Brightflag is an easy-to-use, intuitive interface that even users without training were able to use and adapt to from prior system. There are very helpful features (seeing accruals) and field names on reports that make sense. The customer support is excellent -- helpful and responsive. A pleasure to deal with them.

Brightflag's internal cost center budget feature provides a centralized location for managing all costs related to an internal legal department. I can sent budgets on the cost center level as well as individual budgets for each legal matter. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While Brightflag provides create matter and legal spend management, there needs to be work on the reporting feature. However, I have personal experience that their product team takes your feedback into consideration and implements them in a timely fashion. Since we began using Brightflag in early 2022, we've not only seen the platform's value quickly materialize post-implementation, but we've also continually benefited from its continuous roll-out of new features. While I could go on and on endlessly on how Brightflag has revolutionized efficiency for my team when it comes to matter and spend management, I find it even more important to commend the exceptional support staff who have made our experience truly outstanding.
Nicole Clauberg took charge of our implementation with such dedication and grace, making the entire process seamless and organized. Her passion for her work and her commitment to customer success were evident from the start, and they've deeply impacted our productivity. She's currently working to implement our API integration and she's nothing short of amazing.
Ethan Prevoznak, our CSM, has been nothing short of phenomenal. His responsiveness, availability for every little query, and openness to feedback have made working with Brightflag a delight. Ethan’s approach not only addresses our needs but also makes us feel genuinely supported.

Brightflag does a great job at this, constantly rolling out new features and being open to feedback. They're always improving, which makes it a tool that keeps getting better for us. We have been live in Brightflag for a few months now and it's been a great experience so far. We were able to implement in less than a month and my team took to the system quickly. There is instant value with Brightflag and features, like invoice flags, provide both cost savings and a decrease in time spent reviewing invoices. It has quickly become a pivotal tool for our team. It has significantly enhanced our efficiency and saves valuable attorney time. The interface is very easy to use and required minimal training for our team. Implementation was easy and the customer support is amazing. Well after going live, we are still lucky to have continued, first-class customer support. There are certain features that we would like to have like, email notifications for new timekeeper requests and invoice resubmission redlines to show updates, but these are minor, and I hear they are in the works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Everything about our Brightflag has just been "easy." The Brightflag interface is very intuitive to use, whether creating new matters, reviewing invoices or running reports. In particular, the report feature makes it easy to drill down to the data you want to view without spending all day clicking around on data points to try to find what you need. It is also easy to update information on matters without having to use several clicks to do so.
There have been several new features introduced just in the 9 months since we started using it, that make day-to-day work fairly easy. Some of these updates have been fairly small/minor, but you realize quickly how much time that adds up to save you each day.
Invoice approval workflows are super easy to manage and can even be adjusted on an individual invoice basis, which is a new-to-me feature that is very much appreciated.
Customer service has been great, no dumb questions, and they seem to hear our feedback on customizations we'd like to see. Implementation was a breeze, comparatively speaking, and we were ahead of schedule. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This could be good or bad depending on your needs, but some changes or customizations require going through the Brightflag team. For example, you can only update certain defined fields via a bulk update; otherwise, you'll need to work with their support team for a bulk update. This of course creates some email back and forth of getting what you need handled. On the other hand, it makes for cleaner and consistent data since you can't change things on a whim. The Brightflag software enables our team to manage legal billing matters. The client and vendor portal is easy to use. The Brightflag system easily integrates with existing tools (software solutions) using APIs (middleware software). The Customer Support team is knowledgeable and responsive to complaint and issue reports. This team has resolved some minor and complex issues within a quick turnaround. Whenever functionality doesn't meet needs, the Brightflag production team is proative is intaking feedback and working with development, although a lenghty process from the time of the report to release. Some other tools that this software could integrate with may require API licenses (additional fees) because this software does not yet have affiliations with non-billing software solutions in the same way as some of the other billing suites do. It does not appear that the billing needs for specific fields of law practices were researched and adopted early on in the development of the software. One field of law may have different billing requirements than another, which leaves gaps in enhancements/functionality. The client experience for specific fields of legal practices is comparable to a beta product that requires resources to educate, test and develop while in production. There have been instances where a feature have been released without input from beta test groups/clients, and these features are not useful or are missing functionality that prevents their use. Also, some of these feature releases have taken many years (4 years) to release from the time they were reported as missing functionality. When features are being developed and betas released to client teams, there's no best practice for beta test reporting, and no way for other beta teams/testers to know what feedback is being reported. The application is easy to use and customizable for any specific needs you have. For things that are not immediately customizable, Brightflag has been particularly good at listening to suggestions we had which meant that various features were introduced at our urging. None of this came at an extra cost.
The customer support is unlike anything I have seen with any application or tool - ever. We have a dedicated person who receives all of our tickets (which are just e-mails we sent to support). Apart from ongoing support, we have a dedicated customer contact who is very knowledgeable about the tool and is able to find solutions for things we throw at them.
Apart from ease of use and customer support, Brightflag stands out using AI that 'reads' the invoices and is very good helping to split out the invoice into tasks. The flagging for non-compliant billing makes an enormous difference when reviewing invoices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
To no fault of Brightflag we have not yet integrated Brightflag with our SAP system. We had planned for this but on our side, there was an SAP migration which meant we were not allowed to make any changes to SAP for most of the time that we had Brightflag. With the integration, I think it would be even better.
Although law firms seem not to mind using the system and like that they can submit PDFs (instead of LEDES files) making the process as fool proof as possible for law firms as it can be, would make Brightflag even better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
