Product Description

Auvik makes network management easier. By automating and simplifying network management, Auvik’s cloud-based software improves the efficiency and capacity of IT teams and helps protect their business from network risk. Today, Auvik helps IT teams establish true visibility and efficiency across more than four million devices on over 55,000 networks worldwide.

How do you position yourself against your competitors?

Traditional network management systems aren’t designed to deploy quickly and aren’t easy to use or understand. Many systems require an IT pro to purchase expensive on-premises hardware and software for every location they manage and hire a full-time employee to learn, understand, and use the system. The existing systems aren’t designed with today’s networks in mind.

With Auvik, it’s completely different. Our cloud-based network management software can be deployed in minutes, and its simple, intuitive interface can be used by even the most junior technician on an IT team. It doesn’t require deep network knowledge to use and it’s designed to scale with a business.

What do you like best about Auvik?

Impressive how quickly Auvik scanned our network, created a network back and e-mailed us with an unspotted issue on the network that had gone unnoticed and since resolving that we've already had improved network reliability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Auvik?

Setting up all our devices to be accessed by Auvik took a while - but not really Auvik's fault. We're also getting some false errors which we need to investigate, but I'm sure these are just setting up/teething issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?

We've now got an updating map of our network and devices being pro-actively monitored by Auvik which means we can be on top of any issues, with a much increased time to resolve any issues as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Auvik?

I like the alerting features and the ability to have cloud-stored configurations. The mapping feature is also helpful to see the following connections the devices will make. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Auvik?

Although the mapping feature is a plus, it would be more helpful if you could narrow the size of the scope of the map easier. Mapping an extensive network may also be an issue with how our network is discovered through the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?

Auvik is performing as an SNMP collector for our network. Auvik utilizes the SNMP data to provide system alerts and log collection. Auvik also acts as a network configuration storage for all devices we have pointed to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Auvik?

It's super easy to use. The web interface is easy to navigate, and the installation is easy to perform. You don't need a specific appliance, you can install a program and make any laptop or PC on the network into a reporting device in less than 5 minutes. The system reports on managed or unmanaged switches, workstations, and printers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Auvik?

I wish they had a phone app. Sometimes it is a pain to have to dig through all of my daily work emails to see if I have received anything from them. If there was an app on my phone that popped up a message whenever something happened, this program would be PERFECT. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?

In the past I have lost 2 devices due to AC unit malfunctions in the server room, and I have had multiple times where servers went down on the weekend and no one reported it to me until days later and I had to rush to fix things late at night or very early in the am. Being constantly aware and able to check on my systems is a godsend. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This allows us to get up-to-date notifications and maintain a network for our clients that they can depend on. Seeing a customer network as a single pane of glass perspective makes growing or diagnosing issues extremely easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Auvik?

I don't have much to say in this area, but..... I would love to see a mobile app that could assist on the go as we are mobile a lot in our industry. I would also like to see code written to allow a collector to be placed on an ARM processor for say a raspberry pi. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?

Diagnosing critical network outages for our customers. Allowing us to find critical components and links between our network infrastructure has proved very valuable. The keeping of configurations and being able to review and restore quickly is great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Auvik?

Auvik is easy to set up. Once you get the probe installed, it scans and finds everything. You can then decide what you want to be managed or not and work though setting up the alerts you want. I also love that it will monitor other things like Vmware at no additional cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Auvik?

Cant say that i think it is a bad thing but there are a lot of things you can alert on. Digging though to decide what you want to get an alert on or not can be cumbersome but that being said i would still rather have more to choose from than just a few. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?

Having the ability to know when there are issues with switches, firewalls or other networking equipment is always something that is needed. Other monitoring software i have used does not seem to do a great job or the alerts seem to not be quick enough. Auvik does a great job letting me know about all types of issues and is quick to alert me when there are issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Auvik?

I found that the setup was the best part. Network mapping and monitoring have lots of options, but Auvik make it too easy to set up it was unreal. I installed the collector, then ran through the steps on the web portal. All I had to do was provide the community strings for the SNMP, it did the rest. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Auvik?

Windows and Linux only. No collector for Mac OS. Some shops/Studios use Mac OS, like me. I wound up running my Collector on a Virt Windows machine. But Mac OS should be supported. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Auvik:

If you are looking for a network monitoring tool with low overhead, and a super easy setup, then this is it! Install a single tiny service, then let the web portal do the rest. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?

I am mostly interested in the traffic monitoring aspect. It is also nice to know when my network is going down, it appears that my router is having technical issues often and Auvik pointed this out for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Auvik?

Auvik has a detailed map view of the entire network, this comes in real handy if you are to understand the network layer and architecture of an entire site for a client. It is very easy to add the sites to Auvik and once the sites are added, Auvik does wonders in showing a complete view of the existing network infrastructure. It would be easy to search for a device or switch or a router in the GUI and the web UI is faster and responsive. Their support team are very knowledgeable and helpful in clarifying the queries, I had a specific scenario in configuring the notification channel and their support team was of great assistance whenever needed. We have Auvik integrated with PSA ticketing system, two way handshake works really well wrt ticket creation and closure.Their network discovery capabilities are very impressive, its a real deal to get all of network infrastructure of a client under a single umbrella. Overall I would say they are the competitive and best out there in the industry. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Auvik?

Auvik's UI can be a little more intuitive, IMO they have a redundant section such as Manage Alerts(which holds Alerts, Notification channels and Maintenance window section). Currently, they appear in both overall site location and in each site, understanding the configuration of how it would work wrt sites is a bit challenging. Alerting section looks to be confusing when there are multiple alerts for a shorter window, its hard to track down in UI whether a particular alert has resolved or not. Currently they page you for a cleared alert as well, if that can be shut off that would be well and good, would be a bit less noisier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Auvik:

If you're looking for the best Network infrastructure monitoring tool, go for Auvik as they offer a lot and are best in the industry. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?

It makes us aware of what's on our client network and has the dynamic visual mapping of an entire network. We are using its alerting and monitoring capabilities to understand our client networks. It has helped with reducing the troubleshooting window to address an issue.
