I like receiving emails with tracking information and the ease of using the Descartes MacroPoint app and website to check the caller ID and know where the cargo is located. It really helps us track the trucks and see the unit's location so we can take action if there's a deviation from the planned route. The updates maybe? I mean, some clients would like to get updates, like, more frequently. So sometimes, like, the lapses of time maybe ten minutes or one hour, for some people is too long. So maybe having, like, small errors, gaps of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Well, maybe the main challenge is sending the MP to the drivers and then having to trust service providers to comply with the tracking requirements. If they don’t, you still end up relying on manual monitoring, which means you’re only partially meeting the goal. That’s what I dislike about this. We set planned inbound dates and time. As such, isolating loads that will miss planned inbound times can sometime be problematic. This could be due to my lack of knowledge on the platform. Our account is set up for multiple locations on multiple ERP systems, this sometimes makes it more cumbersome due to sifting out loads that aren't the ones that i work with. It would also be beneficial if there were flags or alerts in the system to let us know that a load will miss planned inbound times or if it's in our yard past a time that will determine that it won't make it on time. It is very useful when sending tracking instructions to the drivers I work with, I can see them almost in real time, although sometimes I have some issues but nothing major, and being interconnected with the tool for tracking loads, it makes it much easier for me to mark all loads as picked up and delivered, it is very easy to use. I would like to be able to keep a record of the phone numbers I have already used when tracking, and not have to search for and enter them manually each time. There should be a section for driver records that is also 100% editable when saving them, like a phone contact that I can just select and it automatically gets placed in the load to be tracked. I use Descartes MacroPoint for tracking shipments at our freight brokerage, and I like that it shows where our shipments are in real time. I appreciate that it's the industry leader and most drivers have used it before, making it easier to adopt. I find it really helpful to tell when a truck is going to be late to a shipper or receiver. MacroPoint is very beneficial to our business and it is a great platform to use for digital tracking. They are very helpful when questions arise and get back to us in a timely manner. I like how Descartes MacroPoint makes tracking loads easier, so I don't have to make manual check calls for updates. I appreciate its ease of use, and the control tower feature is really valuable for getting a big picture view of all loads and allows me to filter as needed. I really appreciate being able to track my truckload shipments in real time, both before and after pickup. This feature is particularly useful when trucks are running late for pickups and I have to coordinate with shipper personnel who may need to stay after hours to load. I would like to see better reporting and a more comprehensive API. The current 'did this load track' metric is not as granular as I would like it to be; I would like to see a ping frequency metric with a map visual to tell me where potential dead zones are in my routes.
