Employees' so you have to create your own permission set. The 'Default Employee' permissions allow you to see everyone's birthdate, etc. which is a huge breach of confidential information. You cannot openly share this information if your employees have not given consent. so you have to create your own and duplicate it all for minor adjustments
Payroll:
As payroll is quite new to them, they are lacking alot of simple tools and payroll best practices.
- Vacation accruals are done based on a monthly accrual of entitlement (80 hours per year rather than based on % of gross earnings) which is a huge downfall. They don't track vacation accruals either so this has added an extra step for me outside of Humi.
- You cannot select what deductions come off an off-cycle pay run versus a regular pay run (CRA additional tax deductions are taken off all pay runs regardless of type), typically final pays need to be done on an off cycle (which wouldn't include regular deductions such as benefits, etc).
- They are limited with Pay period functions. If you have employees with different pay dates/periods they have to be on separate accounts, which means nothing talks to each other. This is an anomoly for our organization, but it's caused a huge headache when I was told it wouldn't be a problem.
- Some income codes cannot be removed, even if you don't use them (makes the payroll register really long when it's not necessary), you have to add your own if the default ones don't work. For example, they have a Commission pay code - but it's taxed with the bonus tax method which is inappropriate when it's the way they are paid, so you can't edit that code, you have to create your own 'Commnission' code and set it up properly. Now you are stuck with having two commissions codes on the pay run all becasue you can't make minor adjustments to the paycode and how it works.
- the EHT doesn't calculate on each payroll until you reach the threshold. As a result, I've had to continue to keep a manual spreadsheet to track EHT accurately so I can accrue for it each month.
- GL Codes don't link together, I have employees who take an advance on the first pay run, So I have to issue an off-cycle each month (where i have to enter everyone's advances manually each month) and then have a separate deduction code to take it off on the second pay run. as the Income code is adding to their earnings, I now have to review their T4's at the end of the year and remove their YTD advances out.
I've encountered issues with employees that i've had to take back to the technical team, employees not being able to be added to payroll, employees not being able to request time off, etc. Normal setup flaws.
If you have simple payroll with all salaried employees, or employees with little to no changes each pay, Humi could be great. Working for a dealership with complex payroll needs (commissions, bonuses, advances, hourly and salary), Humi is not the answer.
I love the look and the ease of use, but it just doesn't have what it should for payroll professionals. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The training process is slow and too spaced out. I was looking to implement this fast but the lead time is a bit longer than it needs to be (the platform is so simple to manage)
This is not a great solution for payroll - There have been bumps along the way that has set me back in my processes. Not the best platform out there if you have complex payroll needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
