I worked on migrate for compute engiene version 4 & 5.Compared to M4CE version 4(very tough to setup) , V5 is much simpler to setup. It took aroud 30mins to setup the tool & migrated my first vm from vmware to google cloud within an hour. Very simpler tool given by google for the migration from on-prem or any other cloud platform. Anyone with basic cloud knowledge can deploy M4CE with ease. Best part is LINUX VM WITH centos 6 os , i migrated to google cloud , eventhough it is EOL. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Oh , the most painful part is setting up M4CE version 4 setup. Too dificult to deploy. I took around 5 days to setup but failed to setup properly. The only option for Linux version 6 vm's migration is with M4CE version 5 tool only , M4CE Version 4 & OVF deploy method didnt allow for linux 6 vm migration. It's too complicated to setup. It makes moving windows vms into google very easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The initial setup can be a bit of a pain and the script to add a project doesn't always add the required accounts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
