Very flexible software, allows for most processes to be modeled in the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Development times for enhancements have gotten longer recently. I understand that Configure One is addressing the problem.
Graphically not very good. Customization is possible, but native adjustments are difficult or not possible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best feature of Configure one is the flexibility to make it specific to your company and to narrow down input choices for simplicity and speed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not a dislike but a reality. With any change or implementation your team needs to set daily weekly goals to succeed. Allow daily schedule time for your team to get the implementation up and running ASAP. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Configure One project team I've partnered with has been a pleasure to work with, and their knowledge of their own product is impressively thorough. This software offers minimal resistance to getting entry level functionality out of it, and has the structure to support more complex applications as its usage grows. Some portions of the admin interface are difficult to navigate (between screens/nomenclature), It took time learning the location of certain functions and settings, but it has become second nature after using the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The thing I like about Configure One is how mature of a product it already is. It has many years of development behind it and works wonders with basic functionality. It's a sturdy application and has multiple strands that allow for good integration with multiple applications (CRM, ERP, CAD, etc.). Also, once you are over the learning curb, it's a great tool to become self-sufficient with and unless you are looking to carry out extremely complex customisation, you can survive without having to refer to Configure One for assistance. Finally, it allows for a high level degree of complexity in configurations - and that is for products across multiple markets and not just for a particular kind. Given its great maturity, it's admin UI could do with a re-think. The end-user UI has been worked on and is much better than what it used to be, but can still be improved on. UX improvement should also be taken into consideration (for both back-end and front-end), as at times some process are convoluted or some menus are not very intuitive. Another downside, which I don't think is exclusive to Configure One, is the need to re-code all customisation every time an update is available. Finally, its document / output engine, whilst by no means the worst out there, can be onerous at times, as it relies on HTML editing. And not being able to product a .rtf output is also a limitation. C1 has allowed us to implement our industry's first configurator. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The complexity of what needed to be accomplished took us years to appreciate and implement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Excellent customer support from sales process to development. I tried 3 other CPQ tools and they were either too complicated or just weren't able to do what we needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I haven't yet found anything I really dislike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Internal data management, the system does a great job of maintaining internal data and references which is a very beneficial help during implementation and updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The user interface can be more of a hindrance than a benefit. The point and click rules generation lends itself to an extensive menu system that can tend to be cumbersome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The software is versatile and flexible enough to exceed all our business requirements. Additionally, it interfaces nearly seamlessly with NETSUITE and provides ample reporting. The company sales and implementation teams were terrific to work with and listened carefully to our needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As with any software, in my experience, it takes longer to install and connect to NETSUITE than I thought it would, but perhaps my expectations were too ambitious. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We have worked with the team at Configure One for almost seven years and have been very satisfied with Concept and the level of support they have provided. Great people make a great company and everyone at Configure One is highly knowledgeable and easy to work with. We requested some customization to integrate with some of our other existing systems and the result was a seamless configuration and quote process. You don't have to be a programmer to use Concept and everything is very well thought out and logically organized. User feedback and suggestions have a direct impact on the functionality of the product which is constantly improving. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It can be easy to become overwhelmed with the administrator menu screens that all look the same. Expanding the Where Used functionality would be helpful. Some limits on the amount of data that can be uploaded to individual lists and a character limit on smart part number length. No way to save or import driven input data. Configure One has been easy to implement, and the team has been great to work with. They helped me to develop a good process within the Configure One environment to handle configuration and quoting of the majority of our compression equipment. Though we are not in full implementation yet, we hope to be soon! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This is more of our own challenges, rather than a dislike of Configure One: Replacing our own internal systems and getting to a full rollout has been difficult for me. Configure One offers NetSuite integrations that we plan on utilizing, but have not made swift progress in modifying our internal processes and making modifications to NetSuite to make it all fit together. Further, our vision for this system relied on integration with home-grown systems that were not fully developed yet either. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
