It is easy to use. I like the folder structure setup. The ability to create galleries is also great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I didn't have any say in how it was set up and we weren't up to date on upgrades, so some of the downsides of what I experienced were probably due to this, but the search feature was my biggest frustration because there didn't seem to be a way to search within results. I think suitcase fusion is an excellent tool for any graphic designer. At this point, its one of those things you can't not use after using. I also had some technical issues a month ago and the team on chat was very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As always, I'm not a huge fan of the subscription model, but I understand it must be the way. I do wish that the program would clean up a lot of the duplicate fonts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Extensis Portfolio allows users to upload files and documents and manage the accessibility using permissions for both internal teams and clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
No dislikes, the product is really good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The main functions of Extensis Portfolio include Asset library, Customizable branding, Metadata Management, Reporting/ Analytics, File conversion, Search/ Filter, Workflow Management, Asset Sharing, Asset categorization and many more. By using Extensis Portfolio the user also gets a free trial which helps them evaluate if it works according to their needs or not.It is available for both Windows and Mac. It gives images in the form of PDF which is a professional way. Images can be found very easily with just few clicks. The software is works identically like windows and Mac. PDF download option makes the work easier. The support system is incredible as they are professional and respond to the questions right away and also provide a solution. The cost is very low as compared to its competitors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is can be only installed and it is not web based so user gets hindered because they can only use it from their computer. Sometimes it is difficult to run on Mac as compared to on Windows. There needs to be advanced level of customization so it can fit according to our needs. If you are a beginner or a new worker it can be difficult to get used to the advanced features they have. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Easy to use and intuitive DAM. The drag and drop feature is a great time saver with designers. Adding files the the network and auto keywording is a great feature of this DAM. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish the mobile app was more well defined and robust. It does not allow for as easy an upload and integration into the main gallery as I would like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to create and manage multiple Catalogues and associated user-access has been very useful in partitioning specific content within the University, allowing a broad user-base without worrying about incorrect or unauthorized use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
NETPublish is very underwhelming. Although it does simplify the task of creating web-galleries for stakeholder use it lacks the abilities I really need such as:
• significant branding options or
• an ability to self-build a theme such as say WordPress which would enable say a Brand platform;
• allowing the download of vectors. Currently vectors download the Jpg preview Portfolio creates to show in the page
• Allowing a choice in what sizes/options can be downloaded - a simple option to choose a size or variation allowed for download would be great. This might b a simple Catalogue batch resize to create variations and then choose that target path as the download, when a smaller verion might be used as the web-page thumbnails.
In the Portfolio app itself:
• differentiating file types, so when disallowing originals to be downloaded, items like PDFs can't be downloaded, currently if originals are not allowed the PDFs download the jpg preview.
• A real issue has been that certain libraries within Portfolio need updating and present a security concern, so we can't give access to the app to outside stakeholders, so we can only give them access to web galleries which doesn't work very well.
• Being flash-based is a concern. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to find images reasonably speedily with the necessary attached information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In comparison to the old desktop version, to load and tag images it is slower, not as efficient, and not so easily adaptable to the variations of individual end-users. It is also more limited in terms of asset management. The software (maybe our internal setup within our organisation I accept) doesn't always function as it should when embedding metadata during the importing and exporting of images. For people who are not regular users, it not as intuitive as it should be. Colleagues seem to avoid using it which negates one of the major principles of using Portfolio in terms of distribution. Ease of file uploads (including large video files), bulk metadata management and searchability have made Extensis Portfolio a must have in our workplace. The ability to easily create catalogues with specific user access to each unit in our department provides more than enough control of assets. Simple server-side upgrades, backups and data restore options make administration effortless.
The added advantage of dropping in new ‘watch folders’, from your legacy network share options and old archives, makes for a much time reduced migration into Portfolio. Because of this I moved years’ worth of assets into Portfolio in a few weeks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Upgrading clients on different machines requires a download from Extensis Portfolio. An automated built-in client updater would save time and help keep everyone on the latest version.
To save time it would be nice to easily share a path to a folder. i.e. If a user sends me a path for a group of assets there is no quick way to enter the path to get to the same folder. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The user interface isn't too daunting and is really intuitive, almost 'friendly', which gives our staff the confidence to focus on what they need to do rather than being put off by trying to work out 'how' to do what they need.
It doesn't tie all staff into having to use it. As a system it can sit parallel to other activity that takes place on our files, so our staff have the nice interface, and our IT teams can still undertake maintenance of the files/servers.
We haven't done much with the API, but are looking forward to seeing what we can do with that to help integrate with other workflows/systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Out IT team would prefer a Linux version to make it easier for them to maintain.
It can sometimes run a bit slow, but that is due to the way we have it setup rather than the software itself, so it's worth spending the time to get the set up right from the start as this can be a burden in hindsight. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like it because I can import documents easily and it helps me even more in incorporating image, audio and video files of all formats. The management feature allows me to organize the site content into catalogs, folders, and galleries. I used it the first time when I went to my Aloo Telecom customer and I really liked the product Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
On some low-resource computers, I noticed some crashes Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
