GCPay streamlines the process of payment processing of our subcontractors. It is customizable to what our company requires in the form of compliance items, certified payroll reports, retainage. GCPay makes the subcontractor's part of the billing process easy as well. Step by step instructions (with screenshots) help the subcontractor move easily through the process of creating their billings in the GCPay portal.
The subcontractor can track their submittals in the status bar... status updates are right there, letting them know when a billing has been submitted, viewed and approved or rejected.
The GCPay Support Team is absolutely amazing! Always a quick response to us or our subcontractors regarding any issues that they have in the billing process. I've received numerous emails from subcontractors stating that the GCPay Support Team always has the answer to any issue to resolve it quickly and easily. Subcontractors new to the GCPay billing process appreciate the Support Team having access to their screen so that they can be "walked" through whatever issue they might have with the program. The only downside I would have with GCPay is that I don't see what the subcontractors see in GCPay. This is only a problem when a subcontractor has an issue with their side of the process. Since I can't see what they do, I can't always help them figure out the solution and have to pull in GCPay Support to assist. This is never a real issue though, as the Support Team is so quick to respond.
This makes it a learning experience for me as well, as I take the information the Support Team gives to the subcontractor regarding any issue and keep it in a file in case it comes up for someone else in the future. Bonus! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like best about GCPay is that it removes a great deal of the human error from the subcontractor billing process. Subcontractors Schedule of Values MUST equal their subcontract value. Their math always adds up on their billings. There are no missing formulas. They cannot overbill a line item or bill for change orders that aren't approved.
All of this has saved countless hours of accounting time on our part. Also, having the integration with Intacct is crucial to us being able to use GCPay. I have been asking GCPay for a while to improve their sub-tier/supplier management. I know that they have made improvements. It is now on me to explore those improvements to determine if it will fit our needs.
We would also like GCPay to consider reducing the price of ACH payments. We appreciate that they offer this service, but it could get expensive for us and/or our subcontractors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The most helpful part about GC Pay for my position is the subcontractor management. I enjoy being able to track every subcontractors that had submitted their bill and be able to download every document that was attached to it in a report to better organize the work I do. The support is the best I've seen so far. The chat support is quick and solves all of our issues quickly. The whole system is easy and simple to use, with all the features we need as GCs. But the support takes it to the next level. This is our best software purchase of the past ten years. Implementation was easy and quick. We were up and running within a month. The customer service at GCPay is one of a kind! A real person answers the phone and when you send an email, it's answered by a real person who responds to any issues quickly. You can tell they understand all construction lingo as well. I never feel like I need to explain anything to them, they just understand when I ask anything.
We recently implemented a new field management software with GCPay and it's gone seemlessly. It always amazes me that if I have any issues or questions, it just takes a phone call or an email to suport and it's resolved within minutes! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Finding a specific user can sometimes be difficult to search using the "add company" function, especially if they have more than one available profile. This is usually something to do with the actual vendor setting up their account improperly but can usually be figured out with the assistance from GC Pay Support. I love how simple it is to navigate around GCPay. Customer support is incredibly responsive and made implementation a breeze for our projectss that were already a third of the way through construction. GCPay integrates seamlessly with Procore and has numerous features that make billing easy and effective, and they continue to come out with new features on what appears to be a monthly basis. The beauty of GCPay is the ability it has of easing the payment issue in construction projects. The software is easy to use and automates most of the mundane items such as lien waivers for which we have benefited a lot from. It’s also able to integrate directly with accounting systems which make it very easy to balance payments. Also, constantly updated data promotes information sharing, it has effectively eradicated matters arising from payment issues and has enabled projects to run smoothly and effectively. The only disadvantage of GCPay is that compared to other systems, it has somewhat restrained reporting options. Here it is sufficient for the payments processing chores, but if we require more detailed financial information or reports, then it is not suitable. The software can at times take a long time especially if it is processing many invoices at once during busy times of the month. By far, the most astonishing feature of GCPay is just how it simplifies the payment segment so much. There has been a considerable amount of time saved and ease in the management of pay applications and lien waivers, which have in the past been quite time consuming. This efficiency has sought to have a positive bearing on our overall project duration. In addition, the customer support team has also been very friendly and helpful, guaranteeing that any hurdles we run into are solved as soon as possible without interrupting work. All in all, GCPay is quite dependable but when it comes to handling large file uploads, the site is slow, slower than the last straw when we still had limited time to finish a project. This explains why we also encountered problems when setting up for the start and going through the training and it took us sometime to fully incorporate the software into our operations.
