What do you like best about Giveffect?

As an Events Coordinator, it was extremely easy to keep up with goals and sponsors for our event. We were able to set up the campaign page in less than an hour and go live. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Giveffect?

From fundraising and events to volunteers and marketing, we do a lot at our small nonprofit. Giveffect is a great all-in-one platform that allows us to keep all our constituents all in one place: we can see who has donated, attended an event, participated in a program, volunteered. In Giveffect, our record-keeping is shared across departments and the platform helps break down internal silos. We use it every day, and Giveffect's support team is always there to help us if we encounter any issues. Their online chat feature and the frequent check-ins from our account manager (Shout-out to Craig! He's awesome!) are especially helpful for navigating our database. What do you dislike about Giveffect?

With so many overlapping features, it took some time to wrap my head around how our database was set up (I was not part of the team that first signed up for Giveffect at our organization), and as with any nonprofit CRM, it's easy to clutter up our data. There have also been little limitations here and there that we wish were different about Giveffect, but their support team is great and helping us find workarounds and sending our feedback to their product team to implement changes. What do you like best about Giveffect?

Giveffect's Client Success Account Managers are fantastic; they know the system inside out with fast response times. Even though we're a small nonprofit, we're treated like a top-tier and that feels good. The interface is easy to learn, with more features than we need. The 'Mission Control' dashboard visualizes top stats in graphs and customizable parameter blocks. I can track donations with notifications. Their account managers help with training, troubleshooting, and taking notes on feature requests, which I appreciate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Giveffect?

Some feature workarounds can be clunky; like surveying members, which is possible but integrating form data back into individual records is problematic when it should be automatic. Donation pages are generated through GE without our domain name, just a generic GE domain. Email services are limited to Mailchimp and Sparkpost, and both are an extra fee. The interface has many tabs on the left panel, which can be hard to read. The mobile app is just for tickets and point of sale, not viewing stats or other functions - it'd be nice to have a fuller-featured app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Giveffect?

What do you like best about Giveffect?

Although we decided to go with another platform for our needs, I was really impressed with Giveffect's capabilities. Very user friendly with lots of support and the process of researching it was made so easy by their team, especially Leah. What do you like best about Giveffect?

Giveffect is relatively easy to use for everyone. The admin side is easy to train staff. They have a series of in-depth training videos. You can set up notifications in several different ways and automate reports. You can import data spreadsheets in many CRM tabs rather than entering data one by one. The system has frequent updates and new features, and the company listens to the customers and implements what we need. Volunteer tracking is robust and compatible with mobile devices. They have one of the better public-facing volunteer calendar designs. When a day has multiple volunteer events scheduled, the calendar doesn't get jumbled. Registration and forms are intuitive for our constituents, which is one of the most important variables in volunteer tracking. They have a chat support that is actually helpful! What do you dislike about Giveffect?

The user interface on the admin side has really small text. By default I zoom in 125% when using Giveffect, but for less tech savvy admins, they may find this frustrating. You cannot embed campaign pages onto an external website, which isn't ideal for me. And only certain tiers of membership have the opportunity to use an external email address to send volunteer notifications and reminders. I don't understand the gatekeeping of that feature since the customer pays an external email marketing platform based on number of emails anyway. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Giveffect?

GE (Giveffect) is an intuitive tool that tracks online payments, can sync to other software such as DonorSearch, and can "batch" multiple offline payments. If you have a question, the chat support quickly responds (given you are asking during business hours). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Giveffect?

There is no option to issue a partial refund, and there is no accounting for taxes. I understand this is a CRM designed for nonprofits, so selling tangible items may not be that common. Editing contacts is a bit of a task, as you have to navigate through a few windows, and addresses could be ranked or sorted better. When there is an insufficient address, there's currently no way to mark it besides listing it as a previous or secondary address. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Giveffect?

I like that it is a comprehensive CRM. I like that I can also track volunteers as well. My sole purpose for using Giveffect is to keep track of off-line donations made to us and it make sure we are writing thank yous for them and can steward them properly. We also really like to use the campaign option not only for volunteers but also for fundraising efforts. It allows us to update our donors regularly and we can create individual websites for each campaign also. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Giveffect?

When running reports, I don't particularly appreciate how long it takes and that I feel like my reports are always jumbled. Also, I wouldn't say I like that there is not as much flexibility and customization with the buttons on the campaign page. It functions well right now, but it would be nice to have a little more options with it. The only other thing I dislike about Giveffect is that it is kind of hard to get in contact with customer service if you do not pay for a higher-level plan; that is very frustrating. Make sure you are using it for all the intended functions. It is also helpful to make sure you are keeping records straight and not letting too many hands in the pot. I would also recommend to make a plan for exactly what you want to use Giveffect for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Right now, we are using Giveffect to clean up some records and help with internal communication errors when it comes to our donors and volunteers. We have realized that we are able to capature more data and information that we have previously been using the system for. It has been nice to figure that out and be able to use more of the functions of Giveffect. Hopefully we can continue to find new solutions and benefits that we have not realized yet. What do you like best about Giveffect?

One CRM system that incorporates donor management, email, volunteer management, peer to peer fundraising, reporting, embeddable donation pages,etc. etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The developers went very wide with all their modules, but it's taken them some time to build out the functionality of each. We didn't want to try to tie multiple systems together, but we've struggled with a couple of the modules. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Giveffect:

None of these CRM systems do the hard work of cleaning your data before implementation. I recommend hiring a data analyst, or data hygiene specialist to prepare your data before porting dirty data into a new system. If you really plan on using all the modules, make sure you spell out your requirements in each of the specialty areas to make sure Giveffect fits everyone's needs. Don't assume that say, the volunteer module will support your team without them being part of the process. This system goes very wide and in many organizations, all these functions don't live in a single department. To get maximum value, you should use all the modules, which means all potential users should map out their requirements and test the system before purchasing.
