The pricing model is perfect. The software is much more refined and easy to use than ITGlue and it isn't backed by a toxic company like Kaseya. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lack of officially supported migration off of ITGlue. The unofficial one worked okay but it would've been much more seamless having an official method. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Hudu makes it easy for our team to share passwords and knowledge. We have been able to cut down on "tribal knowledge", which makes onboarding and offboarding team members much more smooth. It is a powerful tool that is really what you make of it, allowing you to decide how in depth you want to go or in what ways you want to use it. I particularly like that you can export the entire system for an easy handoff. We periodically export a handoff document (which ends up being hundreds of pages) and put it in an envelope with a tamper evident seal, and place that in a fireproof filing cabinet, as well as a second copy offsite. In the event that something unthinkable happens to myself, my team, or our physical facilities, I am confident that this document would help get our company infastructure back up and running quickly and smoothly. Some of the features can be difficult to utilize. Some of the integrations are less flexible. While it is extremely open and will let you customize or make of it what you want, that can be a blessing and a curse since it takes some time to really discover how you want to use it. Some more guided tutorials and templates would be helpful (there are some, but more would be nice). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Personally, ease of use is probably my favorite feature of Hudu. The navigation is pretty simple, and with each update, it seems to get easier to find what I need. It seems the developers truly have their finger on the pulse of what users need and want. While I have come across a few issues and difficulties with configuring things exactly how I would like to see them, the process overall has been great, and support has been excellent, expedient, and, most often, very simple to deal with. We utilize Hudu on a daily basis. This has become absolutely indispensable to our operation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Least helpful feature for me, is the mobile application. The mobile application is not very intuitive in my opinion. It's difficult to locate and move between folders, and different options within Hudu. Another factor I do not like, is that with an API key, it seems stored passwords could be exported in plaintext. Leaving valuable and important details that may be stored vulnerable to relatively simple attacks, if not properly configured or considered. I would really like to see further security measures in terms of the Password Vaults. Self-hosted setup, we ran into some hiccups along the way, but it's been some time since our initial configuration, to be fair. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We are a small MSP company and about half a year a ago we were looking for a tool to document the IT-infrastructure of our customers.
After trying the usual tools known in the field, we found Hudu from a post on reddit.
Hudu is cheaper than most other tools and offers features, that are often not found in other tools.
Like integrations to RMM Software, a reliable working mobile app and good customizability. Also the end user portal is nice to have.
Customer support with free onboarding has also been very useful.
All in all we are very happy with this tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Actually there are not many things i dislike and hudus support is always quick to answer. Also they are constantly working on new features.
Two things are a bit sub-par:
- end customer portal is only very basic and could need a rework (basically change the end customer portal to the same view as the main technician portal)
- Unifi integration is not working with cloud hosting, but the support confirmed that they are working on it as the Unifi API is very new. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

in 2025 the most important thing to think about with IT notes and information is security. Hudu offers the flexability to allow us to host our critical data on prem, but also still use modern authentication methods using DUO SSO or other solutiuons. There is a full audit log that can even tell us who looked at passwords and when. The tools built in keep us organized and even allow OTP codes to be shared among many people whne needed. Sometimes new features are added that arent well documented or create problems we werent expecting. For example an update was made to the browser plugin that nags our staff to save every password they type in HUDU with no central way to turn it off. Even though the plugin never used to have this "feature" until an update. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Hudu has been an essential tool for Hemisphere, streamlining our operations with centralized documentation, customizable workflows, and seamless integrations. It improves collaboration, accelerates onboarding, and enhances security, empowering our team to provide faster, more effective IT support. While the initial setup requires effort, the long-term benefits in efficiency and organization make Hudu an invaluable asset for any IT service provider. Highly recommended! Currently, our struggle with Hudu is the processes and their heierarchy. As child processes don't update when the global / parent updates, then we have to manually update each child process, which is very tedious. An option to have an "additional" steps option to parent processes when in a company scope to reduce the need for rework would be greatly appreciated! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Firstly, the support has been very great every time I reach out. Whether it be help with the API, custom CSS to apply to the site to make certain visual changes, or help with a bug, the support is always fast and very helpful. I feel that the price being $30/user is a little high for self-hosting, but the support makes it worth it.
Secondly, the speed of jumping between pages is so snappy that using something from Microsoft's admin dashboards feels EXTREMELY clunky in comparison. We use the self-hosted version of Hudu, so I can't speak for the hosted version, but I'm always so happy with how snappy everything loads. Writing up KB Articles is also very easy and fast. Setting up the self-hosted version was very quick and easy, whch they have simple guides for on their site.
Lastly, they listen to their community. We've been using Hudu for over a year and have watched as many community suggestions get implemented into the product, with many more on the way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The biggest downside in my opinion is the "External Portal" feature. It feels very barebones and lackluster compared to creating a paid account with "view only" permission. For example, in the External Portal, you can not customize the list view of assets. Additionally, clicking on a linked asset from within another asset doesn't work from the External Portal. On top of that, you can't view the "Expirations" list from the External Portal, whch is a key feature we need to share with our clients. When bringing these complaints up to support, they took the Tim Apple route of saying "Just buy your mom an iPhone", where they told me to buy the external user a paid subscription to have the better features/accessibility. This would very quickly add a ton of cost which neither we, nor our clients want to pay for.
Love the product but really wish there was more care for the External Portal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As a small IT system house in Germany, we have long been faced with the problem of organising our IT documentation properly. We had previously been using a combination of OneNote and Excel to help us - quite a mess, to be honest. There was not only a lack of structure, but also a lack of security. Not to mention the fact that team collaboration was often more frustrating than fun. Documents were difficult to find, current versions were often overwritten, and sometimes you simply had the feeling that you were spending more time searching for information than actually working.
Then we came across Hudu - and what can I say? It changed everything. For a small team like ours, Hudu is a real game changer. Suddenly everything has its place, and in a way that is not only logical but also visually appealing. The clear structures and the ability to find any relevant information with just a few clicks have made our day-to-day work incredibly easy. The customer documentation in particular is now not only complete, but also centrally available. This saves us time and enables us to process customer enquiries faster and more efficiently.
A real advantage of Hudu is its integration into existing systems, such as our ticket system. Alerts can be forwarded directly, which helps us a lot in our day-to-day work. The ability to control authorisations at a fine granular level is also a real plus point. Everyone in the team sees exactly what they need to see - and nothing more. This keeps sensitive data protected and creates a good sense of control and overview.
Overall, Hudu has revolutionised the way we work. The days of searching and clutter are a thing of the past, and we now have a documentation solution that is perfectly tailored to the needs of a small team. With a few small adjustments it would be even better - but even as it is, we are absolutely convinced. If you are an IT service provider still working with Excel and the like, you should definitely take a look at Hudu. It's worth it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
But no tool is perfect, and Hudu is no exception. One thing we would really like to see is better customisability of alerts, especially emails. Currently, it is not possible to edit the content or subject of these emails or add variables. Especially when these alerts are forwarded to a ticket system, it would be enormously helpful to be able to customise them. Of course, this is not a deal-breaker, but it would be a function that would give us even more flexibility in our day-to-day work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Everything about Hudu is better, it is a very responsive product with great customer serivce when we do need to reach out for something. It is also much more affordable than other products out there. Product is easy to use and full of features to keep us moving and wanting to use the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We haven't identified any but will make sure to submit feedback for consideration if we do as we feel our opinion will actually be heard and considered unlike other products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Hudu is a one stop shop for documentation and password management. We went from running our business off excel sheets to what I believe to be the best documentation platform for the IT industry. The migration was relatively painless and the time we are saving now offsets the cost of having Hudu in the first place. Not to mentune the security piece of mind that comes with it. Customer support has fast response time and are very helpful as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Hudu browser extension is a bit clunky but we have been receiving updates to improve on it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We've used many products over the years, including ones owned by Special K - so coming across Hudu which still has a "helpful" support team and more versatility to host your data yourself if you like was refreshing. It works extremely well for us and was much easier than attempting to develope something ourselves and stick a square peg in a round hole. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's not as many integrations as there are with some other products, but there's enough for us to be very efficient and the list is always growing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
