What do you like best about Crowdin?

Crowdin has brought us numerous benefits, among which the most significant include:

• Third-party Integrations: Crowdin's seamless integration with tools such as Zendesk, Bitbucket, and GitHub has significantly simplified our workflow. These integrations are user-friendly, allowing even members of our team without a technical background to handle them effortlessly.

• Intuitive User Interface: Compared to other CAT systems, Crowdin's GUI is straightforward and easy to understand, which significantly reduces the learning curve.

• Automated Workflows: The ability to set up automated translation processes, including machine or AI-powered translations, is a critical advantage that speeds up the availability of translations.

• Granular User Structure: Crowdin enables us to assign specific groups or teams to particular projects, simplifying project management and assignments.

• Excellent Support: The customer support is outstanding, with response times of less than 24 hours. The quality of support and the provision of necessary information are almost always guaranteed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Crowdin?

Despite the many advantages, there are some areas where Crowdin could still be improved:

• Granular Permissions: Although the detailed permission settings are useful, there are limitations in assigning roles. For example, it's not possible to make translators into project members.

• Global Communication Function: A missing feature is the ability to communicate with users on a global level, e.g., to directly address people with specific criteria.

• Implementation of Feature Requests: Some of our feature requests have been pending for a considerable time without information on when they will be implemented. Additionally, support for certain functions, like the Translation Companion for integration into Zendesk, has been discontinued, which represents a step back for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Crowdin solving and how is that benefiting you?

Crowdin has significantly improved and simplified our translation processes. The platform effectively supports us in engaging our global community members and delivering high-quality translations faster. For teams and companies looking to streamline their translation processes, Crowdin offers a robust, user-friendly solution. We look forward to continuing to grow with Crowdin and making our content accessible worldwide to our gaming community. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Crowdin?

In my opinion, the most valuable asset of Crowdin is the clarity of the UI as well as the availability of powerful project management features. It is rather easy to communicate with the translators as well as to monitor the project’s progress at any moment. They slow down our frontend and uses requests to keep the translation files updated with tools like GitHub and Slack. The automation and the support to a number of languages allowed for great progress in the localization process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Crowdin?

One drawback, with Crowdin is that the system is not very fast and this is most apparent when working on complex projects that include many language files. These slowdowns are always irritating, and at times, have caused disruptions in our project schedules. Moreover, the rather high prices that are offered might be a bit steep for the teams that are just starting or have a limited budget to work with. These weaknesses have at times affected our operations and have forced us to search for stop gap measures to work around them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Crowdin solving and how is that benefiting you?

Crowdin makes it easy to manage multiple translations through collaboration and automation in one platform. It has made it easier for us to localize, reduced mistakes, and enhanced the workflow’s effectiveness. In particular, real time tracking and integration with other software have enhanced the management of deadlines and language uniformity. This allows our team to provide high quality translations in less time, while also improving the company’s operations and globalization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Crowdin?

Crowdin is always trying to be one step ahead in new technology rather than extorting customers with traditional way of translation within a TMS. Be it their affordable prices or AI integrations, I believe they are currently the best platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Crowdin?

They could polish their features a bit more before release, and some existing features also need a bit love to work with the newer features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Crowdin?

It was pretty easy and intuitive to set up our project to start to use the translation services that are provided. We use Machine Translation for the first iteration of translation in our application, and setting up the workflow was easy, and it's is extremely convenient. We have another project on our team that uses a Google Spreadsheet to track translation strings, and with the integration of Machine Translation, the localization process for our project is simple, convenient, and easy.

The one time that I reached out to Crowdin support, they were very prompt to respond, and I knew that I was getting a response from a real person. The outcome was not what I had hoped it would be, but I felt satisfied that I got a definitive answer.

Overall, I think the tool is very effective, versatile, and easy-to-use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Crowdin?

A couple downsides that we have found are specific to one of the integrations that we use, so this may not apply to all. We use the GitHub integration, and occassionally we will find that the Machine Translation did not happen for one or more languages. We catch this issue in our `l10_dev` branch PR, which is good.

When we find that the Machine Translation did not happen for one or more languages, we oftentimes need to pause and resume the GH integration; however, **only** the user who set up an integration can modify/edit that configuration. Thankfully, other users can pause and resume the "sync" of the integration, so we have been able to fix the un-translated translation strings by simply pausing and resuming.

This may or may not be seen as a downside, but I do not like how the two-factor authentication is forced upon you. We have a shared user that we can use to log in to our Crowdin project; however, the email for this user has been updated to use our department's billing email, which I do not have access to. This also happens to be the same user that created the GH integration, so if I want to modify that GH integration, I have to reach out to someone to verify my login attempt. This is not the most convenient experience, because other people's availability is not constant. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Crowdin solving and how is that benefiting you?

The needs that we have are localizing a Web application and doing so with very little human intervention, and Crowdin has been fulfilling those needs for us Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Crowdin?

What I like most about Crowdin is its intuitive interface that makes managing multilingual projects simple, along with its real-time collaboration tools, which allow teams to work together seamlessly. The integrations with popular platforms also help automate the workflow, saving time and reducing manual effort Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Crowdin?

What I like the least about Crowdin is that the pricing can be a bit steep for smaller teams or projects, and some advanced features have a learning curve that might require extra time to fully utilize. Also, some file formats or multi-format files are not supported. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Crowdin solving and how is that benefiting you?

Crowdin is helping us streamline the localization of our software to meet the legal standards for different regions. It simplifies managing translations across multiple languages, ensuring accuracy and consistency while speeding up the process, which helps us stay compliant with legal requirements efficiently. What do you like best about Crowdin?

The UI is crisp and navigation is intuitive, allowing easy access to all features. Initially, I intended to translate just two products into Brazilian Portuguese. After mastering the navigation and review features, I expanded to more languages and utilized their automation for generating initial transcriptions. The integration with ChatGPT and GitHub connects seamlessly with our repository, enabling reviewers and translators to directly update our codebase. All processes are automated through their UI, eliminating the need for people on my team to attach files to emails for translators to translate. It’s also cost-effective compared to other products." Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Crowdin?

It was hard to understand some of the concepts in the translation industry. The product was well thought for people familiar with the different roles but for someone looking for a simple translation it was a bit much.

The product seems designed for those already familiar with localization. It features concepts like translation memories and glossaries. This made it difficult for someone just seeking a simple translation tool. However, I know get it and thanks to the way those concepts work I was able to separate responsibilities among my team and get contractors with the right access control, which was a significant benefit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Crowdin solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have our SaaS product and a Web library translated into more than 10 tier-1 languages. Crowdin handles all the updates whenever we do code changes to the products. It informs users about the new words that were found and propose translations to them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
