What do you like best about Canto?

I really like how organized it is and how you can make folders and albums. I also like that you can sort how you want to view your images and videos. Overall, I really like the full set up. The tagging option is super helpful when you need to find certain images, and it is very easy to upload images and videos, very quick. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canto?

I would like it to be a bit easier when actually creating and sorting the folders. The dragging option is a bit slow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Canto:

It is a great way to share photos and videos throughout the company it makes projects a lot easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?

This has helped us stay more organized and keep all our important images in one place. It makes it much easier when handing off a project for someone else to complete. We no longer have to deal with sharing files and it has cut down on a lot of unnecessary email chains. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Canto?

The previous perpetual display of search results which often consumed all the system RAM was Image Relay's greatest flaw as it cause the browser to freeze. The latest iteration has fixed this by limiting results to 100 items. This has increased usability exponentially, although it would be even better if the limit was increased to 200 or 300 items. The new boolean search and modern interface is also appreciated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canto?

Generated previews from images embedded with Adobe RGB profiles do not respect the profile and causes the previews to be over-saturated even on color profile-aware browsers. While sRGB embedded images display properly, it makes less sense to store them with sRGB profiles.

Inability to carry over metadata from PDF files.

Limiting search results to 100 items actually decreased productivity as more clicks are required. The perpetual search results is actually faster if total number of results did not consume all the RAM.

Folders can't be omitted from a search. We have old folders with huge number of items that don't have to be queried for every search.

Folders are sorted by date of creation and will not conform to a sorting scheme. They must be sorted manually. While there are times when a custom sort scheme is useful, sometimes it is not and they have to be hand-sorted every time. Implementing an adjustable setting would be appreciated.

Advanced search panel continue to display even when I have navigated away from search. Clicking on Collections and then back to Library clears the panel.

Downloading the auto-generated Screen Ready Images are too small even for web use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Canto:

An inexpensive DAM system which has improved quite a lot. If it was the previous iteration, I would not have recommended it, but at its current state, it's a thumbs up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?

As our assets now sit in the cloud, sharing assets online is far simpler without the complications of granting users access into our local servers which they may or may not be able to do. With Image Relay, all they need is a browser and login information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Canto?

The Canto platform has been a huge help for us! It has made organizing, tagging, and sharing of images incredibly easy. The site is easy to work on as well. The Portal function is also amazing. I was tasked with creating a Portal and found a very helpful tutorial on the creating one that made it very easy. Highly recommended platform with very reasonable pricing options. What do you dislike about Canto?

I would say the only thing that is a bit buggy is when creating new folders and albums in the folder structure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the fact that it is easy to learn this platform. After a few weeks I know where I can find something that I am looking for. It is easy to download needed assets within very small period of time. I don't have to keep everything in my files on computer, I can take them from Image Relay. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Canto?

Image Relay's plans are generous and ideal for a medium-sized (and expanding) business. There's not much need to worry about number of assets, image sizes, etc. Image Relay's capacity is robust and leaves nothing to be desired, even on a "base" plan. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canto?

Still a few small interface hiccups, but the Image Relay team is quick to respond to support requests and fixes things quickly! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?

Distributing assets to all of our independent sales reps and wholesale accounts has never been easier. One benefit we've realized is being able to update an asset to a new version and instantly distribute it to all recipients that have access to Image Relay. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Canto?

I like Canto's clean interface and customizable skins. We have different organizations within the company, and it's nice having branded portals for each. We also found Canto to be a good value for the overall cost in comparison with competitors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canto?

Overall it does the job nicely. I would like a few more user settings/options to customize the experience even more. There is a procedure for logging feature requests, and Canto reviews to determine if they are viable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?

The main problem we have overcome is me having to field photography requests from the company using my own computer. That in itself has been a huge time saver. The other main benefit is having a searchable database. I am the principle photographer, and have been shooting for our company since 2001, so you can imagine the size of the database.
